I was at Oak Park Place rehab after heart surgery. It is not even a place I would send an enemy, the food was lousy, when I put the light on some one MIGHT come eventually. I would get up and do my walking alone with no assist, yes, I KNEW THE RISKS. but I did it anyway, I knew I had to do it. I saw PT had unstable patients and they did noy even use gait belts. I am currently looking for assisted living, after my first experience, I certainly have my doubts about going to Oak Park.

I've been at 5+ rehab facilities following accidents or surgeries, and Oak Park Place is by far the best! Even on hectic days, at the busiest times, the staff bent over backwards to make me feel as if I were the only patient in their care. I would give it 5 stars (with glitter) in an instant, EXCEPT - 1 star would have a missing tip. This is because, as with any group of people - from a family of 2 to the largest organization - all of Oak Park Place facilities' communication methods are in need of evaluation, modifying and frequent fine-tuning.

I was there for a while. The facility was very nice the staff was great. PT and OT where exceptional. I chose to eat in my room. So here was the problem, My meals were sent after the dining room was served. Therefore I got cold not so good food. I sent my food back almost every meal!!! Not even an E for effort!!!

Preface: I have been employed at Oak Park Place (housekeeper/light maintenance) for almost two months now & was asked if I would write a review, to which I gladly agreed. Not because I'm a "brown noser" but because I was telling the Administrator how thankful I was for all staff being so warm & welcoming to me. In my opinion, they deserve an honest & positive review. As for any ratings commenting on lack of bathroom cleanliness, that is one of my duties now (they were very short staffed). I will do my utmost to keep Oak Park Place clean & welcoming for the people living here & all of their friends and family who visit! The Clientele: I am 45yrs old & have more in common with an 85yr old than a 35yr old. That being said, I have met so many nice people who call Oak Park Place home. It's nice to be around people that have time for a "warm hello" or a bit of a chat. The employees: I haven't formally met everyone, but those I have met are kind & have been eager to help with any questions I have (even if they don't have the answer, they will help find someone who does). In this day & age, being understaffed is just how it is at most places. A lot of younger adults take the opportunity to stay living with parents & don't understand the true necessity of keeping a job, which is why it is hard to keep good workers, hence being understaffed. This is something that is "out of the hands" of any business & needs to be taken into consideration. That being said, I watch everyone work there butts off to keep things running smooth & provide a wonderful, welcoming atmosphere!

My husband has health issues and our children wanted us to move here to improve the quality of our lives. It's a beautiful place to live and we are loving it. The rooms are set up to avoid Doug falling. They are so nice - lots of cupboards and storage space. So many amenities... We love the fitness center, underground heated garage, walk in showers, free breakfast every morning lunch or dinner for only $5.00. But the best part of our move is the great staff - warm, welcoming and so helpful. The activities with our neighbors have made our move so nice. We love it and so will you!!!

Staff was great! They were always attentive to my needs. CNAs were great, and very professional! Facility was was beautiful, very nice. Food was excellent, never had a bad meal the entire time, and I was there over 2 weeks. The therapy there is outstanding, very satisfied with my results. Even though it's not a situation anyone would like to be in, I tried to make the best of my situation. Other residents, however we're not as grateful as they should have been because the staff was very attentive. I would highly recommend.

My 94 year old mom broke her hip shortly after Christmas and then needed rehab. Having been a health care provider and having heard all the bad stories, I was scared to death of the about-to-be experience. I did not have to be. The staff at Oak Park Janesville rehab were extraordinary!! They were, to a person, kind, professional, experts in geriatric care, compassionate, upbeat, gentle. They recognized and listened to me, a distraught daughter, and helped my mom and I find solutions when she plateaued. They met and exceeded every single need. In addition I saw them build community among the residents. I am so glad they chose to accept my mom; I will forever be grateful for the wonderful care and help through this difficult time.

HIGH turnover rate of staff so risk of Covid exposure is very high. Employees steal from the residents money, stamps, Amazon firestick, clothes etc. Not enough CNA'S for residents. Called memory care, skilled nursing numerous times & phones just rings & rings. Impossible to get the simplest things done since family isn't allowed in facility. Reception is lacking because they can't leave desk & can only tranfer calls which no one answers anyway. No communication with staff or evening receptionist & doesn't seem to want to help with the simplest of questions during Covid lockdown. My sister drove 8 hours to see my dad. Set up 3 appts. 2 of the 3 weren't even scheduled In the book. FYI, Omnicare is the pharmacy Oak Park uses & they charged my dad 200.00 a month to blister his medication when Hometown pharmacy does it for free & deliver's for free . Beautiful facility, but housekeeping is practically non existent unless you complain. Activities in memory care doesn't exist, it's an outright fabrication. Some staff awesome, most lazy & have sticky fingers. What a waist of a Beautiful facility, if they got rid of the bad apples it would be a decent place.

The apartments are beautiful, and we liked the fitness center and Pub on site. We also liked that each apartment has its own washer and dryer, and the underground parking would be so convenient in the winter!

