This was our families third time dealing with Edenbrook. The facility itself needs the work that is being done, but the compassion and care given by staff outshines the building. I personally have worked at a number of assisted living buildings. They were beautiful; but I would leave work many times feeling disgusted with how some workers treated residents. My mom liked the food she was served but she absolutely loved the staff at Edenbrook. She was always treated with respect and kindness; from housekeeping, to dietary, cnas, therapists, nurses and administrators, they were all excellent. Thank you all for seeing the person in front of you!

Even though my Mom was at Edenbrook for a short time, her and our experience was wonderful. The staff were all very accommodating and caring. If we had questions or concerns they were addressed. The day my mother was able to go home, the staff set us up with additional resources to make the transition home smoother. Thank you again For the amazing care!!

My Aunt was a long term resident of this facility. I can't say enough for the hard working staff . They did everything in their power to make her feel loved and comfortable. She had many medical issues and they always did their best to accommodate her and her special needs . I cannot imagine the stress , hours and manpower required to facilitate care for the masses when none is available . For them I am thankful as it's not a job that many could or would do , they step in to take care of so many people and they did it wonderfully. She called it home , they called her family . The activities, laughs and sense of family she had while with them was fantastic. When she passed I didn't see a dry eye among them . The Aids and Nursing staff truly do care about the residents and I appreciated every one of them for providing the care that our family was unable to provide at home for her .

We are team players, we all work hard to care for your loved ones, including dietary, PT,OT, housekeeping, Nurses, CNAs, Maintence, Activities etc. Yes we run into staffing issues at times, but we all try to make it work by coming in early, staying over, come in on our days off. Your loved ones are cared for the best possible way, we're not perfect but we are close to it. Residents laugh with us, together we cry, we feel their pain and make them as comfort as possible. Your family becomes are family. We do the best we can. We have more than 1 resident to care for and we are there for all of them. It takes a special person to do this line of work. I have been a CNA for 25 year and 4 years have been with Edenbrook. This is my second home, staff and residents are like family and I enjoy coming to work. Management also plays a big part, and I'm proud to say we have one of the best. Patience is a virtue. If are residents are not happy ain't nobody gonna be happy. We can't make everyone happy but we sure try. I recommend Edenbrook anyone, staff is great, caring and enjoy doing are job. I'm proud to be a part of this journey.

My Dad was at Edenbrook 2018-2019 when he passed away. He had transfered here from another nursing home that had almost killed him. My Dad had alzheimer's and would often forget he couldn't walk any more but would try and get up to go to the bathroom. This did cause him to fall severl times. But the staff did everything they could to keep him safe, even kept his bed close to the head nurses office so they might hear him if he called out for help because he didn't always recall how to push the button. The mucicians who came to visit for activities were a favorite for him. My Mom recently was at Edenbrook June/July 2023 for rehab and she also has dementia. The staff has been great and many of them are people that were there back when my Dad was living there. My Mom went in with a broken pelvis and they handled pain management well and therapy did a great job of getting her back up and walking again. The reason for the 4 stars is that there really was no effort by activities to contact us about what things would interest our Mom. She is an outdoor person and never got outside unless we took her and Edenbrook has an amazing outdoor setting! While attending activities should be optional, I do think they may need to do more to convince some introverted people to attend activities if they know this is an area of interest. People with dementia tend to isolate themselves and this is just bad for them in so many ways. I tried to find some simple games in the game room that were simple like Connect 4 or Uno, nope, none. Dietary did contact us about food preferences which was good because she refused to eat when she first arrived. Also, the inside is being brigthened up with fresh paint and the entry has changed since my Dad was there but the rooms and common areas really could use some freshening. And utilize the beautiful outdoors! When my Mom was in her wheelchair yet, I took her on the wheelchair swing outside. It was so fun but it needs a good cleaning. I would definately recommend Edenbrook because it has many great staff that are so caring and provided a safe place for them to live.

A loved one stayed there, for over a year, and died recently ” . They were always kind and compassionate to both of us. He was well cared for. Yesterday, I had to go and pack up his things, etc. The staff had this mostly done for me! I was pleasantly surprised at the level of understanding and compassion staff showed towards me, kind words mentioned about my loved one, etc. Ariel, Tiffany, Carol, Jessica, Jake, Housekeeping, and Nursing staff are exceptional and compassionate! I would highly recommend this facility to anyone who wants their loved ones to be well cared for, and treated with dignity and respect ! Tiffany, Jessica, and other staff even helped me to put things into my car, and helped to bring things up to load! These folks aren't afraid to go the "extra mile!"

Edenbrook by far is the most caring staff you will meet to take care of your loved ones. Don't believe one sided opinions, make your own and come see what Edenbrook is all about!

Upper management was beyond supportive and cheered me on when I was furthering my education and expanding my family, which I am very grateful for. My Mom was at Edenbrook in November and December 2019. She came for rehab after a bout with pneumonia from the hospital. I cannot Thank the staff enough for the professionalism and the kindness they showed my Mother as well as me and my dog Teddy. Lacey and Amy. Beth from Rehabilitation. Betty, her CNA. Bob from Housekeeping. Patty from the kitchen. As you can see...everyone we appreciated. My Mom passed away at home in January 2020. Her last moments in life were being in the hospital. Being at Edenbrook. And being home with the care of Heartland. Thank you all for the care and respect you showed my Mom!

I was a former employee at Edenbrook of Wisconsin Rapids. I would consider the staff as my family. They are hard working, diligent, well rounded experts in their field. More importantly, they are all full of compassion, kindness, and are attuned to the resident's needs. The Activities staff provides a plethora of meaningful activities that encompass a wide variety of the residential population on a daily basis. The Nursing and Caregiver staff are patient, flexible and sensitive to all aspects of residential/skilled care. Edenbrook also has an in house therapy team that does an outstanding job rehabbing patients as well as setting them up for success. The Administrator is a wonderful advocate for the residents and their loved ones. All in all, the accommodations, care, staff, AND the residents are what make Edenbrook feel like "home."
