I laid in the hospital withering in tears of pain. NO ONE came, not even to straighten a blanket. Your staff prepared a bed, warm blankets, tender eyes and words. Not just when I arrived but every day. They listened, comforted, professionally but kindly took care of my needs and their duties. God supplied my emotional, physical and spiritual needs in your care. The doctors as well as the staff brought me healing. God bless you!

Our experience was exceptional. The individual attentiveness was just what mom needed. At 91, mom after a fractured hip - was sent here for therapy. She went from hardly moving to - getting up unassisted and walking with the walker. Thank you Ashley, Leanna, Taylor and sweet Farrah. I could write a book on how much you cared, listened and helped mom come home.

My mom recently had the pleasure of receiving exceptional care at Encompass Health Rehab, & I can't express enough how impressed I am with the entire experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, professional, & genuinely dedicated to ensuring the best possible outcomes. The facility is clean & comfortable, promoting healing & well-being. A huge shoutout to the dedicated person who washes the entire facility's floors every day at 7pm—though I don't know his name, his hard work over the past 18 days hasn't gone unnoticed. The doctors were equally outstanding, always available to answer questions & provide the highest level of medical care. Their attention to detail & commitment to patient welfare were evident in every interaction. Tina, case manager, & April, from Administration, were also instrumental in coordinating care & ensuring a smooth transition from the hospital to the rehab & eventually back home. Their efforts made the entire process seamless & reassuring. My mom was hospitalized for 3months in Critical ICU since April. She wasn't walking; she got a wound that wasn't taken good care of. Therefore, I want to recognize a certain individual by name for the outstanding care, kindness, professional, expertise, very thorough, knowledgeable, they provided above & beyond care to my mom: Ian, Carl, Freddie Puja, Kaitlyn and Adis the Nurses. Bishnu, Yobana and Norah, the Techs. Rajpal, the Wound Nurse, how much her expertise is amazing on how she was able to treat the wound that was caused at the hospital. The therapists; Mame, Ashley & Sabrina, Physical. Kara, Occupational & Lizzie, Speech. Rajpal, Nutritionist. I don't want to forget recognizing & appreciating all the hard work & commitment to the entire Kitchen team, Malibu, Mary, Patrick, Roberto, Doug, another cook whose forgot his name. Mom & I truly appreciate them all. I'm profoundly grateful for the exceptional care provided by Sandra, Dialysis nurse who went above & beyond in every aspect of her role. Her deep knowledge & professionalism were evident in every interaction, instilling a sense of trust & reassurance in a challenging time. Her caring nature & genuine kindness were a constant source of comfort & strength, making each treatment session not just bearable but positively uplifting. The love & compassion she brought to her work were truly remarkable. Her dedication & heartfelt approach have made an indelible impact, & her exceptional service has been a beacon of hope & healing. Thank you for all you do—your extraordinary efforts have made a world of difference. Additionally, I can't forget the front desk ladies whose smiles brightened our days from the moment we walked into the facility until we left. Their warm welcome & professionalism showed the deep care they've for patients & families. It truly touched our hearts when we saw how genuinely happy, they were for my mom, celebrating her successful recovery & journey home. I want to express my deepest gratitude & heartfelt appreciation for the kindness & care everyone showed my mom during her stay July 14 - 31, 2024. The way you taught her to be independent again was truly remarkable. Your expertise, patience, commitment, & attention to detail were instrumental in helping her walk again & ensuring she was comfortable throughout her stay. Mom was genuinely touched by the sincere care & kindness provided after such a long & challenging time in the hospital. Your support not only lifted her spirits but also made a profound difference in her recovery. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being such a bright light on her journey to wellness. What truly sets Encompass Health apart is the sense of community & support they foster. The exceptional care & support we received from the staff went above & beyond to create a positive & motivating atmosphere, making a challenging time much more manageable. A very good friend of mine told me about encompass health. My mother was there for a week and he was absolutely right on saying that Encompass was top notch!! All the staff and therapists were outstanding. They all absolutely fell in love with my mother, her personality was contagious. My mother was recovering from a stroke and I couldn't be more satisfied with everyone at Encompass. We thank you for everything!!

