The rehab department at this facility is absolutely incredible. You can tell they genuinely care about every single patient and go above and beyond to provide individualized care, talking to the patients and families always involving full interdisciplinary teams in all decisions. They’re always looking for new technology and innovative ways to stay at the forefront of rehabilitation and deliver the best possible outcomes. On June 9th, two friends and I visited our high school friend, Barbara Higgins at ArchCare at Providence Rest Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. My one friend and I were high school classmates of Barbara (having graduated in 1961) and the other visitor was our high school Chemistry teacher who is in her early nineties. We had a delightful visit with Barbara who has an incredibly brilliant mind but whose physical body is seriously incapacitated. After our visit we wanted to take a picture of the four of us to send to our high school alumnae newspaper. I went out into the hall and saw a staff member doing something at the entrance to another room. I asked her if she could take a photo for us after she finished what she was doing. She came over immediately with a smile and took two pictures. She then came over to Barbara and asked her to sit up straight, fixed her blouse, and then her hair - she then took 4 more pictures. In the first two photos, Barbara looked like a lump and in the last four, like the vibrant, cheerful person she is. This person's name, I later learned, is Barbara Newman. On our way out of the facility, we all commented on how clean and neat the facility is. I also noticed a rehab therapist working with another person who had obvious memory issues - the patience, kindness, and direction of this rehab therapist was inspirational. Having cared for my mother (heart condition), father (who had a serious stroke and was essentially a two year old, albeit a pleasant one), and a bipolar aunt who could be very difficult, I have had experiences in many rehab facilities and make my comment out of abundant experience. The three of us were so happy to know that our friend, Barbara Higgins, is in such a caring place.

My experience at Providence Rest arch care was more than exceptional. I would recommend this facility to anyone for Rehab and long-term care. My mother is here and she is thriving and quite happy. I don’t think she could get better quality care. She participates in all activities and is taken care of in a kind, loving and polite way. She loves the music, the dancing and all the activities and she goes to all of them. Even though she has dementia, she is blessed to be a happy person that doesn’t always remember, but that’s OK. God bless amen.

The experience at ArchCare for my mother and myself is beyond what I expected. The staff is attentive, professional and caring. I have been informed on the status of my mother when necessary. Responses to inquiries have been punctual. I can say when you're here, you know you're in a good place.

Employees do a very good job but the facility is understaffed. More help is needed. The food was good and the place is kept clean. More important was the PT I received. The Rehabilitation Dept. is excellent.

Providence Rest has been home to my 84-year-old mom since December 2024. It was an extremely difficult decision for her to make the transition to permanent residency in a nursing home, but from the very first day we were welcomed with warmth and kindness. The staff has truly made us feel at home, and the administration’s open-door policy gives families the comfort of being able to ask important questions at any time. I especially cannot say enough about the incredible staff who organize events and activities for the residents”they bring so much joy and engagement to their daily lives. If you are searching for compassionate, high-quality long-term care for your loved one, I wholeheartedly recommend Providence Rest.

It is with enthusiasm that I highly recommend ArchCare at Providence Rest! My mom has always given our family the best, and she deserves the best. The decision to place a parent/loved one in a nursing home/rehab is not made lightly. I toured Providence with a friend who is a health care professional and spoke well of the facility. She was correct! Clinically, the teams work together and respond to family. The setting is gorgeous and tranquil. The unexpected and MOST important joy is that there is love and care in the air here. On my mom’s first day, I sat in the chapel and cried. A nun saw me and told me don’t worry, Providence Rest would be part of her family now. A big shout out to Michelle and the Recreation crew. Michelle is also the Director of Guest Experience which speaks volumes of the attention to detail. The qualified staff of 3PMariam, Connie, Barbara, the supervisors, Dr. Taparia and all of the team make it happen daily. The front desk crew share a smile and cleanliness is evident throughout. The staff behind the scenes are getting it done! If you are faced with the decision of sub-acute or long term care, ArchCare at Providence Rest is excellent!

