Cumberland Village is such a lovely place - beautiful grounds, beautiful main building, spacious apartments and patio homes. But what makes it special are the people - wonderful staff and friendly residents. My mom lived here for 3 years before she passed away and my father-in-law lives here now. Both love it very much. I highly recommend Cumberland Village.

The best decision we could have made for Mom after our Father passed away was to move her to Cumberland Village! It was a very big move for her at a very sad time, but the Cumberland Team were so wonderful and made the transition very easy. Mom will always be lonely for Dad, but she is not socially lonely at Cumberland. She made many friends right away and I think she knows everyone there now. The Residents enjoy so many activities including puzzles, bingo, plays, concerts, sing-a-longs, Bible Studies, events for the whole family to attend and the list goes on. Oh, did I forget to mention the POOL!?! The property is beautiful and she can walk around the grounds which is good for her in so many ways. The Cumberland Team is there to handle the many needs and requests of the Residents and they do it with a smile. If you are considering a move for your parents or yourself, you must visit Cumberland Village first! That way you are starting with the BEST!

Beautiful facility in a forested picturesque setting. The campus is very large and wooded with walking trails, a pond, benches for momentary respite. Inside the large recently renovated lobby are comfortable seating areas for family and friends to gather. There are multiple activity rooms and ample space for card games, TV viewing, zigsaw puzzles, sewing and crafts. A social director ensures that special social events are provided regularly for the resident population and their guests. The library boasts many volumes catering to a wide variety of literary tastes. The large dining area is comfortable and residents are encouraged to mix their dining partners to ensure no one feels left out. There are a variety of apartments (some studio, 1 bedroom, 2 bedrooms). All are equipped with a small kitchen, senior friendly services. Cable vision, telephone, power, water, and meals are all included in the monthly rent. Most Wednesdays the community gathers in the early evening for a complementary Happy Hour gathering. Unlike a nursing home or assisted living, the atmosphere is one of capable seniors living in a setting that provides just enough structure to enable the residents to enjoy themselves in an independent living environment.

She has become active in several of Cumberland Village's many activities, so much so that I have to check with her busy schedule before making doctor appointments! She doesn't want to miss out on her favorites! She was just existing after my dad passed away. Now she is living a full and wonderful life with many good people to share life with!

I was one of the first certified gerontologists in the country. For a few years I was invited to share thoughts with Cumberland Village residents. Then, when it felt like it was really time for me to relocate, the obvious place for me to strongly consider was Cumberland Village. My decision to do so was met by every positive moment I could ask for. From MahJongg to Aqua Volleyball to delicious dining in between , I continue to enjoy my involvement with Cumberland Village.

My mother just left Cumberland Village after approximately 5 years. Her age (102) prompted the change as she needed daily assistance that is not provided in an Independent Living facility. That said, she truly enjoyed her time spend here. The apartment was large and well maintained and a great view. She was always safe, well fed, and when she felt like it (which unfortunately was decreasing) had activities to keep her engaged. The provided taxi service got to her various doctor/dental appointments on time and back home safely. And the beauty shop kept her styled!. She misses Cumberland, but sadly it was time for 24 hour assistance and so a move was made.

My mother moved to Cumberland in December 2021. It has been such a smooth transition and she loves living here and wishes she had moved sooner. After extensive research we determined that Cumberland Village ("CV") is ideal for our loved one moving from their own private home to an adult community. It is a big leap in lifestyle for many and Samantha Peel Head of Sales could not be more patient and welcoming. Not only did she help find the ideal apartment but I know she continues to watch for the happiness of our family as well as all the residents long after "move in" day. CV is conducive to social interaction and supports its residents in a personalized, caring manner. The restaurant choices are extensive and tasty, amazingly so - the hallways and common rooms are always perfectly clean and fresh. We interact with several employees weekly (Holly, Gary at the Front Desk and Laura in Housekeeping) and appreciate their warmth and support. After only a few months, CV is beginning to feel like home. CV's residents are safe and happy and that is all we could ask for in an independent living establishment. Karin

They truly are compassionate and they care. I know she is always taken care of and looked after. The food is good and the building and grounds are always well kept. They do a great job. My husband and I downsized and moved here into a patio home 4 years ago. Sadly, 2 years ago he passed away. I have been so thankful that we were here and well settled before he was gone. I have such good neighbors and so many friends. The staff is great especially my housekeeper. She does a wonderful job with a lovely attitude. The activity director and her assistant offer so many fun activities, especially the weekly mingle when we can get together with so many other residents and meet new ones. I hope to live here for as long as I live.

