Impressed so far! Dad is there for strokes rehab. Staff is great and very helpful. This is a boot camp environment and expect to spend 3-5 hours a day in therapy. Only complaints are the food taste and not changing out his clothes enough.

My 89 yr old mother recently spent time in rehab with Encompass. I was very impressed with the care and compassion of the staff. It was much more than I expected and mom gained some strength back. Ryan, I believe an assistant, was amazing and patient with my mother. Alexa, my mother’s PT/OT, was able to inspire mom to keep going to get stronger. Alexa was a breath of fresh air for my ailing mother. Thank you Encompass, you are a true gem!!

I recently spent the better part of two weeks at this rehab hospital in a lovely section of Sarasota County. I could not be more pleased with the skill and care of everyone there and I do mean everyone. Even the staff who cleaned and transported you to your therapy sessions, showed an unusual amount of friendliness and were so conscientious in all that they contributed to my stay. Without the physical and occupational therapists who spent 3 hours with me everyday, I doubt that I would currently be happily in my own home now. A special shout out to Haley and Noah for their never ending patience and understanding. The doctors, nurses and technicians were, without exception, some of the most talented and friendly people that I have had the pleasure of knowing. I actually miss you all! Lest I forget, the three meals served daily were both delicious and nutritious. None of us look forward to illness, but should you find yourself in need of a rehabilitation facility, do consider Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Sarasota. Then, hopefully you, like me, will find yourself home again, as soon as you possibly can be.

I cannot begin to explain how wonderful the staff at this rehab hospital were with my mother. When life changed drastically to paralysis in a matter of days, we had no idea how mom would get to return to her independence. This rehab hospital was the first step on her journey back to her independence. Their staff was absolutely top-notch and could not have treated her better. Care was very good during stay. Doctors helpful as well as all staff. Therapy staff all were excellent. Case a manager very nice but I got misinformation a couple of times. The morning he was discharged was absolutely horrible. I had asked from the time I knew the date to be sure to have him ready by 8:00 The medical van was scheduled then to take him to the airport. I got there at 7:30 and he was sleeping! He was to have catheter bag changed to leg bag. He needed vitals and meds. Breakfast was out of the question. No time to show me how to care for catheter. I was to get safety belt. Didn’t. Many clothes were left there. It turned out his cell phone was at the bottom of dirty bedding. Lucky a friend got it to him at the airport. It was absolutely chaotic. I was nervous about the flight without this. Less than 48 hours later in Indiana he was taken by EMS to ER. He was diagnosed with UTI . Abscess on right kidney pneumonia and sepsis. He’s now in a nursing home for PT and 4 weeks of IV antibiotics. Who knows the source but he was extremely ill and probably not out of danger yet. It was difficult to rate with stars. That last day was less than zero.

CANNOT SAY THANK YOU ENOUGH!!! Encompass was the moon shot for my mom after her stroke. Either she would be able to stand, walk and go back to her awesome memory care, or she would need to move to skilled nursing. Every therapist and nurse, helper, etc was WONDERFUL with Mom and their attitudes were how can we help her succeed? They cared for her with compassion and met her where she was. This took a lot of creativity at times and they were SO up to the task. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. She is so happy back in her apartment at her memory care.

I spent 10 days at this Sarasota facility recovering from a back surgery. This is a professional organization managed to provide the best health care in the area. Once admitted and evaluated a rehab plan is defined and you are assigned to a therapy team. You have 3 hours of therapy a day. I was treated with respect and was "worked through" practicle exercises that returned strength enabling me to return home. The staff enjoys what they do and are very knowledgeable. This results from a positive work culture, as this attitude is displayed by everyone.

All of the nurses and staff were very kind and efficient. I enjoyed the physical therapy and the occupational therapy. I only have one suggestion. I wished that we had more exercises every day. I did accomplish a lot and got a lot stronger, but I think I could’ve gotten even stronger with more exercise exercises. There was a lot of time in physical therapy and occupational therapy, where you were just sitting waiting to do something.

Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital in Sarasota Florida is the best place to go for Rehab after surgery. The staff was so amazing! Nurse John was great! Natasha was super! I think Carmon is one of the best, i saw her in the hall one day as I was walking and said I wanted a shower, not realizing that she was not my nurse, but she took the time to give me a shower and she would not have it that I wanted to stand up. She took really good care of me. I appreciate her going over and beyond to help me eventhpugh she was not assigned to me that day. Nurse Santiango was so kind and gentle, he was always there to help. Wilkinson was amazing! If I rang my light he was there within 1 or 2 minutes. James was so awesome too. The night I got so sick, he was there for me. The respatory staff was so supportive and caring. The Dr's on Staff was great. Dr. Susan was my Cardologist she was so amazing and followed up on my BP and was there for me. John, Amber, Carlie, Ami, olivia, Ken all the staff in the small gym were superb. I learned alot from John. (Walk like it don't hurt) he was so amazing!!!! In the big gym I had Melissa C. And Tula they were really great. I live everyone there and the experience was amazing! The only thing that could be better is to make sure that everyone always has ice water all all times. Drinking water is important when you are on pain meds. The only person that did not impress me was a night shift lady name Lisa. She was short and rude. Showing up to the room and saying "What's Up" you don't say that to a patient. You say that to your friends. You ask. How can I help you, or what can I help you with. She dies not belong in that place. She is nor a people person. Thank you to the staff for all your live and support. I would recommend your place to anyone for Rehab. God bless you all for the great care you provide. Thank you a million times over.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital of Sarasota! I'm am as serious as I can be - my ENTIRE stay, 16 days, was exceptional! All the nurses that took care of me were soooooo wonderful that it's impossible for me to truly express all the details to describe the level of care they all showed me, except to say it was TOP SHELF care ! Not one time did the nurses ever rush through medications - they even took time to talk with me and answer any questions I had, or even just to chat a bit. It was really important to me to have my medications verbalized to me as they popped them into my cup, especially since the pharmacy made many mistakes that otherwise wouldn't have been caught! And the nurses never left me without asking me if I needed anything, or if they could get something for me ! All nurse's aides were wonderful, exceptionally kind, always smiling and helpful. Now comes the THERAPY - PT & OT ‘! Again, I can't say enough about the level of care and attention they took with me - always helpful, always diligent with getting me into exercising and groups! AND WHAT A GYM ‘‘, WOW, they had everything we could possibly need for focused rehabilitation! Often times I had trouble getting there, personal struggles, but that did not matter to them. These therapists did everything to get me there - what's better than that!? Awesome! Oh and the FOOD - the food was unbelievably FANTASTIC! Highly recommend Encompass! My 94 year old father broke his hip and needed acute care after surgery. The entire experience was positive. My Dad’s care team was exceptional. Attentive and friendly nurses and CNAs. The OT and PT teams motivated my father to do the work to get him on his way to being independent again.
