Reviews Powell Nursing Care
April 2020
From the outside this facility looks very nice, The housekeepers definitely do their job well and keep it very clean, but take it from an inside worker it's not that great of a place. I worked in the care center for about a year and quit in May. I worked as an NSA and got to experience firsthand how a lot of the CNA's treated and cared for the residence, and how supervisors handled situations. A lot of the CNA's do not do checks as regularly as they are supposed to, residents are not changed as often as they should be, some residents are left to sleep in their bed until mid afternoon and barely checked on. Many of the residence belongings are not properly taken care of and thrown about the room, during feeding times a lot of the staff end up getting frustrated and trying to shove food in residence mouse when they refuse to eat which is not OK and that's not what we are top when we are trained, However many of the staff have worked in this facility for quite a long time and nothing is ever done about it. I recall a time that somebody accused me of asking a cafeteria worker to feed a resident which is not allowed, and after talking to the other person that they said was involved in proving that it was not true and that was it was a false accusation after getting yelled at by a nurse, not talk to you but yelled at, they immediately just wanted to stop talking about it and drop it without doing anything to confront the situation towards the person who made the false accusation and told me to leave it alone. And they also didn't do anything to the nurse that was very disrespectful to me when confronting me about the false accusation. It's pretty sad how a lot of them are treated, don't get me wrong there are some good staff, but there are still a lot of bad stuff and no precautions are being taken towards this neglectful behavior that's going on in the facility. I would never recommend this facility for anybody's loved ones. A lot of the hygiene expectations aren't upheld, And I have heard a lot of people say that as long as they aren't car it's OK. Or as long as the state inspector isn't there it's all right. So not only did they not treat their workers very well, but they treat their residence even worse. I really don't mean to just bash on this establishment but I think that everybody should know what's going on before they place their loved ones into a center that is supposed to care for them. I really hope they get it together soon.
