Therapy is good, Megan is a good doctor. I have heard nothing but bad opinions about Dr. Cole. I never see him, I've been here since April and I've seen him about four or five times, for a few seconds each time. Activities is great, and the CNA's are for the most part good. CNA's and Nurses are over worked, because higher up's will not hire or allow more people to work at a time. The people who actually work here daily are great, it is just miss managed behind the scenes. They rely heavily on agency or traveling nurses, this results in lack of knowledge about patients and out of compliance distribution times for medicines. The food is horrendous and they serve leftover sides most days. We just had greens one night for dinner (undercooked). Greens and mashed potatoes with a chicken patty the next day for lunch, and grilled chicken with greens and mashed potatoes for dinner that night. When you ask for a replacement a lot of times it takes 2-3 hours before it is brought up to you, sometimes a CNA has to go down and get the food due to laziness in the kitchen or lack of communication; even if you asked for something as simple as a PB&J. I am given dirty cups or dirty silverware almost daily. They keep going through head chefs, and they seem to be getting worse with each one. The whole kitchen should have a supervisor over them at all times. There is no importance placed on a patients dietary restrictions or preference. They ask you what you like and do not like and then pay no attention to it, which is basically a slap in the face. I have had two different roommates with diabetes, and they are constantly given regular sodas; and fed a high startch diet. I have seen them serve us mashed potatoes and french fries on the same tray of "food". Today we both had tater tots, mac and cheese, and garlic bread, all starches. Then they said that they have to see what they have, when he said he couldn't eat that. Corprate is ruining the job for kind hearted employees, and a good place to live while having great therapy for it's residents. I feel sorry for the people that are stuck here indefinitely. It is apparent that the money paid in order to stay here is going in higher up's pockets, and not into employee spending and patient care.

This is an impressive nursing home, from the Administration to the CNA's. They care and have compassion for the residents which is hard to find these days. Teamwork, friendliness, compassion. They have the recipe for good nursing care.

My husband has dementia and I tried for a very long time to keep him at home. I did not want to put him in a nursing home. Time went on and I was put in a position I had no choice. Blue Ridge has been awesome! Their second floor staff are truly called by God. That's exactly how they look at it also . My fears have been calmed because I watch the care they give on a daily basis. This is exactly why I believe God placed him here.

My daughter was there until she passed away. Everyone I met was very knowledgeable, friendly and in my opinion went above and beyond to take care of her. She wasn't always friendly but the staff was always professional and caring. Even the dietary department would always help with things she liked over over things.
