They had been treating my wife very well until tonight (she has been there about a week and a half). Tonight nobody seems to want to help her use a bedpan and then its too late and she can't hold it any longer so she is laying in numbers 1 and 2 and she is still waiting for someone to clean her up. Update: They finally cleaned her up, it must have been about three hours from the first time she called for them.

If your looking for the best nursing or rehab,thats Monterey The nurses techs and staff are the best.I have been in quite a few in the Columbus area none of them comes close to Monterey you ring for them they are there,they greet you with a smile the food is the best they fix it here.The therapist always greet you with a smile and they really work you in therapy.They have many activities,i can;t name then all,also ladies every monday you can get your nails polished,and its free.So go visit Maurice in admissions,he would be happy to show you around and answer any guestions you have.You can tell i really like Montery this is not my first time here . I have been at Monterey since April. I had just spent four months in another facility that did not give me therapy. Apparently there plan for me was to stay in the facility, being Hoyered from the bed to a wheelchair and back again. I was not happy with the prospective plan. I talked with my family about finding a facility that would provide me physical therapy. My daughter searched found Monterey. I am so happy I came to this facility. Their therapy department is top notch. Since I arrived in April, I have gone from having to be Hoyered from bed to chair and back again, to walking with a walker to the bathroom and from there walking to my power wheelchair. I walked 225’ the other day. I walk everyday, with leg strengthening exercises during my therapy session. I am leaving Monterey, and many friends. Nurses, therapists, STNAS, and many residents. Thankfully, I will be living with my daughter in Florida. My experience with Monterey has been caring, supportive attention. They made a difference in my life. I am forever grateful.

Having been in 2 other facilities before this one, I've got something to compare it to. It's really scary and depressing to find out you have to be admitted to any facility. But the staff here at Monterey made me feel safe , and welcome. They eased my fears and are very kind and compassionate. I can't say enough great things about the staff, from nursing to environmental to dining to therapy to activities. At 51 years old I never dreamed I'd be in a facility already. But I'm glad it's here. I appreciate every last staff member for making my stay here better than I could have ever expected. Thank you all

I've been here at Monterey for 2 weeks. I came because of my knee surgery. So grateful that this place was here to help me. Rehab to get back home. I have 14 steps to get up. The physical therapy are great. The nurses are great. The attendees abreast I didn't have any problem. I am a picky eater. But thank god they have another menu that you can always order from and that's a blessing for me It's been great. I recommend this for any therapy that you need.I have no Problems of any kind

This facility has been wonderful for my dad. Since he had a stroke over a year ago, his main goal has been to walk again. The therapists and aids have treated him so well and have not stopped working with him. The other facility he was in wrote him off and never planned to help him further it was a terrible time for him as he felt hopeless. The care here is so great and everyone has been so great with him. He has been walking long distances, and we are so pleased. Great Facility.

For the most part the staff are very caring and work hard to make sure the patients are well cared for. The therapy department is very good. The activity department works very hard to make sure there is activities for the residence and they also visit the ones who do not come out of their rooms. There is a very nice courtyard where the patients can sit and enjoy the birds and trees and just relaxing nature. Also the food is pretty dang good I would say.

