Have only had Mom there for a week, but it seems ok. She's only there temporarily. Staff seems professional, courteous, cheerful. Nice to see they are taking Covid-19 procedures seriously. I've gotten two proactive calls from staff leads keeping me up to date, which is appreciated.

I'm a current resident, and these negative reviews I'm reading are not true. Advamere at Sunnyside is a great place, all the way from very clean to the nurses, to the CNA'S, the office staff are wonderful, and the food can be good at times.# I'm getting too fat lol. They have done a great job to assure we stay safe and covid free this whole time . Thank you for taking great care of me.

I used to work at this facility. I was a charge nurse for 2 years here. In regards to reviews stating nurses were withholding medications, chances are we are following MD orders, which surprisingly a lot of people don't understand, along with the admission process taking time and Medicare/Medicaid guideline we HAVE to follow. So no we can't just give you a walker or wheelchair despite you using one at home, you have to have therapy clearance by an assessment being performed by the therapy department, EVERYTHING WE WANT TO DO OR ADMINISTER HAS TO BE APPROVED BY A DOCTOR AND WE MUST HAVE A SIGNED MD ORDER FOR IT. YES WE EVEN NEED A ORDER FOR A WALKER OR A WHEELCHAIR DESPITE YOU USING ONE AT HONE.The facility went under new management about 1 year into my employment there and due to 2 people, Kandis Hanson (ED) and Suzanne Ferrel (DNS) the building became a wonderful place to work. Unfortunately the DNS left and they brought in a temporary one, but they have a permanent one in their now and they have a stable management staff who are in the process of remodeling and making it a top notch facility. I will be coming back to work there after I finish my BSN program! Keep up the good work Avamere at Sunnyside team!