My mom was there for 4 months place is clean but short staffed and the food is a hit or miss the family would bring my mom food when they could the rehab my mom said was good she learned alot gave it 3 stars because when u rang the call bell it would take them along time to come or not come at all and you are better off doing the laundry for your loved ones that's what we did for my mom because the laundry system is really not good but like any place family needs to be involved and check in on your loved ones its not like home remember that

I am so pleased with how Providence Rest is caring for my 92-old Mom. They have a professional/administrative staff that REALLY cares for the residents! Most of all, my Mom thinks she is at her senior center and not a nursing home facility; and when I tuck her in at night, she always asks: Who is going to take me to the center tomorrow? The recreational department provides endless activities for ALL RESIDENTS. I am truly, truly, blessed to have Providence/Archcare in my corner! I can rest at home, knowing my loved one is being well-loved and cared for—

Providence Rest is a warm caring place that has been my mom's home for quite awhile. Some of the aides have become like family to us. The Recreation Department is absolutely amazing. Their daily schedule is what makes PR stand out among other nursing facilities. Music, games, shows, crafts - always creative ways in keeping the residents engaged. The entire staff is comprised of the most caring loving individuals. The PT department is also excellent & having the sisters there to share their spirituality, warmth & love just makes PR a very special place.

I am pleased and feel comforted every time I walk into Providence Rest. The staff that care for my mom are good people and want to work with me to know the best way to support my mother. The spiritual support from the sisters is special for me and my mom. My mom feels happy here. I enjoy connecting with the people who live here. The team responsible for my mom's care are readily accessible and are always receptive to my concerns and ideas. We work together. It is a new world for me, but I am embracing it...accepting it...because with my help and Providence's support my mom is getting the love and care she needs. I am grateful. Providence is a wonderful facility. All staff from front desk, social workers, activities coordinator, aides, RN's, PT staff, etc are all amazing and professional. If there's ever an issue, it will get taken care of. There are so many activities for the residents. The family room views are beautiful. They take good care of my father, what more can one ask for. So far my experience has been great as far as the nursing/aide/physical therapy staff. Many thanks especially to Arife Gllasoviiku for exceptional care, Karen Johnson, Margie, Janet, Andrea, Eric and many others. Forgive me if I haven’t mentioned your names. Special thanks to Sr. Catherine for giving me communion everyday. Also, many thanks to the professional physical and occupational therapists. In particular Kamell, Niklo, Seoul and Sam. I couldn’t have asked for a better team of therapists. While overall I am satisfied with the services I have received here, I am looking forward to walking on my own soon so I can fully recover in the comfort of my own home. I WORKED IN A GERIATRIC CARE UNIT IN MY YOUNGER DAYS. SO I KNOW HOW TRYING SOME OLDER ADULTS CAN BE..BUT BELIEVE ME WITH THIS STAFF OF NURSES,RN'S ADMINISTRATION TEAM AND HOUSEKEEPING. YOU GET THE VERY BEST AND THE BEST THEY CAN GIVE SOMETIMES WORKING DOUBLE SHIFTS. The nurse are awesome the aids are fantastic But they are understaffed They need more than one nurse for 30 They say we are understaffed when you ask for something but when you talk to admissions they don’t tell you arhat The dietician is excellent and again all nurses are extremely kind and wonderful They need to hire more aides and nurses

Let's face it. Nursing homes all have their problems. This one has a history of exceptional service to the community. It is now no longer owned by the Catholic Church so it is run differently. The Sister Servants of Mary are still involved but the business end of it is out of their hands (from what I have heard). With that said they are still in a nice peaceful location, with no highways

My Aunt spent about a month at Providence during her recovery from a broken hip. The staff was caring and thoughtful. My aunt was very happy with the care she recieved. In addition, the facility itself is beautiful. It is located on the Long Island Sound in the Country Club section of the Bronx. If you or a loved one require care, I would highly recommend Providence Rest.