I just want to sincerely thank everyone at Monterrey Care Center for level of care and support I received, not just at this time, but 8yrs ago after hip surgery, then 6yrs ago i came back after other hip surgery . Maurice Diles who managed my admission and got me in with no wait and was most politest person i ever met . Then there's Ms Cristy Foreman, who is the unit manager she was wth me 8yrs ago, 6yrs ago and now. She has made sure I had the proper care and was well taken care of in all respects. Hands on all the way wth me, she's become a dear friend I will never forget. The head nurses have been godsend. Amanda, who's also been here each time wth me foe past 8yrs taken such good care of me, right along wth Milly, Patricia and Danielle, who all seen me thru rough times, especially this time. I love each of them and respect them and all my aides. Misty, who has been wth me 8yrs also, their my angels, ALL OF THEM’•™ I want yo say thankyou to all of them for taking auch good care of me, right down to my social workers. The memory care unit is not up to standards, My brother's floor was so sticky that my shoes were stuck to it. I had to go tell them my brother needed his legs cleaned and bandaged because they were bleeding. I have seen the exposed electrical stuff by his headboard and holes in the wall. I was in for a pleasant surprise when I entered Monterey. The food was home cooked and warm. The PT, OT, and ST could have not been nicer and so supportive. I was very impressed. I went from not standing at all to standing 1.21 minutes in about 2 weeks. An accomplishment I didn’t expect. The nursing staff were very attentive, always getting my medication on time. My questions were always answered in a timely manor. Then, those STNAs, If you started out having a bad day, they had a way of turning that around. They are the most apathetic, caring, and positive people I have ever worked with. Olivia and Heather had me laughing even through the most embarrassing moments. I also had the privilege of talking and working with Christy, Unit Manager. She was a dynamite force when getting things done. Always putting the client first. I needed her in helping to make some final decisions. She never told me what to do but helped me work through the process in making the correct decision for me. She always had the unit running smoothly. I want to thank Maurice who was very thorough going through the works of Monterey until today as I am leaving. I would not hesitate a moment in recommending Monterey. In the bad situation I was in, want to thank all of you for making my visit a very pleasant one.

Nurse Misty and other nursing staff have been accommodating and helpful. Christy-unit mgr has been MIA. Leave messsges but no reply. Mom had a blanket go MIA a couple weeks back and still MIA. Finally got them to put her laundry in the basket I left so I can take home to wash. Only took about a month. Seems there was a big office staff switch. Not sure what that was about. Mom is doing well there and has good & bad days but overall being taken care of.

While nothing will compare to having your loved ones at home, Monterey is close in the nursing home field. I had my mother in there with dementia, after many tours of other facilities. Staff never answer the phone, and they are rude. My sister was here recovering from Sepsis during COVID so we could not visit, and the staff was terrible. They kept saying she didn't want to get better. Sepsis patients notoriously suffer from depression and anxiety, and the staff at Monterey were giving up and not encouraging. When she finally started trying, they were basically ignoring her. She started doing better, but not long after she wasn't feeling well again, and no one was doing anything. They kept saying she was fine. She wasn't fine. Her infection was back. Don't go here to recover and rehab.

Today is the first day of my mother's stay and already it's been a nightmare. First they couldn't produce a phone number for her room so that I could call to check on her and that was at 9:00 am so I went straight there. When I arrived her television didn't work, her phone didn't work and she had no trash can in her room. I was there for over 2 hours and was still trying to get a number for her before I had to leave now it is 4:40 pm and I just called back so I can speak to my mom and still can't get a number or even a transfer to her room because THEY DON'T KNOW THE NUMBER! I think I'm just going to bring here home in the morning. I will never recommend this place to any one. I want to update my post on how Monterey was taking care of my mother she has been there for 3 days now and is doing well they have addressed all of my concerns and even called me to see if there was anything else I wasn't happy with. My mother seems to be happy there and that's what's important to me. I will post another update in a few days hopefully by then I can give Monterey a 5 star rating.

I have a very close friend here, he been for a couple years. In all fairness to staff, feel your so understaffed, its hard to run each floor properly. Sure you try, but its not going well. Insuance or lack of payment should never dictate the level of care for any rehab patient. As Medicare or Medicaid only allows so many weeks on then off therapy. Makes no sense to allow this to just stop without trying to further help. Each step can be a milestone to independence, no one wants to be there. Your client should never need to wait more than 15 on a call light. Encoraging them outside on nice days. Outings should be done for every client able to go. Not on a waiting list they must fight to go do any shopping. Being an elder basically unit. Food must be prepared in portions and diet needs. But when it comes in burnt, over cooked till a pea turns white. Industrial food lacks a good basic look and lacks flavor. Seeing some of kitchen staff creations, well I feel you could much better.
