Staff was excellent
July 2026
Last year my wife was at the Laurel of Chatham for 5 weeks. During her stay she was always treated with caring, love and concern by the staff. During her stay it seemed that the staff could not do enough to take care of my wife. It is interesting to note that at the time we needed to make the decision as to which center for her that of the 4 facilities that had openings that Laurels of Chatham was the only one the had a 4 star rating and after being there we experienced just why they had the high rating. Thank you to all of the wonderful and caring people.

My mother-in-law was recently back in the facility for short-term rehab after another hospital stay. The facility was very welcoming. The staff were very attentive to her needs and took great care of her. The rehab staff worked with her on exactly what she needed and made sure she was safe to go back home. Thanks to the teamwork of the dedicated professionals of Pittsboro Health and Rehab!

I stayed at Pittsboro after back surgery. The facility was exceptionally clean”much cleaner than I expected and even cleaner than the hospital. It was clear that the staff takes great pride in keeping everything spotless. The food was surprisingly good, especially breakfast, which I looked forward to each morning. The physical therapy and occupational therapy teams were excellent. They were knowledgeable, encouraging, and played a big role in my recovery. I was also impressed by how efficiently the facility was run. The staff was dedicated, organized, and always worked hard to make sure patients received the care they needed. Thank you to everyone for making my recovery as comfortable and successful as possible.

Experience is they are helpful and they will work with you to get you better. This is a place they will show you that they care for you. This is a place that made me humble. I would recommend this place to anyone. Tomorrow I am going home better than when I came in. I am able to move around better so that I can go home. The nursing staff was friendly and I pray for them. The therapy staff is good and it was a blessing working with them. I love each one of them and I blessed by them.

I recently had the experience of having my mom in this facility for a period of a little over 2 months, after a serious stroke she suffered. While Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) are never a pleasant experience, I can say without a doubt that the staff at LoC were exceptional. And I mean that from top to bottom - the CNA’s, the nurses, the doctor, the therapists (physical, speech and OT), the business manager, the social worker (special shout out to Samantha!), and even the housekeeping person, who was always friendly and went out of her way to say Hello’ every time she saw me in the hall. They were very attentive to my mom’s needs, but equally important, they were attentive to my needs (which was primarily for information on her recovery process so that I could make informed decisions on where she might go upon discharge). Eventually when insurance coverage was denied they helped through the medicare appeals process (which was approved both times I appealed). Overall, while it was under tremendously stressful circumstances for me, I could not have been more pleased and appreciative of all of the staff at Laurels of Chatham.

I had a wonderful two weeks stay in rehab. PT, OT, and all the staff were wonderful! Even the food was good. They frequently asked if I needed anything. Nice gesture.

My dad recently required skilled nursing rehab after a hospital stay. I quickly learned after he arrived at The Laurels that they are staffed with kind, knowledgeable and caring individuals. The nurses, CNAs, and rehab staff, as well as the administrative support staff and all behind the scenes staff proved to be committed to providing the best care for their residents. It was easy to get questions answered and concerns addressed if the need arose. The rehab staff was great and always encouraged my dad. He was soon motivated and looked forward to working in the rehab room with other residents. We are grateful for the care he received at The Laurels of Chatham.
October 2025
My dad recently spent eight weeks at Laurels of Chatham on the Rehab hall. The Rehab team is absolutely fantastic. Not only are they very knowledgeable and encouraging, they are also friendly and caring. Dad really enjoyed working with them. The nursing staff is also wonderful. They responded to every medical issue that arose quickly and competently, and treated Dad with dignity and respect. We appreciate the professional and kind employees that we came to know well at Laurels.

The Laurels of Chatham is what other similar facilities should be judged against. Excellent staff from medical, administrative to the great food prepared and planned. Wendy, the Nutrition Manager, should be very, very proud! PT, OT helped me more than I ever thought. I owe my recovery to Laurels; second to none. Environmental Services could not be better! PS- the business/medical records staff are great to work with.

My mother fell and broke her hip and was transferred to The Laurels of Chatham post hospitalization for rehab. I am a nurse, so I closely observed the care that was taking place as I spent time with my mother. I was in awe of the care given to each and every resident. The care that I see given to each resident tells me that this is not just a job for the staff, but it is their passion. The rehab staff are incredible. The Activity director is absolutely wonderful. The nurses and the nursing assistance and the dietary staff are also so special. I have never experienced such wonderful care in a nursing facility.

My great uncle had a terrible fall at home that resulted in a hip replacement. He was in the hospital for about a week and admitted at the Laurels of Chatham. The therapy team was so kind and wonderful and my uncle was able to go home with home health and is doing great!!! The administrator John was so nice to my family and my uncle while he was there. Wonderful experience for my uncle and my family!

I recently had a family member at The Laurels of Chatham. They provided her excellent nursing care and therapy services.
October 2024
In a world of the modern healthcare industry, this place has a very human touch and feel. Each person who helped and served me was professional and truly caring. Those in the ot and PT department, the case manager, admissions and nurses are very dedicated.
October 2024
Caregivers were marvelous. Front office less so. Every time the subsequent care home asked for paperwork it was wrong and had to be redone, but the worst was that the medication list is supposed to be submitted to the next place on an FL2 and wasn’t complete, so some of the medication did not accurately follow the resident. I ran out late at night to get the meds (the don’t send extra meds with the resident, which seems unnecessarily wasteful to me) but since the orders were incomplete on the FL 2, I had no way of getting the meds over the weekend. Turned out they could not get the meds until the following week anyway because everything stops when the FL 2 is not accurately completed. Truly a mess and an entirely unnecessary set back for the former resident.