I have lived at Cumberland Village in Aiken for 9 months now. I am so very pleased with the experience I have enjoyed here. The staff! Oh, the staff! They are wonderful. So friendly and helpful. They take care of everything from getting maintenance repairs done to taking your food orders and delivering them to your room if you can't get to the dining room. Weekly housekeeping. Laundry service. The landscape is well maintained. Ducks and fish in the pond. And the building I live in is lavish and expertly decorated. My grandchildren say that I live in a mansion. The activities are so great. There is always something going on. We took a day trip to Salley, SC to the Safari drive through tour. Fed the camels, antelope, and giraffes. Cumberland provided the picnic lunches and drove us there in the van. Weekly trips are available to go shopping in Aiken. Wednesdays are the Mix n Mingle night. There will be live music entertainment, wonderful finger foods from the chefs in the kitchen. And there is usually a featured mixed drink for the night. Wine, beer or just a soft drink if you do not drink alcohol. Staff members will drive you to your Aiken area doctor's appointments and pick you up to bring you back home. And when I said home, I mean "My Home" here at Cumberland. If you or a loved is looking for a retirement community, This Is It. I have no worries. Basically all I am required to do is shower, dress and sleep.

My parents love Cumberland Village. They rave about the food [I have had dinner and lunches there, and I AGREE]. The staff is very nice, considerate and friendly. Plenty of activities, and most importantly very good communication with Cumberland through personal encounters, emails, social media. Really helps keep up with all that is going on, and helps me 'remind' my parents of events they may enjoy. After 50 years in their home, the move to Cumberland was a good choice. Besides being situated in an idyllic, beautifully landscaped & quiet setting, complete with southern pines, walking paths and a peaceful pond, Cumberland Village is an alive, vibrant, loving, and caring place! Listen, we all want our aging parents to feel as if they are "home" wherever they are. And from 150 miles away, I confidently feel that my mother is in the hands of a good family of folks who actually care for her (and our) entire life experience. The staff made us realize that this was the beginning of something fantastic. From the informed, honest, and non-sales-like experience we had when making the move-in decision (who wants to be sold, right?), to the entire settling-in experience, the Cumberland staff laid out the welcoming, red carpet for us. And even in the hustle, they assured us not just through words, but ACTIONs that proved we made the right choice. The small moves they took after we chose them, backed up their original promises of seeking the best for my mom and us. As they said, they know we have a choice, and they want it to be the right one for us. The beautiful facility, resort-like delicious food, and great apartment exceed our expectations on all levels; however, it's the staff who continually go beyond. And that, my friend, cannot be bought anywhere--it comes from good management and a team who wants to do well. Choose Cumberland, and you'll know you made the right decision. We certainly are glad we did.

Being new to the "Senior Care" scenario, my family feels blessed that we were able to get my parents into Cumberland Village. The Cumberland Village management and staff have gone beyond our expectations in making this a wonderful transition for our parents. Delicious meals, a range of activities including exercise classes, a well stocked library, cleaning and laundry services add to the beautiful facility and grounds. Very nice environment and wonderful staff. They strive to keep the residents entertained while maintaining a safe and healthy environment. Cumberland Village is aesthetically very beautiful, the living quarters are nice and most have outside patios or porches. The dining facility offers a menu with lots of food options and combinations as opposed to a choice between two specials only. They really try to address the needs of their residents.

My mom lived at Cumberland Village for the last 7 years of her life. You know how it is, your parent gets older, you work full-time, and you wonder where and who you can trust to help. I was lucky enough to find Cumberland Village and I thank God each day that I did. The staff (from top to bottom) looked out for my mom, helped her socialize, brought out her personality, and made her feel at home. My mom moved from New York after 85 years and she was so concerned about meeting people and seeing if there would be anything for her to do. Cumberland, again, came through with flying colors. They have an extensive list of activities and trips so that my mom did not have time to be bored! Another outstanding quality is the food. Restaurant quality, order off a menu meals are very good. Even though my mom passed away recently, I still enjoy an occasional meal at Cumberland and the staff still welcomes me with open arms and tells me I will always be part of the Cumberland family. In addition, holiday meals are absolutely outstanding. In the end, the people make the place. From the management, to the front desk, to the kitchen, to the activities staff, each one made my mom (and me) feel cared for and even loved. I struggled (like many of us do) about having my mom move out of her house and into a new living environment. By far, the best decision I ever made for my mom was finding her a place at Cumberland Village. My heart and mind was able to rest easy (even when her health started to fail) knowing that the staff at Cumberland cared so much for her. The piece of mind that gave me was priceless and I can truly recommend Cumberland Village in the most sincere and enthusiastic way possible.

My mom has lived there for over a year and loves it. She likes socializing with other residents, loves the food, enjoys the special activities that are offered. Her apartment is spacious and beautiful. She has her car but is able to get rides to doctor visits if she doesn't feel like driving. There is a real sense of community among the residents; they are very caring toward one another. I would recommend Cumberland Village to anyone considering a move like this; independence is encouraged but there is also assistance if you need it.
