From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by how welcoming everyone has been”both the staff and the other residents made me feel right at home by inviting me to join in on events and daily activities. What really sets The Steger apart is how genuinely the staff care about us. They know everyone by name and take the time to learn exactly what each resident needs. I'm especially impressed with Manny and the amazing activities he plans; there’s so much going on that you could easily stay busy from morning until night! From the first moment my father entered the Steger Residence, General Manager Jean-ric (see photo) and his entire staff were so welcoming! Shaina and Sharon are there to securely greet you with a warm smile and Mamadou is there to address every request. Jasmine and her Personal Touch nursing team ensure my father’s medical needs are all met. Manny organizes various activities to keep the residents active and engaged. Head chef Nadia keeps the menu diverse and healthy with the cooking and serving staff ensuring the meals are delivered on time. Best decision for my father to join the Steger Residence!

I looked for the Perfect residence for one year plus for my beautiful 88 year old Mom whom I love dearly! It was hard to find the perfect residence! After much research I found the Steger! I phoned and spoke with the Director Jean Eric and I must say he was incredibly patient and answered my many questions! He was indeed very helpful and so very kind! He understood it was an urgent situation as I and gave me an appointment the same day. I arrived at the StegerI was introduced to Jean Eric, Sharon and Mamadoo. They were incredibly welcoming, I felt immediately at home! I spent two hours with Jean Eric. He gave me a tour of the Steger. I saw a couple of apartments everything felt like a perfect fit for my Mom! I have met directors from many residences that I visited but no one can match the kindness, the efficiency, the patience, the availability to solve issues like what I witnessed and had experienced with Jean Eric! After my meeting with Jean Eric I decided to stay at the residence as I wanted to hear directly from the residents about their experience at the Steger and how they felt living at the Steger. I ended up staying for two hours. I met so many residents all comments were unanimousThey loved it, they would say the staff is great and attentive, they felt safe, that the Steger was like a big family! After all I saw and heard it was clear the Steger was the perfect home for my Mom. I signed that very same evening! My Mom has lived at the Steger since late October 2025. My Mom is happy and fleurishing! After a lengthy hospital stay and a decline in my mother’s health, we came to the difficult realization that she could no longer return home to live independently. I began researching and visiting different residences, and of the three I toured, I knew Steger was the right choice for her. From the very first phone call, Sharon stood out with her professionalism and warmth”you could truly hear the smile in her voice. When I arrived, I was immediately struck by how happy and friendly the residents seemed. Jean-Eric guided me through the tour, thoughtfully allowing me to take photos and videos to share with my mother. The apartments are beautiful, and given how quickly everything happened, the option of a furnished suite for the first month was incredibly helpful. The residence offers so much: three full meals plus snacks daily, activities and exercise classes, weekly housekeeping, cable TV, a lifeline system, and the option to add personalized care services. It truly feels like an all-inclusive community. Jean-Eric has been exceptional”his compassion, sense of humor, and dedication made a challenging transition so much easier. He went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly, even visiting my mother in the hospital with his colleague Mamadou to sign the lease and personally welcome her. Mamadou has also been wonderful”kind, patient, and full of positive energy. His welcoming nature has made a meaningful difference for my mother. Although it’s only been a month, my mother has adjusted well and is genuinely enjoying her new home at Steger. My mom was at Steger Residence for only a month and it was with regret that we had to leave due to her unexpected health decline. In her short time there she grew to love the staff and other residents. Jean-Eric (GM), Mamadou (kitchen / housekeeping services), Sharon and Shana (reception), Manny (activities), and the serving staff were incredibly kind, patient, and welcoming and did everything they could to ease her transition into the Steger community, as did the other residents. The food is very good and the activities are varied, balanced, and numerous. Jasmine (Personal Touch) is always available to respond to questions regarding the care her team can provide. Overall, I give Steger Residence a big thumbs up!

Steger R©sidence is and has been a wonderful home for my 93 year old mom for the past three years. My mom has a private, secure and comfortable apartment. Meals are provided three time a day, seven days a week. The apartments are cleaned once a week as part of the rent. Activities are offered on a daily basis including gentle chair yoga, morning stretch classes, bingo, art and musical entertainment, including singalongs, guitar players and Elvis impersonators. Personal Touch Care provides extra services for a fee for those who want it and/or require it, including medication dispensing. Both Steger staff and Personal Touch staff provide excellent quality care to the residents.The atmosphere at the Steger Residence is a happy one. The administration is wonderful. My mom is happy to be here.

From the moment we walked into La Residence Steger, it felt like visiting family rather than a residence. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, but April truly stood out. She went above and beyond ” showing us around, sitting to have lunch with us, and making my aunt feel completely cared for. My aunt had been struggling with the idea of moving into a residence, but It’s truly because of April that my aunt decided to sign the lease. Her warmth and compassion made all the difference. I also want to mention Jasmine from the Personal Touch team ” she’s so genuine and caring, and her kindness shines through in everything she does. I truly hope April and Jasmine will continue to be there for years to come ” not only for my aunt, but for all the residents who will be lucky enough to meet them and for me too, every time I visit. Hello, I recently placed my wife suffering from depression at the Steger after getting a recommendation from a trusted health professional. Jean Eric, Mamadou, Tim and Everyone ( Sadie, Rui,) and untold others were amazing warm and receptive. I carefully evaluated several locales, more and less expensive and found them sadly lacking in warmth and friendship. I was really impressed by the friendliness of ALL the staff at the Steger. It is the secret of their success.. You can feel the difference when you walk in the front door i attended a BBQ there yesterday and it was wonderful to see all the staff ( even the Mgr Jean Eric ) dancing and joking with the residents.. I recommend this residence highly and give it Six Stars !!! Richard B

Most people are hesitant to send a loved one to a residence and we were the same. But we were well pleased with the move. My mother-in-law became a well known and loved resident there. She felt safe and was content to enjoy being in the midst of the comings and goings of staff and other residents. We got to know and enjoy interacting with the staff. Shaina, Sharon, Wendy especially Thank you’’’. Bruce too! ’Thank you we had fun joking with you. The girls in the dinning room thank you for your hard work and care.’The housekeeping too.’. 3 and a half years ago, at the recommendation of our mother's doctor, our family was encouraged to seek more help in caring for our then 87 year old mother living with dementia. As much as she didn't want to move from her apartment of 30 years, we were so glad to have found the caring community at Steger. The activities, fellow residents, and their families provided the connection with people our mother needed. The staff got to know her well, as they do with all the residents and communicating with the staff for any need is easy; they would also let us know of any issues and problems we needed to know or take care of. Now that we had to move mom again, we hear many comments and expressions from residents who remember her. Everyone from the staff working at the reception to those who serve meals, ask how she is doing and miss her presence. Overall, our experience was a positive one, as we could see when visiting that mom was comfortable. We wish to express our gratitude to those we can name such as Wendy, Shana, Sharon, Brenda, Bruce, and many others who helped us care for our mother. Thank you for making our family feel at home!

Two friends and I recently visited the Steger residence. On arrival, we were welcomed by Wendy and Toni. I was impressed how accepting and warm the two were. Often, staff mirrors administration. At lunch, the employee was polite, pleasant and efficient (No institutionalization here!) We were given a tour, treated to a deliceous lunch,and invited to a Sunday afternoon entertainment which we enjoyed along with the residents! My 2 friends danced as did a few residents!
