It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such capable and compassionate hands. You can tell the staff really care about what they do”it never felt rushed or impersonal. The facility itself was clean, well-maintained, and had a calm, positive atmosphere. Communication was also a huge plus for us; we were kept updated regularly, which meant everything during a stressful time. Rehabilitation services were excellent as well. We saw real progress, and the therapists were encouraging, knowledgeable, and supportive every step of the way. Choosing a care facility for someone you love is never easy, but CareOne in East Brunswick made that decision feel like the right one. I'm here now, going on 10 days. Don't agree with or understand all the one-star reviews. I don't have time for lengthy rebuttal, but food is fine, and you can also get between-meal snacks. Therapists are friendly, and flexible on scheduling if you're a late sleeper, etc. They'll even work with you in your room if you can't/don't want to go to the gym. My only beef, as a (very light) smoker, is that they no longer offer outdoor smoke breaks (I had a stay here a year or two ago, and you could still get your occasional nicotine fix; but they'll give you patch, or if you find the right doctor or nurse, order you gum or lozenges). Not a hotel, and not paradise, but they try, and for the most part, get the job done. (I'd rate 3.5 stars if that was an option; maybe I'll go to four by the time my stay is over.)

I've just completed five weeks of physical rehab from a significant leg injury. The stay also required a high degree of medical care with regards to administering antibiotics and other drugs. Througout my entire stay, I have found the entire staff of Care One be polite, friendly, professional and capable. All of my nurses aids were genuinely friendly and caring and attentive to my needs. They went over and above their required roles to make my stay very comfortable. Care One has an extensive number of physical and occupational therapy staff . I had the pleasure of dealing with at least ten of these staff members. Each one of them them treated me and the other patients with genuine care and I was fully confident with their expertise. I cannot speak more highly of the nursing staff who took care of me. They were timely with all of my medications and also provided for my extra treatment of IV antibiotics and other drugs. They were also always available for any extra questions or advice. They were always friendly with a positive attitude and would stop to take care of any necessary needs that I had. The nurse's front desk staff were available to handle my extensive needs that I had regarding transport to my surgeon's office and in dealing with any administrative issues. The social services staff were also genuinely friendly and encouraging and would make personal visits to inform and encourage participation (if interested) in the many activities that were provided. I cannot speak more positively of my experience at Care One. I highly recommend it

after reading all these reviews I had to write my own..My grandmother loves it there and they have so many activities for the residents to do. They take great care of her and she has no complaints. It's sad I see a lot of these residents don't get visitors. And my grandma is the first person to complain. They take them out and take good care of these ppl. When you walking in your greeted kindly and help you with what ever. Also they give updates everyday about how her mother is doing and if anything needs to been done medical wise. Again all this negative talk from ppl I don't get and have never witnessed it first hand and I visit her a lot.. I would totally recommend this great establishedment. Oh and to say this place is dirty is far from the truth it is one of the cleanest places my grandmother has been in and make sure she she is clean and they can get there hair done I think once a month. Please don't listen to these miserable comments.

I just recently completed a ten day stay on the short term rehab side of the facility after hip surgery. The pt and ot staff were phenomenal- 5 out of 5. Laura Clarke, Radika and Brittany were exceptional! The entire pt and ot team work collaboratively and professionally. I was particularly happy with three rn’s Mark, Martin and Dudley and there were a few cna’s worth noting- Brittney, Priscilla and Jennifer. All worked hard and were responsive when you used your call bell! I did have a few night shifts where response from aides or nurses was way too slow. Generally rns were a 4 and aides were a 3 or 2 out of 5 . Maintenance, especially Nelson, was a 5 out of 5, nothing was a problem! Also, the room was cleaned every day I was there. My only real criticism was the food. It was beyond disgusting. Fish and chicken and hamburgers totally overcooked and dried out. I resorted to ordering turkey sandwiches or having family bring food to me. Also, please dim the chandeliers in hallways at night so patients can sleep!

Overall good care. Of course, weekends have less staff, but the nursing staff tries hard to care for patients. Physical and occupational therapy are doing an amazing job with my husband. John from Maintenance/ Housekeeping, as well as his staff, has been available when needed. The room is kept clean, and whatever we've requested in terms of fixing or even getting a fan because the room is warm has been addressed immediately. Updating to five stars. We had an issue with the temperature of his meals (the quality is okay - it's hospital food. People can't expect Michelin rated food). Anyway, the head of the kitchen stopped by and addressed our concerns. My husband's meals have been MUCH better!

Please read the reviews. We chose this facility for logistical reasons for elderly relative. Bedpans are not brought--instead they make them use diapers and then they lay there. Despite being advised she needs brief assistance at mealtime, many times it is not being done. The one positive is the physical therapy. This chain is known as "Care None" where I live; I should have known better. Oh and if the person doesn't have a cell phone, don't expect to get through to them. Many times we call, only to be hung up on or it just rings forever.

Presently in the sub acute section for rehabilitation for a fractured tibia & post spinal neck fusion.Day Five! Today my room was finally swept & a garbage can provided. Finding there is limited communication & no routine, basically placed in room by EMS squad. Nothing given or available for instructions covering fire, nurse, aid covering shifts walls are blank. Room number isn’t even present. Hand held instrument to call nurse & operate TV. Nurse call button once pressed can take up to an hour or so for a Tech to come in, Including when left on toilet. To be fair there are Several techs & Nurses who are outstanding, must mention Nurse Dudley who actually brings ice water with medications. Also food services is very good. Only mid size water glasses are given as plastic pictures are not available. The actual rehab people Winston especially are exceptionally caring & no complaints. Summary One would think daily medications would be administered basically the same time period daily.not given through out the morning even when required earlier. I personally have been in other area rehab centers after knee replacements. I never experienced the inadequacy as I find here. Also one would think the floor supervisor would make rounds & monitor activity. . Tragic when people are in a basically helpless painful state & treated so poorly.

Social worker Emily was a big help. Occupational therapist Kayla went above and beyond. Some nurses were more attentive than others. The aides were not aware my dad had a broken pelvis so that was not communication. He was very uncooperative but they tried. John hospice nurse was such a comfort and my dad is going home under their care.

My father just completed 4 weeks of rehab at Care One East Brunswick. To say we were impressed would be an understatement. From the receptionist at the front door to the kitchen staff, our experience has been top notch. The nurses, aides, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapist, social workers, administrative staff, kitchen staff...we were thoroughly impressed by the level of care, concern, support and understanding my father and the family received. A few special accolades are in order. Jennifer and Yona, you deserve a medal for the care you provided to my Dad. Always pleasant and willing to help, and never said "I can't". Beth in PT....incredible. So caring and supportive and encouraging. Marvin...always willing to listen and take time out to address any concerns. Emily in social work...caring and compassionate, hard worker and patient. Judy at the front desk...always pleasant and welcoming and sweet. Lastly, the kitchen staff was fantastic. My dad loved the food! If he needed something extra, they would deliver in record speed. There were so many others who were fantastic but whose names I didn't learn. My father was here to recover from an infection with antibiotics and PT. He began making improvements but then caught Covid. He died three weeks later while still in this facility. His physical therapists were lovely but I was frustrated by lack of communication and errors, one of which may have contributed to the outcome. My decision to place him here will haunt me for the rest of my life.