My mother is a resident in memory care at OAK PARK PLACE Janesville. The care she has received during the past eighteen months has been outstanding. The staff in memory care are friendly, caring, compassionate and kind. Throughout the long COVID 19 lockdown the staff did an amazing job of working with the residents cares and needs and keeping families informed. Special thanks to nurses Sara and Ally for carefully coordinating my mom's care with Heartland Hospice and nurse Amy. While Memory Care residents present some of the most difficult medical challenges, the Oak Park Place staff and administration help bring a increase in quality of life to each resident. I would highly recommend Oak Park Place Janesville.

Betty helped us get the paperwork and admittance process going quickly and efficiently with compassion. A nurse came to us to evaluate the needs of our Dad. Once Dad got moved in his fears of assisted living we're eased quickly. He likes the food and even smiled when he found the Grit channel was available on tv. Our extended family share three meals in the Parker Hall this week. It was extremely convenient to both visit Mom upstairs in her apartment for quiet conversations but also bring her down to join the large, boisterous and happy group to celebrate time together once again! The large room was perfect for meals and gathering. We had a few piano offerings and sang a little together. Such a wonderful facility to allow us to spread out and easily access grandma/great-grandma. Oak Park Place was very open and welcoming for our reunion and we were so thankful they didn't have any other reservations for those days

Never, never again. Most of the staff is kind, friendly, energetic, and willing to help. It's the other five or ten people who are incompetent, unwilling, or worse. Medicines were ordered late, rooms were searched for no reason, staff (the bad ones) wouldn't listen to anything patients had to say, and when I left, I was in worse shape than when I came in. The list goes on and on, but I'm still waiting for the peanut butter sandwich they promised me five days ago, and I need to be done with this review in case they show up with it. Next time, I will just go home instead of coming here.

I was a patient here for about 3 months. The service was very good. Yes, there were times when the service was a little slow. However, I realize that there are people there with more severe needs then mine. The rooms were large, the only thing I missed was a reclining chair. I had a back brace to wear whenever I was out of bed. If I would have had a reclining chair I could have reclined and spent more time sitting up. I was impressed with the way the entire staff worked together. From the Director of Nursing to the C.N.A. they filled in whenever and where ever they were needed. The Registered Nurses were very prompt with administering the prescriptions as I had some that needed to be taken 12 hours apart. Scott did an excellent job in the kitchen. Sometimes they were late getting the food out, but again that was due to the workload and the amount of available staff. The Therapists did a suburb job, they work very close with each individual patient to determine their needs. Lastly but not to be slighted the CNA's were fantastic. They attended to my needs no matter how minute. They are especially to be commended. If I have to return for more treatment I will gladly return to Oak Park Place Janesville.

The rooms my parents were in for rehabilitation was shockingly bare and dreary. Some nurses they liked and some they said were mean. My biggest issue is the social worker said she would setup therapy and nurse assistance at my house when it was time for my parents to leave but didn't lift a finger. She pushed my parents 24 hour care they need off on me without aid. I was beyond disappointed with the social worker and her lack of actually wanting to do her job during their stay and failure to follow through with their care upon release.

Upon being admitted to the facility my first impression was how friendly the ENTIRE staff was. Once I was able to be removed from the mechanical soft diet I found the food very good. The room was surprisingly spacious and felt brand new. I did feel that at times they might be a bit short staffed but unfortunately such is the nature of the beast. I might not have been the most easy patient due to my penchant for wandering around but I was tolerated by all the staff nonetheless. "Sorry Katy (sp?)" Should I unfortunately ever need rehab again this would be the first place I would request.

Oak Park is a beautiful facility. Rooms are spacious and there are many gathering places for seniors to visit and see outside. At this time however, they are greatly under staffed. The staff barely has time to do the minimum of care for the residents - bathing, cleaning, laundry sometimes are skipped due to lack of help. The activities seem to be minimal as well and few residents are involved in them. Exercise is a quick 20 min. With a light massage at the end and really fails to get the resident any stronger or help with balance. Brochure promises entertainment but most of which I've seen I'm sure was volunteer. This may offer good entertainment in Madison but in Janesville this may be quite limited. They have a van to transport residents to and from appts. but not a bus to take anyone on an outing. My family member stayed in her room all winter as she doesn't play cards or do puzzles. Residents need interaction but workers again are too busy to have a conversation - even weekly would help to find out how to get them moving more and what their likes are. Staff also do not seem to be organized to pass on information from the day staff to the evening staff in case they should be checking on a resident. We are currently awaiting the training of more staff to see if the level of care moves up a notch.

My parents were one of the first people to move into Oak Park Place when it first opened last July and they haven't regretted making the move for even a day! Nursing staff is fantastic. The other staff from the receptionist to the sales director are so unbelievably friendly and knowledgeable. The wing in which my parents live is right across from a woods and they've seen turkeys (50+!!), deer, foxes and more. Another thing that impresses me is how clean OPP is! No dist or cobwebs that my sister and I saw in other assisted living facilities we toured. There two-bedroom unit is cleaned well each week and their laundry is done when requested. Food is also fantastic. They are very happy living here!
