My brother is currently in Rehab at Haym Salomon. We are both very pleased with the excellent service of the nursing staff and the group of exceptional therapists. They are the best. The place is immaculate and the food is great. We both have nothing negative to say. Top notch rehab center in Brooklyn. Five stars

I was a patient at Haym Solomon for two months following an injury due to a fall from a ladder. Prior to my stay at this facility I spent 10 days in another. It was so grim and the help so indifferent (with a few exceptions) that I discharged myself prematurely, went home, and realized, after spending only a day and a night there, that I had put myself in danger. I then had the good fortune of entering Haym Solomon after doing research and reading excellent reviews. This facility was also recommended by a friend whose father was there for an extended period of time 20 years ago, as well as by a nurse at the hospital where I was treated (Maimonides). The difference between the first facility (Boro Park) and Haym Solomon was dramatic. Almost to a person, the staff at this nursing home/rehab facility was kind, solicitous, competent and friendly. It was abundantly obvious to me that the morale among its employees was excellent. The protocol established regarding patient care seemed highly professional and smoothly administered. Most importantly, I felt safe and well cared for. In fact, I was somewhat hesitant to go home. I must note here the names of some outstanding individuals who were especially caring and compassionate. They significantly helped to humanize this otherwise extremely difficult experience in my life: Bell, Sukana, Daniel, Blanche, Ade, Suzette, Paulina (Aides); Elizabeth (nurse). I apologize for not having last names, and for forgetting the names of others who were kind and helpful. Veneer (Sp.?) (PT) and Ahmed (OT) were great. I also had wonderful, friendly contact with and above-and-beyond help from the ancillary staff, outstanding members of which are Augustina, Paul, Blanca and Pilar. A few imperfections: Although some of the main courses were excellent (no lack of protein), the food quality from a nutritional standpoint was poor. The salads are mostly pale iceberg lettuce, the fruit offered is sometimes unripe and inedible, selections are often fatty (saturated) and sweet. Aside from oatmeal in the morning and an occasional sweet potato offering, the simple carbohydrate accompaniments on the plate (mashed potatoes, white rice, pasta) lack nutrients and fiber. Canned fruit and vegetables were offered with each meal. These might be tasty but they're nutritionally vacuous. This was NOT the fault of Rivka (bless her), my dietitian, who was extremely accommodating in response to my requests (yogurt, soy milk....). I'm sure the food is at least comparable if not better compared to other facilities. It's very difficult to feed hundreds of people within a certain budget. (I managed by ordering out, having meals delivered from Sweet Greens.) I must say, reluctantly, that I was annoyed by the religiosity of Haym Solomon - loud announcements and prayers over the intercom system every day, limited food offerings relating to Kosher restrictions and Jewish holidays, and the relatively poor tasting products supplied by the kosher food company contracting with the facility (the worst yogurt I ever tasted). I'm Jewish, but I would rather not be imposed upon by the religious strictures of others. Furthermore, the residents at this nursing home/rehab represent a monoculture - I suppose the neighborhood in which it's located, Bensonhurst/Coney Island. The only aspect I preferred about the Borough Park facility where I stayed in the beginning was its diversity. There's virtually none at Haym Solomon, certainly not a demographic which represents Brooklyn. Response times to my requests for help were usually good, though seriously compromised during shift break time. This should be remedied. Finally, the window (in my very nice room) was almost impossible to open and adjust. I used all my strength to accomplish what should have been a very simple task and could have hurt myself several times. (I was not going to - should not have had to - wait for a male employee to do this for me.) Nevertheless..., I wholeheartedly assign five stars to Haym Solomon, very much a cut above other facilities.

Due to declining health of my grandmother, I had to make a difficult choice by bringing her to Haym Solomon Home for Nursing and Rehabilitation. Since day 1, I have nothing but good things to say about the staff and rehab department. Everyone is extremely knowledgable, professional, and caring. Every nurse, every nurses aid have been nothing but nice and loving toward my grandmother. It has been exactly two months and I truly made the right decision by choosing this nursing home instead of another one. I give 5/5 stars.

The PT Team is excellent and the social workers Anton and Michelle are great. Kudos to Darling, Sasha, Daniel and Ebony for taking care of my mother. I can not name all the people that helped my mother or stopped by to say hi but there are a lot of great folks working on the 7th floor. The food is not the best, most of the time the food was cold and several times forget to give my mother breakfast/lunch she needed to ring the gadget for them to bring it or it was brought to her late. Some aides need to have more empathy towards the patients and need more training. The night shift no consideration that the patients need their rest and sleep. A lot of noise, loud talking, slamming doors. No diversity. Everything is Russian. But overall for a short stay in rehab PT team will give you at least 1.5 to 2 hours in PT. Excellent team. With their help my mother was able to walk out with a cane. She came in with a fractured hip.

Absolutely amazing rehab facility!!!! I would give 5 stars but I have to take 1 star away for the God-forsaken doctor they have there - Dr. Kozlova — known in our Russian community as the "doctor you die with" cause she's the WORST at predicting how long patients have left. Physical therapy is Daniel Sindo who is simply a gift from above. Nurses and CNAs on 3rd floor are amazing! Social work is amazing. Dr. Kozlova is not amazing in the least. She's perhaps the WORST doctor. The only way to get anywhere w her is to threaten with state. Dr. Kozlova simply does not care!!!! She's an absentee physician, working with and pumping money from the state and insurances and does not give even an ounce of her time to these people who are sustaining her financially through reimbursements and payments for services she does not provide. So, Haym Solomon, you need to get rid of this horrific so called doctor!

I didn't find anything good in this establishment. with the help of a huge number of medications they brought a person to a vegetative state. at the same time they do not feed. starving. They even save on oxygen. The oxygen in the tank has run out and they don't give a damn. It's better to stay away from such places
