It's amazing that there are so many great reviews, but I can assure you not everyone sees it that way. My experiences has been very bad for the past year+ that I've been here. I find the care extremely negligent, staff uncaring and unprofessional - they fail to accurately assess patients needs and abilities, so limited improvement. Food is horrible, so I've lost weight. I plan to get out ASAP, with family help. Can't wait!!!

My 93 year old mother was in a rehab for 3 weeks, she was declining. We transferred her to Stella Maris . Within 2 weeks at Stella Maris mom was stronger , capable of walking, dressing her self , and had her happy spirit back. Everyone at Stella Maris was exceptional . Extremely kind, caring & helpful. Mom loved the food and place was very clean! Excellent patient care , and outstanding rehabilitation outcomes.

Mom was in their memory care unit for a year before spending a day on their hospice floor. Throughout her time there we were exceedingly grateful for the attentive and personal care she received. There was a nice view out of her window, and every time I asked her how she was doing, she replied, "Fantastic!" The pastoral staff was very accommodating in allowing us to use their wonderful chapel for her memorial service, and several staff came forward during the service to speak about their personal experiences with her. The building was always clean and well-maintained, and the women who handled the intake process and, later, the finances - especially the transition from private pay to Medicaid - were unfailingly helpful, courteous, and understanding. I can't think of anything more that I would ask from such a facility. On behalf of our entire family, thank you. Thank you.

The place is incredibly quiet and has ample parking. Nursing is understaffed in the newer rehab building and doesn't relay information to the doc on staff, so inappropriate medications were administered far longer than they should have been despite being questioned repeatedly. Hard to get answers on anything - hard to FIND people to ask questions. Social worker happy to bully elderly man into using their services when they know Medicare rules state patients can use whomever they wish. Thankfully I was able to help him get things sorted. Their pt/ot staff are phoning it in. The young lady who helped get my mom cleaned up was amazing, however. Can't say enough good things about her. Food often arrived dead cold. Food QUALITY was fine, temperature sucked. Equipment was all in good shape, room was clean. She was checked on regularly. They have portable radiology equipment on site, which I appreciated - it made checking her chest much easier. I would not say this was the worst, nor was it the best rehab. I wouldn't write this place off entirely if they're available but it wouldn't be my first choice. If you're able to advocate for yourself or your loved one, this place should be okay.

Between my mother and father, I've dealt with seven different rehab / long-term care facilities. Stella Maris is by far the best. The staff is very responsive - almost always dealing with whatever concern or request you have within 10 minutes. A stark contrast to other facilities I've dealt with where 45 minute or hour waits are common. The place is impeccably clean and the decor is amazing. The staff are friendly and attentive. I am constantly kept up-to-date on what's going on with my mother with phone calls. The medical care available on-site is extensive. There is a full-size chapel (church) on-site. My family isn't even Catholic, and we were allowed to use this facility for the funeral of a family member so my mother could attend. I can't speak more highly of this place. The only potential problem I could see someone having is that it's a big facility and some of the long-term care rooms are far from the entrance. So if someone that has trouble walking is going to be visiting your loved one regularly with no help, it might not be the best fit. Of course that is just the circumstances though and is no fault of their own. So impressed.

I Went to Stella maris to visit a family member today.We got hungry and was directed to the cafeteria. Upon arriving my two young children and I were greeted upon staff fighting over chicken wings like 3 middle school children. After they argued they went walking away from the station to go tell whoever was in charge on each other leaving us standing there. My children didn't come to visit family to see 3 adults acting in this manner I hope management can really uplift this weekend staff .
