First Light really came through for my family when my dad, 83, was unexpectedly hospitalized leaving my mom, 87, who requires around-the-clock support, in need of home care. I recommend First Light & their caregiving services. They have cared for my 92 year old dad 2 hours a day over the last 6 months. I appreciate being able to text them at any time & their responsiveness. If their caregiving staff was low & they could not fill a day, or they were substituting caregivers, they would always contact me in advance & I appreciated that. Everyone is not skilled in some of the simplest necessities like cooking. Some are good, some are not. My disabled/blind husband need a certain standard of care.

I’ve always had nice and friendly assistance from them, especially Ryan. If he tolerates me, that’s amazing. Ryan has assisted me through two surgeries. The office staff is always polite. I can depend on them sending me a helper on time. I don’t worry about no shows or rude help. I sure wish the helpers could get paid more, they do the actual important physical work while management makes the big bucks. A little adjustment will keep them happier and better retention. The employees are there to help us, not to get rich, but need just a few dollars more, as one review said you’ll make more at McDonalds, and that’s sad. Communication is always available with phone calls and texting. If I have another surgery, I look forward to calling First Light.

Love Doreen! She comes and cleans and takes my father in-law on walks. She even brings coupons so she can take him to dinner. She's flexible and kind. Also love LaRonda! She takes my father in-law to Church on Sunday and sits with him. Actually, every caregiver has been wonderful.

When my wife left because she said she was tired of dealing with a husband that had MS, a senior care advisor recommended I call FirstLight. I could not be happier with their service, quality of care, companionship and compassion. There were several times that I woke up in the morning with a typical MS problem of my left side being almost completely numb and very weak. Thereby making it very difficult to even get out of bed, much less cook and take care of the normal daily household necessities. Kirsten always does an excellent job of finding qualified caregivers on extremely short notice. Like many people, I have my preferred caregiver, but all of the caregivers they have sent to my house are excellent and they have always been able to find one on short notice when desperately needed.

We hired First Light to help Mom with her medications, checking on her oxygen, assisting with showers, getting her to meals on time, and checking on her before retiring for the night. The caregivers are great people and truly very helpful with Mom's needs. Charlene is very caring and knowledgeable. Some elderly folks can be somewhat contrary, intimidating, and don't want to cooperate with anyone. Scheduling is great!! Kirsten is VERY accommodating and has been a pleasure to work with.

FirstLight was wonderful in providing additional special needs care for my father, who was in reminiscence at an assisted living facility. He needed follow-on physical therapy rehab, and FirstLight worked with dad's physical therapist to gain his trust and confidence to start walking with a walker again. In addition to more personal, regular attention than the assisted living facility could provide, FirstLight was able to recognize a declining condition before the facility acknowledged the problem. They were professional in working with the facility staff in a cooperative manner. They worked with us to tailor dad's special needs, and were great at keeping us informed of weekly status and issues found. Kirsten & all at FirstLight were fantastic at helping us with maintaining my father's quality of life. We highly recommend them to anyone seeking elder care at home.

My mother hired these fine people to help me when I was home alone as a new mother. They came in to sit with my newborn to help me get a few hours of sleep each weekend. I had a few different ladies over the course of our first two months together, and each of them were lovely. I felt comfortable having them in my home, comfortable with them taking care of my new son, and grateful for the chance to get a few hours of sleep. The owner, Kirsten was beyond fantastic. The scheduler was great... Everyone was very responsive. I highly recommend!
