I haven’t been to visit yet but my dad seems to be doing well there. When they got my dad they sent him straight out for mental heath treatment and I appreciated that cause I had been telling people for 6 months he needed it and no one would listen. They seem to have gotten him the help he needed and they finally seem to have gotten his meds right. When you have been on the road we’ve been on with a loved one and they are FINALLY resting properly. It makes a huge difference in everyone thank yall for the treatment yall are currently providing for him.

This is a reply to Ms. Pace’s review. The resident in question was well taken care of and very happy at Laurelwood. She and the facility knows exactly why this review was left defaming the staff and facility and it has nothing to do with the care that the resident actually received. I encourage anyone who is looking for quality care for their loved one to do an in person tour of Laurelwood before taking this review to heart.

All staff encountered on latest visit, LaShea, Angela, Trina, and Kelly, were exceptionally friendly and took time to answer our questions regarding care being provided to my sister and to patiently listen to information we chose to share regarding our experiences with her prior to admission to Laurelwood. It is a blessing to know she is in the care of these caring and compassionate individuals.

The nurses and staff are always attentive to my mother’s needs. They never act annoyed or bothered no matter the problem. It truly feels like they care for her. The place is clean and her nutritional and medical needs are always addressed.

I sent an Easter Basket that was delivered to Laurelwood by USPS at 11:27 am on Thursday, April 6, 2023. I had tracking on the USPS Easter package. This Easter Basket was sent to give my sister-in-law's spirit a pleasant lift. My sister-in-law is a new resident at Laurelwood Nursing Home. I called Laurelwood on Saturday, April 8, 2023, to see if my sister-in-law received her Easter Basket. I spoke to Tae Green LPN and she told me that she was one of her nurses and she had not received any Easter Basket in the mail. She also advised me that it could be locked up in a Social Worker’s office or it may not have been delivered in the mail. Tae Green stated that nothing could be done until Monday which is after Easter. I was devastated. I called USPS for advice. They told me to contact the management at Laurelwood Nursing Home to locate and deliver the package. I left a voice message for the Administrator Chris Childress. I left a voice message for the Social Worker and another voice message for the Head of Nursing Service. On Sunday afternoon around 2:00 pm I received a call from Vonda the RN Supervisor. She advised me that the Administrator Chris Childress told her to locate the package and deliver it to my sister-in-law. Thank you to my sister-in-law Guardian Angels, Chris Childress, and Vonda for helping to provide me, my husband, and Annie a nice Easter Day. This review explains why I was not able to give Laurelwood Health Care Center 5 Stars review.

Laurelwood is an unexpected surprise. Grounds are kept very neat and the entrance has a very nice sitting area. The location is in a residential area so residents feel more at home, unlike any other community I visited in the Jackson area. The Administrator and staff were very professional and have made many improvements.

I visited Laurelwood Health Care Center to entertain the residents by playing the piano this afternoon. The residents who attended were quite enthusiastic and made me feel very welcome ! I was also greeted warmly by personnel as well! It was my first visit to Laurelwood but it certainly won't be my last! I have agreed with Crystal Watkins, the activities director, that I will come and play piano the first Thursday of each month! I look forward to serving the residents by providing entertaining piano music and friendly encouragement each time that I visit ! ‘

Our elderly Uncle of 71 was in this facility for 2 1/2 weeks and they did not give him one shower/sponge bath the entire time. Not one. And it was told at admissions to do so.. Every meal was cold...Every meal. He said the nurses were attentive and meds were delivered on time daily but the caregivers were incredibly rude and a few very hostile to any needs asked for. He was so worried about the backlash he pretty much just kept to himself in his room. He was there for both physically therapy and physiological care and not one therapist or even a counselor came to talk with him. We do not recommend anyone who you love to be sent to this facility. They talk a good talk when you're doing admission but the second you leave your love one is own and at the mercy of one kind person who may take interest in them. I am so incredibly disappointed. They should be ashamed of themselves.

My son has been a resident of Laurelwood for a few months now. Since he became a resident of Laurelwood his appearance, attitude and health have improved very much. Everyone there does a great job taking care of him. They are attentive and caring. The administrator, Sherry is very interactive with my son and the other residents. I thank God everyday for leading us to Laurelwood and for the care his is given. When I lay my head on my pillow at night, I know my son is safe and being well cared for. If I have questions they are always answered by Olivia, Sherry or any one of the nurses or staff. Thank you to everyone at this special place