August 2024 Again our mother fell down and she had hip replacement. After 5 days being in the hospital as we requested they took my mother again to this facility. Everything in this rehab is OK and stuff is very nice and helpful. However, yesterday my mom nurse Sharda and technician Bikshya were so rude and impolite towards us and my mother. The Nurse Sharda was available and free to help us to take my mother but she didn't do so and she stated the technician should do this. Bikshya took my mother to the bathroom after 20 mins waiting for them and unsupervised left my mother in the bathroom for us to take care of her and told us to call when she is done, While my mother can not stay unsupervised because she can fall again. I went and spoke to Mrs Kathryn the Supervising Nurse and asked her to change the nurse and never again assigned them to my mom's room for her rest of the staying in this rehab and she gently listened to me and she did exactly what we asked her to do and apologized for what happened. She is such nice and great person. The only problem with this place is that Nurses and technicians are not fast enough to go to the patient room and some of them are not even happy when you call them. There are Nurse like Ian has so much attitude and not very kind to the patient. To clean the room and bathroom you have to go and complain to the Nurse station and they are not coming everyday. My mom, case manager Mrs Melissa and physical therapist are so kind and willing to help any way possible they can. Overall it is a good and clean environment but you better be there for your loved ones especially when they cant speak for themself.

My stay at Encompass was great. The staff was caring and very professional. The facility was clean and very well kept. Nights were quiet and i was able to get my rest. They gave me the tools i needed to get strong enough to come home and be able to get around and take care of myself. I highly recommend.

The OT, PT and speech therapist are amazing - loved the OT Hannah's enthusiasm and her cheerful and compassionate disposition. Equally very pleased with the PT Margaret who was amazing. The nurses were all pretty good. At night, I especially liked Yang, Dash and Abdul. The doctors were knowledgeable, and helpful. In retrospect, I kind of wish they had given me more advice on what to expect when I stopped taking the strong pain medicine when I got home - or helped me start to taper them down when in rehab. Some tech nurses were great. I remember David (day tech nurse) and Jessica (night tech nurse) who were very helpful and compassionate. I would like to especially thank Melany, a redhead tech nurse who was never "my tech nurse" but was tremendously helpful. She came quite a few times to help me when my tech nurse was too busy. Some other tech nurses, especially at night, were lacking some compassion and knowledge, it was more a job for them than a vocation. it felt like the place was somewhat quite understaffed, especially in the evening hours. At times, it would take them at least 15 minutes to come when I called them, so a bathroom trip took around 40 minutes. They need a better system to manage patient calls, more personnel to attend to patients need and round on them when there are no issues. Overall I felt prepared when I got home. I would recommend Encompass Health.

I'm posting my experience at Encompass because there may be individuals who have never been injured or sick before; and truly are willing to do the work to get back on their feet. You may be wondering whether you should receive your therapy at a skilled nursing care facility i.e. nursing home. DON'T DO IT! Encompass is where you want to be to get better; you, need the total care package which equals Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Northern Virginia. You'll have knowledgeable doctors, nurses, and therapist who care for your body as if it's their own, the latest most up to date equipment and facility, your nutritional needs met; good, food was of paramount importance for me. If you can't eat well you can't get well is my motto. Most importantly the staff works as a complete team from admissions to care to discharge. The case workers make sure you're leaving with any of the necessities you may need at home to continue your recovery. Yes, I know the aforementioned, equals the total recovery package. Update arrived for my 4th stint at Encompass. Things have changed. The physical and occupational therapy are still the best in the area. The nursing portion of the of the rehab has taken a turn for worst. The wound care was less than adequate I'm being discharged with an infection in my wound that I did not arrive with. I said earlier if you can't eat well you cannot heal. The director of food services has moved on and the quality of the meals has went with him. If you need rehab this is still the best place to receive physical and occupational therapy. I give this stay two and a half stars until they correct the aforementioned items. Hello, I'm Eddie Menefee with a update that potential patients should take notice of. After being discharged from Encompass with an infection in my wound that I did not arrive with. I find myself back in the hospital as a result. I received poor wound care at Encompass and therefore need to return to the hospital for wound care and rehab. Encompass refused me admission. They say because they could not admit me for the same issue I was admitted for before. I feel they should admit me because they are the reason I'm back in the hospital. One of their nurses didn't follow protocol somewhere along the dressing changes the packing wasn't removed. Which has resulted in the infection. I knew this would not end well for me, when the decision to discharge me with the infection was made. I know it is a business but when a mistake is made with wound care Encompass should be eager to right the mistake. Potential patients should know that wound care in this instance was poor. The physical therapy and occupational therapy is still top notch.

When my Dads life was on the line due to a sudden brain aneurysm, their staff went above and beyond to care for him with such compassion and tenderness that it felt like a miraculous intervention. And when I faced my Moms struggles after her hip surgery, they didn't just mend her body - they ignited a flame within my soul. Their unwavering support and unwavering guidance propelled me to a recovery that exceeded even my wildest expectations.
