My mom was at this rehab facility for three weeks. During that time she was well cared for by all of the staff and special recognition must go to the nursing staff and the physical therapists. In particular Cecile was absolutely fabulous in her patience and desire to improve my condition. Joni, the Director of Customer Relations, made sure that every care team member understood the importance of excellent patient care and positive attitudes towards patients and their families. From the person at the front desk to Lisa, the care coordinator, to the activity staff we were very comfortable having our mom recover from hip surgery at this facility.

These remarkable women cared for my father every day, helping him get out of bed, assisting him with his daily needs, changing him when necessary, and making sure he was comfortable and treated with dignity and respect. Their work is physically and emotionally demanding, yet they carried it out with patience, kindness, and compassion. They were always willing to help, always attentive, and always greeted us with a smile. I would also like to recognize the staff members who brought my father his breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day. Their friendly interactions and attention to his needs helped make his stay more comfortable and pleasant. A heartfelt thank you as well to the housekeeping staff who kept my father's room clean, orderly, and welcoming throughout his stay. Their hard work contributed greatly to creating a safe and comfortable environment for both patients and visitors. The Physical Therapy staff deserve special recognition for their expertise, encouragement, and commitment to helping patients regain their strength and independence. Their hard work, support, and encouragement played an important role in my father's progress and recovery. Unfortunately, I do not remember everyone's names; otherwise, I would gladly recognize each person individually. Please know that my appreciation extends to every member of the team who contributed to my father's care. Each of you made a meaningful difference, and your efforts did not go unnoticed. Nursing/Care staff are warm, friendly, helpful, and kind. Maintenance staff are extremely helpful and responsive. Despite the modern-looking exterior and lobby entrance, the facility is extremely outdated ” particularly on the long-term care floors. The bathroom sink fixtures are difficult to use, the water pressure is inconsistent, and the facility in general has an old and dated feel. My sister also complains that the food tastes terrible.

Our experience at Sprainbrook Manor has been positive. Everyone has been providing exceptional care for my husband The aides consistently, work very hard to make sure my husband’s needs sere met. Sarah, the head nurse, provided outstanding care. She is knowledgeable, caring and The other nurses were excellent and made sure my husband’s needs got his meds on time. They were very efficient. I cannot say enough about Lisa! She is amazing. She works hard and goes above and beyond to arrange transportation for patients. I’m never been a patient of theirs, but I’m thankful to have experienced their kindness regardless. I had a distressing experience the day after Christmas - it had me upset in the parking lot, sobbing, frantically calling a taxi, and the unprompted staff response & the care they showed made me cry. The security guard checked in on me, offered me coffee and a place to take a break, and made sure I was okay. They wanted to make sure I wasn’t cold and kept an eye on me as I waited for my car It was a very human exchange at a time when those can be few and far between. I’m grateful.

From the moment you walk into SBM, you can feel the homey feeling of the facility. My mother was in Sprain Brook Manor for 3 month following leg surgery when a plate was placed in her leg for a broken femur. This place was amazing! The physical therapy staff were the best! She received both physical and occupational therapy 6 days a week. The therapists were extremely professional and very caring and compassionate. The nursing staff was on top of everything and the aides were always ready to assist. My mother was very comfortable and I truly appreciate the excellent job they did. The administrative staff and social workers were also excellent and wonderful to work with especially with setting up in home physical therapy. My mother came home on Saturday and a nurse came to the house on Sunday to evaluate my mother for in home therapy. Absolutely no time wasted! I really can't say enough good things about this place. I've had my mother in other facilities in the past for other issues but Sprain Brook is by far the best. I am truly grateful for them for giving my mother such wonderful care.

Very pleased with the service our family is receiving at Sprain Manor. The facility makes us feel like family. The assistance from Social Services (Sandra)has been very helpful and a pleasure to work with. Our case manager is very professional and knowledgeable. The nurses and aides on the 2nd floor are remarkable and caring and provide a loving and happy environment The physical therapy group is excellent and also very supportive. Although skeptical at first, JC our initial contact assured us we would be happy. He was absolutely correct and has himself been very helpful. We are totally grateful and very thankful as my sister is greatly benefiting from this wonderful group.

