I have been living in Emerson South Collins, for about one month now. It's a very nice place. The administration was very helpful. In getting me in to the complex. I was very impressed with the Director, Chris Johnson. He was very friendly, helpful and cooperative, in getting me in to the apartment. He treats you like a person, not just a number. I am extremely impressed with Director of Sales, Charmaine Sherriffee She needs a raise— She is very friendly and helpful. She was instrumental I'm getting me to move in here. To this day she's very friendly and also greets me when I see her— My first meal was a breakfast. The kitchen Director, Greg Perkins, came to where I was sitting, almost as soon as I set down. He introduced himself and greeted me and welcomed me to the complex. He is alway friendly and greats me everytime we meet. I must say most all the employees, I have met so far are, are very friendly and helpful. The complex is very clean and well maintained. They decorated for this Memorial Day. They observe and celebrate residents birthdays. Except for Mondays and Wednesdays so far there are only 2 meals a day. I'm told that's changing and going to be 3 meals a day the end of May. Only real complaints I have are as follows: it seams like maybe the kitchen is short on help and don't get all the supplies they need. Sometimes we can't always get what we want for breakfast. Even though it's on the menu choices we pick from. I'm not a big white bread fan, I haven't been able to get wheat toast since my first week here. Some mornings all I can get is scrambled eggs and not over easy fried eggs. They do provide alternative meals. If you don't want or like the menu items. I'll have to admit they do make an outstanding chef salad as an alternative option— So far I would definatly recomend this place to others. If I learn more i will definatly share that information.

My wife and I have lived here and this place is unfit for anyone with health issues. people that have a family member living here as told me thant they are going to move there love ones out,and I see that happing everyday. This place has so many issues here,if you move a love one in here with health issues after one month living here they will have more. I have lived at 3 independent living centers in Arlington and this is the worst of any. Most of the time food is unfit to eat. They have bed bugs . This review asked to give rating,because I gave it one star,becaus I could not give it a -10.Do not take my word for this place once you move yourself or love one in it will not take long for you to get them out.

Absolutely wonderful meets all of your needs. Gives you something to do all the time. The dining is absolutely wonderful the piano bar, the staff, the housekeeping, the other residence. Make you feel welcome. I guarantee you you go there. You will love it. It will be your home for lifetime. My stay was short my health wouldn't allow me to stay, unfortunately.

My mom and mother in law both live here. I am very disappointed that they no longer serve breakfast. For elderly people that is the most important meal of the day. Overall the staff is awesome but apparently cutting meals is more important than their health. Let me be clear the cut a meal but didn't lower rent.

The best place for your loved one. They offer 2 meals 7 days a week all holidays in a dinning room setting served by servers who show their love and concerns. ALL the employees show love and concern as well as treat them as family. Charmaine is an angel and you can see the love she has for each and everyone. She was so helpful to our family and such a source of information. The tenants look happy act happy and are very friendly. They are very welcoming and most have been long term tenants if Emerson. Even family members of tenants are friendly and offer help. They have security cords in bedroom and bathroom as well as a pendant for them to wear, housekeeping, trash service, utilities are included. They offer rides to shopping centers, banks, and doctor appointments, movie nights in a in house movie theater, plenty of community activities and events to do. This is 5 star place for your parents and or yourself!

My mom has been here 6 years. The staff has turned over several times, the ownership twice. The new owners put in new windows and painted, but don't want to buy decent food. The entire living experience has gone from 5 star to barely 3. Elderly people need fruit and vegetables not potatoes and rice or noodles. The staff that are there are wonderful I must say we couldn't ask for better, they earned the stars. Movie nights, sing alongs and parties are really fun and inclusive.

Charmaine has been wonderful!! Beyond words!! She went above and beyond with accommodating us when the recent ice storm caused delay in our apartment being ready. Guest room was offered and another room for daughter staying to help with move in! Front desk staff is wonderful!! Janet, Esta, Cathy!! Always helpful and friendly!! Very happy with this community!!

Am looking for an affordable & safe place to live and that's gotten quite tricky these days on disability and especially being in a wheelchair. They had a place for me that I should have been able to afford but a few other costs turned up while I was on tour. Ended up it was just slightly too expensive for me otherwise I believe I would have enjoyed living there. Almost everything was included in the price I was quoted, it was just the few more things, I was told about while I was on tour. The lady that showed me around was very helpful. They're are in the middle of renovations. The updates that were being done are very nice. One day I hope that I'll be able to move in. I highly recommend Emerson. If I'm able to find a roommate (hint, hint), I'll take another look.With that, I definitely recommend your taking a look. Thank you for allowing me to tell you a bit about my experience.

My grandmother recently became a resident and seems happy enough with the decision. Didnt give more than 3 stars because of the issues with their meals. Servers arent very friendly and seem inexperienced in the food industry. Kind of sad since it is mostly just food delivery. Also, there almost never is enough food for both meal times, under/over cooked food, servers rush residents to eat, dessert only half even get or are even offered and there just any care or love put into their meals. Thus is a huge problem for me since money for meals is included in rent and it doesnt seem to be a priority or value to those who work there since things don't seem to be changing or addressed even after multiple complaints from those who spend their hard earned money are telling them they are not happy. 200% effort should go into every detail, every activity, every meal, and anything else offered and "promised" by the facility and I feel they are disrespecting our elderly by brushing their wants and dislikes to the side as if they won't remember tomorrow what upset them today.

Food is good and plentiful. Staff is friendly and helpful. Residents are also friendly and helpful. Plenty of activities arranged by program coordinator/activity director Morgan. She is young and energized and keeps us busy. The thing I enjoy the most is the cardio emphasis she has added to our six days/week exercise or strength training classes. She is caring and spends hours talking to all the residents. She is amazing and I hope we amaze her also.

Unfortunately this facility only caters to a few. If a a resident has dementia they are ignored as my mother was today by the volunteer at the mothers day tea. A young lady Morgan was totally rude and ignored us and when the tea was over only the chosen ladies got roses from the tables. The black helper rushed past us to distribute roses to other residents. Even though my mother has dementia this was not not lost on her. I do appreciate Rick Lee taking the the time and effort to be concerned about this. He truly seems to understand the aging process and issues that can occur. I am also eternally grateful to Charmaine at the front desk. She always puts a smile on my face and watches after my mother.