My mom was a patient here about 2 years ago and I must say I was surprised by the treatment she received. Everyone was wonderful and caring and really took pride in their work. Nursing homes always get a bad reputation but I was satisfied with the care she received. A lot of the negative reviews I feel like are coming from people who never addressed their issues with the facility and came straight to Google to leave a bad review. How can a facility correct an issue if you never brought it to their attention? I guess no matter if they go above and beyond, those type of people will never be satisfied. Great job Laurels of Chatham! I would recommend this facility to anyone.
September 2024
My mother was there for rehab recently and the entire experience was wonderful. The nursing staff was very polite and always on top of anything mom needed. The rehab staff that worked with mom really pushed her to feel confident and work hard so she could come home! She’s home now and still talks about how good the food was. Thank you!

June 2024
Staff is so very caring, the facility is clean from top to bottom. Food is very good, they can come speak to you about preferences or have family to let the facility know on behalf of your loved ones on what they may like or don't like. Only 1 issue is call bells and I understand the importance of each ones needs as the CNA's may be in another room and could use extra support for answering bells. I would recommend this facility if a choice for care. Thanks for all you all staff do!

June 2024
Excellent staff- very friendly and caring. Did their best to accommodate my husband when he stayed there for rehabilitation after knee surgery. Therapy is excellent. We are giving 4 bc the shared room situation, while a very lovely roommate, resulted in a frequent loud tv and very cold room temperature. Putting a short-stay rehab patient with a longer term care patient doesn’t seem ideal. The good side of this is the caseworker asked my husband to move to another room but he decided to stay. The rooms have limited space, especially with double occupancy, and there is no space to have a chair for the patient to sit as an alternate to the bed. PT/OT doesn’t happen on the weekend either. My husband was just ready to be back in the comfort of his own home.

My mom was a patient here for 2+ months while recovering from a fall and sepsis. The therapy team was AMAZING and thankfully, she's regained some mobility. The entire staff was caring and compassionate and very attentive. The facility was always clean. I love how the admin staff was always readily available to answer my many questions or to provide guidance. I would gladly give 5 stars except the meals were not star worthy at all. Thankfully, I live close enough to bring meals to my mom. I don't regret choosing the Laurels for my mom's recovery at all!
March 2024
Everything was good except for the discharge. I felt we needed more information on the care. I thought nursing would sit down with us and explain how he was doing and what had changed. I never had to give him insulin I pray I am doing it right.

My mom had back surgery at Duke, and then did her rehab at the Laurels of Chatham. She went to rehab right before the holidays. Every day, she commented on how kind everyone was, how fast everyone responded when she had a question or needed something, how good the food was , and especially the cleanliness of the facility. She liked all the different meals and enjoyed talking with the dietary staff. She noted the housekeeping staff were excellent and kept her room spotless. When I visited my mom, all the staff were friendly and helpful. I was very impressed with the high level of care, and the high level of caring. The staff stopped and talked to all the residents. My mom had a great experience at the Laurels of Chatham. Highly recommend! Thank you, Leslie

I am leaving this review here for my elderly Mother who has recently spent 17 days here at The Laurels at Chatam! She has expressed to me the kindness, empathy and excellent care she received from the nursing staff there. She has also told me about the professional care she got from the highly qualified physical therapy staff there. As a result she is home now and mobile and back up on her feet. She couldn't be more pleased and highly recommends The Laurels! Thank you all for all your efforts for my Mom

I am so happy I got to go there for Rehab after my huge spine surgery. The nursing staff is great, PT, OT appropriately intensive to ma.ke you stronger. When you are tired they let you sit, it's not torture as I had feared! The CNAs get to know what you prefer. Some time at shif change time, you wait a little longer to get help but not like at the hospital.

My mom left rehab today . They changed all her medications and didn’t send them to pharmacy that I told them we use . Now she’s out of sugar meds and other meds until we can get them filled that’s ridiculous and unacceptable. they also have a bathroom that was shared by 4 people and no shower in their bathroom. They mom had to fill a tub with water. Sad

My dad just left the Laurels after a extensive hospital stay. He was very happy with the entire Physical Therapy department. He had some good nurses and any problems were always handled fairly quickly. We are thankful for him regaining his strength and being able to come home and walk again!

Never really had a bad experience with anyone, my biggest complaint was that when someone comes into the room at night they had to flip on all the light and wake people up when they could have just turned the lights on over the person they were coming in see, another thing why does everyone have to be up at 7 - 7:30 everyday when day shift comes in and turns on the lights.

The CNA's were for the most part quick and efficient. There were a few times I had to wait over 2 hrs but only a few. They were definitely under staffed. And not many on standby Incase one got sick. Which did happen while I was there. They would not let her leave 3rd shift work even with a fever and diaria. Bedside manor was very polite, considerate and compassionate. So they rate very, very good in my book. The nurses depending on who you got for the day and night were pretty much in sync with each other. They had a schedule to go by and even though I had to get used to the new times of taking my medicine and privately didnt agree, they were steady. I rate them as very good. The OT and PT had excellent work results with me even though I was limited on how much I could do because of my knee. My knee needs surgery so they did really good considering. Now the time we're a little sketchy. It seems they were willing to work with you. Tried to be flexible, but you never knew when they were coming for you. Since that's a minor issue I rated them very, very good. Now getting a hold of any official like social worker, or management, and especially a doctor was the worst. Never did see the doctor after my initial first day. Which I barely remembered because I was still pretty sick. I called to see him several times.i rate him pretty low. Social worker did come see me like four times. But seemed like they or she was very over worked. I rate them very, very good at their work. House keeping was always happy time. They did an excellent job and were always in a good mood. Or good at faking. I rate them excellent.