Happy New Year, I went today to check out the facilities @ Sprain Brook Manor. In Scarsdale,NY for my mother that’s in Mount Sinai West in NYC she can’t go home because she’s not able to walk, the manager (JC -very informative,personal and caring ) call me and said I can come anytime to check out the facilities. He show me around the whole place, and introduce me to the staff and made me feel comfortable!!!!! about putting my mother there, a few years ago she went to a nursing home in New Rochelle and this place was horrible! They had 15 patients to 1- nurse/care worker !!!!!! this was to much and would just leave the elderly in a corner I wanted to make sure she wasn’t going in this environment again !!! So, far this place look Excellent!!!!! In addition to this you can see your one 24/7 !!!!! that’s awesome!!!!!!! Thank you, Denise

Most of the time when you ask for updates on your loved ones progress they are receptive and forthcoming. The whole staff is great. A lot of comments from social workers is NOT always welcome. I do the best I can to visit him as often as I can. Not everyone can sit with their loved one for hours every day, although I wish I could. Some people work full time jobs & have to do more because they aren't getting the help they need. My husband & I used to do everything together from grocery shopping to yard work. FYI, when I visit my husband, sometimes he is still sleeping.

My mother spent a week here. The place is clean and updated compared to Adira, but completely short staff with nurses which is why I only can give two stars. Be very weary of falls happening at night. The nurses/aids can be VERY shady with documenting these falls. I was told my mother fell 5 mins after rounds one time and I heard a staff member say they assisted her in her fall, so that the facility wouldn't get written up again. My mother fell 3x in a week, with the first fall being night one and no one having a clue how long she was lying on the floor. The night staff was even known to take the phone off the hook. I was there on a daily basis for about 8 hours. The rehab team is great and patient. Nicole (aid) really helped to ensure my mother was happy and moving around. She really knows how to control a situation and maintain her cool. Joni and reception were very welcoming and helpful too. Unfortunately, I had to bring my own thermometer and pulse oxygen monitor because it simply wasn't checked often enough. The facility doesn't provide enough attention to those that need oxygen. Within this week, I was told they don't like to push oxygen (when clearly her levels showed she needed it), tanks went empty overnight and even during the day and not replenished. Sadly, that's the failure on our system as a whole. The hospitals force people into these homes for rehab even if they need more care than the nursing homes can provide. It wasn't until one of the NP's took the time to see my mother needed more care and called the ambulance to transfer her back out. The do allow dogs which is a plus.

We transferred mom to Sprain Brook Manor from another facility (awful experience at the other facility!) four months ago and continue to be very impressed with the care she is receiving. Ben the administrator truly cares about the facility - he is easily accessible and willing to listen. We’ve had nothing but wonderful experiences with him. The whole nursing staff, the nursing supervisor Jacqui, and Gilbert and Charles from PT are all very professional and OUTSTANDING! They truly care about their patients and ALWAYS have time to discuss anything we need to understand (which was frequent). The Social Service Dept (Loan and Sandra) have been SO helpful and we never could have navigated any of this without them! They stay on top of everything and are simply WONDERFUL! We cannot praise the nursing staff, PT, and the social workers enough and are very, very thankful for every single one of them. Tina and Jennalyn (Admissions and Finance) have answered endless questions from my family and never ran out of patience Jackie is so kind and patient and plans fun events to entertain the patients - mom loves Jackie and her favorite is bingo. Lisa has thoroughly arranged transports for mom. The ladies at the front desk are ALWAYS so pleasant. We are hoping to bring mom home soon but would not hesitate to return to Sprain Brook Manor should she need more care. Thank you to everyone there who has genuinely cared for our mom!

I was skeptical because of past reviews years ago. I wanted my mom close to me where I live. My wife was in rehabilitation places so knew what to expect. The thing is they are soooo much better. The crew is very caring. Very responsive. Happy. Great attitudes. The doctors. Wound doctor. Pt. The nurses. The nurses assistants. The receptionists great attitudes. I feel good leaving her there everyday with the staff. Give them a try because I promise you it’s far the best I ever seen.

