I was having a tough time deciding nursing homes for my disabled mother. I decided to set up a tour of McKinley health care center with the admissions / marketing director Jessica Ailing she was not only very helpful in helping me make the right choice when the time comes for her to go to a facility. She was friendly, honest, caring and had the best interests of my mom at heart. After speaking with her at length and touring the facility I have now made my choice i will be bringing my mom there to reside due to the caring admissions director and I like what saw in the tour of the facility.

At first I was hesitant about my Aunt being at McKinley we heard some rumors and had a few concerns. But the social worker Mackenzie is so quick to address any of the problems I ever had and helped resolve all issues quickly. I can only visit occasionally So I really appreciate how reassuring she is. I would recommend McKinley Health Care Center to others.

I visited a client of mine at this health care center. I had never been there before yesterday. When I first arrived, the women at the front desk were extremely nice and informative. However, I received the wrong room number for my client and ended up on floor 2 instead of floor 3. Upon exiting the elevator and crossing the catwalk to get to the Harrison Department, the smell was pretty foul, a combination of urine and illness-I don't know how to describe it. The floor felt very gloomy. I went to the wrong room and then had to interrupt a nurse who was eating at the nurses station to ask if she could help me. She was very kind and gave me detailed instructions on how to get to my client. My client was on the 3rd floor. Making my way back to the elevator, I passed several employees, and maybe one smiled and said hello. Once I got to the elevator, it took a while to reach the 3rd floor because only 1 elevator was working. Entering the 3rd floor, you could feel the difference. It was a little warmer and more welcoming, and there were no foul odors. Again, I passed several employees, and not one said hello or greeted me. They all looked very grumpy. I arrived right at lunchtime and got to see the food that was served. I asked my client if it was good, and she said that she hadn't eaten much since she got there because she doesn't like the food. Yesterday, she had mushy chicken nuggets and tater tots along with a red vegetable, which may have been roasted tomatoes or peppers. She didn't eat anything off her tray. I visited my client for about an hour before I had to run an errand for her. As I was leaving, she requested that she be put back into her bed because her back was hurting. I returned two hours later, and she was still in her wheelchair and also sitting in urine. She is not able to walk to the restroom without assistance because she has hurt her knee. When I asked what happened, she said that nobody came to help her. This was obvious because she was still sitting in the wheelchair where she had requested to be put back in her bed two hours earlier. An aide came and apologized for her not being assisted, but she also mentioned she had just gotten on shift, so it wasn't her fault. The nurse who was on the floor also came and apologized to my client. As I was unpacking the items I brought for my client, I began to hang up the clothes in the small closet. When I asked if her clothing that she had come in with was clean or not, she said that she didn't know. I'm unsure what the policy is regarding laundry, but since she came with no clothing besides what she was wearing when she had an accident, and no family or friends had visited, you would think they would have looked further into her needs and assisted with such things. I know this was my first visit, and I will be returning to visit her again tomorrow. But as a first impression of this place, I can say that I would not put a family member here. The friendliest people were the ones at the front desk and a couple of nurses who rode the elevator with me a couple of floors. The shift in the atmosphere was so noticeable, too, going from floor 2 to floor 3. I am not trying to bash this place. I am just leaving an honest review of what I experienced and witnessed.

My Mother has been a Ward, (Cared for by), McKinley Health Care Center for almost a Year now, She has stated many times how much She Loves Residing there. She also has mentioned how much She Enjoys how the Staff attends to Her needs. She Enjoys Their Professionalism, And Kindness as well. We have had a great experience with McKinley health care center. They have made the transition on my father extremely easy and comforting. This place is so full of history Every hall has a story The new owners are absolutely wonderful! Very personable. I would recommend this place because therapy, where do I begin! ROCKSTARS, the director of rehab is so so smart, she gets people to walk that never thought they would ever walk again!! The regional that is there a couple days a week (owner) is hands down one of the greatest human beings i have ever met, he will go out of his way to make things right. My Mother, has been a Resident at The McKinley Health Care Center for the last two-three months, and although my general critiques made via the center's Visitors Sign In/Out Portal have varied, I wish to convey a sincere Heartfelt THANK YOU, to the Entire Staff: Including Administration, Maintenance, Nursing as well as the entire Health Aide Staff, (Doctor(s), Pharmacy, etc...). Upon Her initial Admittance it was requested that She be placed in Private Quarters, (Single Room). At that time a private space was unavailable but those in the Social Work Department along with Admittance/Administration Departments worked diligently until The Family's request came to fruition. Having attended Post Secondary Education with a Social Work emphasis along with some focus in General Psychology, I can identify that transitioning from Classroom/Text Book Ideology to Real World Realities requires Patience, Dedication, and a host of other Skills, needed to provide a much needed/appreciated service for Senior Citizens. Also McKinley Health Care Center employs an Outstanding, ( And Dedicated), Physical/Occupational Therapy Staff...THANK YOU ALL again. A Wonderful Day to EVERYONE Employed by McKINLEY HEALTH CARE CENTER.

The McKinley Health Care Center was a highschool in the day. The security guard was very nice getting us checked in to see my brother. The staff are very nice and answered all my questions. The housekeeping staff were prompt and ready to help me straightening up his room. Overall well McKinney Health Care Center is a good place for care.