My rehab stay at Sprain Manor was almost three months. My experience with the nurses and therapists with whom I dealt was entirely satisfactory. They were all commendable. However there was one physical therapist, Gilbert Ababa, who stood out. He just knew how to bring me along in stages for the greatest effect. For example, going up and down one or two steps on stairs was, at the start, a real effort. At the end, I was able to go up and down a dozen steps in a stairwell. My stay at Spring Brook Manor was a very positive experience overall. Let’s get the bad right out of the way. The rooms are outdated and in need of a rehab themselves and the maintenance and engineering staff do their best. That’s it that’s the bed. Let’s start with the nursing staff could not expect any more out of these nurses even when they are shorthanded they are always very responsive and ready willing and able to take care of any needs that may arise. The nursing staff was absolutely incredible very caring understanding made me laugh a lot in a situation that nobody wants to be in a nursing home for close to four months. Shout out to John G Joe Elvi Charmaine. Also shout out to all the nursing aids who have a very tough job but we’re always there for the most part when you rang the bell they were very attentive. Now let’s go to the recreation activities Staff Shout out to JC Jackie Courtney these people made us feel at home with multiple activities to do I’m various times of the day such as aerobics model making painting movie nights and karaoke nights poker nights bingo. The activities there were numerous and or a great break from laying in bed and watching TV and looking out at the window wondering when you would ever get to go home. No it’s the most important part of this rehab the physical therapy group that is in-house is just exceptional I cannot say enough about this Group of people who come every day to work to deal with people with multiple injuries and disabilities. This exceptional group of people I have the patience of an angel and the dedication to each patients. I do not believe I would be where I am right now without the dedication and the persistence of my physical therapy staff. Shout out to Gilbert who is this the most incredible physical therapist I believe I have ever had in my entire life and I’ve had a few he is incredibly patient he demands more from you each day whether you can or cannot do it he makes you laugh and in general it’s a whole group of physical therapist there are always just in a very good mood and always laughing and smiling under very tough circumstances with patients that have multiple disabilitiesShout out to Gilbert and McCartney One last shout out to the kitchen staff for dealing with some of my demands I really appreciate it. One last thing I wanna have a shout out for Richie who also facilitated and getting me salads bigger salads and coaxing the kitchen staff to work with me I appreciate it Richy Also shout out to Jose in maintenance facilities for doing the best job you can Again I gave this four stars just because of the outdated rooms but if you’re looking for a place to send a family member this is the place don’t look at the rooms look at the facility look at the people trust me I’m very picky and this place is the place for me if I ever have to go back So in recap no one wants to go to a nursing home or physical therapy living facility but if you have to go I highly recommend a Sprain Brook matter thank you

During my time at Sprain Brook Manor Rehabilitation, after being referred by another individual woods loved one was there, I just say we could not be happier with our decision. The overall care, cleanliness, the phenomenal staff care, and the attention by medical team, from medical director to Nurse practitioner, is perfect. The rehab team, pushes but are compassionate, lovig and understanding to the need of the patient. One important thing, they are beyond respectful and minindful f out religious beliefs. We thoroughly enjoyed the ability of going outside to get se fresh air during these timew. We couldn't have done this iyout the help of Joni, she is amazing. My good friend has lives on the 4th floor of SBM for over 2 years. Because I live so far away I am not able to visit. Luckily he does have visitors who check on him regularly, and they report that he has adjusted, through the support of the staff of this house, to embrace this stage of his life at 99 years come this February. I had such a wonderful experience at Sprain. Starting from the moment i walked in with my grandmother Thelma, the receptionist Gloria was so pleasant and kind. We were brought up to our room and the nurse supervisor answered all our questions. Therapy started right away and we were on the road to recovery with the help of Edward PT and Kelly OT. The therapy worked miracles with Grandma and i am so grateful. The food was delicious and dietitian Melissa was so kind to bring up all grandmas favorite foods. The nurse Mara greeted me daily with a big smile and kept the family in the loop at all times. Lastly, to Akiva, the Administrator who literally does it all. Whether mopping floors, giving out food trays, singing karaoke with the residents and helping paint doors Akiva was always there for us and always went out of his way at all times days and late nights to make us feel comfortable and happy. God bless Sprain!!
