I became familiar with Lorien in March after my Aunt fell and injured herself and was not discovered for 6 hours. The decision was then made to not let her live alone. Well let me say the Lorien has been a God send. ALL the staff I have encountered are professional, very nice and always there to help. It all started with Gemia and Melissa in Extended Living intake and has been amplified with the professionalism of Amiris who has moved on to the Activities Department and Shante who were the first to greet me upon my arrival. Jason in physical therapy is very dedicated and good at his job. He was able to inspire my Aunt to participate more in therapy and the results are paying off. The real heros are the nurses that monitor my aunt and others. They communicated with me in helping my aunt adapt to the new surroundings. So to conclude if you want great care for your loved ones Lorien in Elkridge is where they will benefit from marvelous care. Tell Kevin the Administrator hus namesake Kevin sent you.

Lorien Elkridge took wonderful care of my aunt. Each time I visited her I was greeted with a smile from the ladies at the front desk. Everyone in the office was helpful in getting paperwork completed and arranging follow-up care once she was released. I appreciated knowing that she was well taken care of. The facility is clean and well maintained.

We had an excellent experience at Lorien in Elkridge. From the front office staff to every tech and nurse who saw my grandmother, everyone treated her with kindness and respect. Tracy at the front desk was always warm and welcoming whenever we visited. Franklin was a wonderful tech who made my grandmother feel safe and well cared for, and Angie did a fantastic job bringing a smile to her face each morning. Sheila and Fran were also wonderful with her. The physical therapy team provided great support and made the transition from rehab to home as smooth as possible. We could not have asked for better care and highly recommend Lorien!

From the tour to my dad’s actual admit date, Admissions Kelli and Chante’ were super helpful. The ladies were very professional and knowledgeable. We really appreciate being heard. The receptionist, Amaris was the most helpful and bright person I’ve come across in a long time. Her ability to be bubbly while remaining professional was a God send! Also would like to express my gratitude to Zelda Shields-Scott it’s not often you come in contact with a business office manager that is pleasant, knowledgeable, patient and willing to assist with business and personal matters.

In the past two years my wife has needed to go into a Rehab enter. The first time was two years ago after she had back Surgery. They put her in a facility near where we lived. The facility was nice and seemed to be well equipped but seriously understaffed. It often took a half hour to an hour for an aid or nurse to respond to her call requests. Facility okay, staffing an issue. This time she after having fallen many times in our unit she was hospitalized, They decided to send her to a Rehab Center in Anne Arundel County. This place, though highly rated by Medicare was awful. It was a rather dingy facility in which you were immediately overwhelmed by the smell of urine and feces! It also took an hour or longer for anyone to respond to her calls, often she was told just to “go in your diaper” until we have time for you! The PT/OT facilities were bare-boned and she received barely more than 20 minutes of one or the other during weekdays. And on one of those days they had a group session instead of individual treatment where none of her Rehab needs were addressed! This place was so awful I found myself crying to myself, feeling guilty that she had to stay in this disgusting facility! I fought for and finally received the OK to transfer her to Lorien, Elkridge! I can only describe it as like going from the worst Motel 6 in the world to the Carlton-Ritz! Lorien Elkridge in a very welcoming, clean, well-equipped facility. And the staff, including the those working the front desk, are very welcoming, responsive, kind and caring!! She rarely waits more than 5 to10 minutes when she request assistance. They seem to be eager to get whatever she needs and often do the same for me. The nurse in charge, is on the ball and is willing to put up with my inquires of her medical treatment and requests from me to obtain specific treatments and/or mess (I will admit that my career with the FDA as an expert in both Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals does give me an unique knowledge base.) She gets OT and PT every weekday, often for as long as an hour each! I can't rave enough about this facility and its staff. If you live near Elkridge you definitely would want to send your loved one her if they need rehab. Heck, even if you don't live near here, I would still recommend you check this facility out.

A family member was here recently for recovery after a hip fracture. We can't say enough about the therapists. They were all great and certainly worked to get the patient back on their feet. As far as the rooms go, they are getting to look a little shabby. They certainly don't look like the lobby which is beautifully decorated including a tropical fish tank. The nursing staff were okay. The nurses and aids seemed to always be busy when the patient needed assistance. It frequently took more than 2 hours for them to help the patient to the toilet. Unfortunately, the delay usually led to a diaper change being needed where if they had just helped the patient to the toilet that wouldn't have been the case. I also feel that more training is needed to ensure proper safe handling of the patients. It was apparent that the staff are not always familiar with what the patient is being treated for and they can sometimes seem to be handling the patients in a manner that seems rough and not the way the person should be treated based on what part of their body the injury/surgery was done on. The food service is also a negative. They do a survey with the patient at admission but seem to ignore what they are told. There were multiple occasions where food that is clearly marked as not being wanted were served to the patient. They also never brought butter or margarine with rolls/biscuits even when it was asked for. The food waste must be ridiculous. They should do an order system to let the patients pick from 2 or 3 options. This would certainly cut down on food being thrown away. Overall, we give them 3 stars. There are certainly worse places out there, but some improvement would go a long way at this facility.

Initially, this journey began with hurdles. However, the staff made immediate improvements, which made our family feel heard during such a difficult time. Chante Williams started the ball rolling for me!!! I was so distraught when I walked in the facility. She reassured me my concerns would be addressed and they were the same day!!!! My mother was here for 20 days in August 2025. The care she received was amazing. The nursing staff and aides were very caring and responsive. The physical and occupational therapists were awesome, working on the things she needed to accomplish in order to come home safely, and giving her a gentle nudge on the few occasions she wasn't too keen to participate. Her room was cleaned everyday. Everyone; the front desk staff, the social workers, the medical staff, the therapy staff, and the custodial staff were always friendly and helpful.

Lorien Elkridge was the best of the three rehab facilities my mom has been to. Of note, the PT and OT staff and the administrative staff are excellent. I especially appreciate Samantha and Gina reaching out to me about a hospice issue that would have been very costly for us. The facility is very nice and the care my mom received from Franklin was excellent. Hope not to be back, but if we need to, this is where we would go. Chuck H

My mother was transferred to this facility from another facility, and it was the absolute best decision ever! From the staff to the amenities and everything in between this place is absolutely wonderful. The nursing staff is so attentive and careful with my mom. They always take time to explain what they are doing and what their plan is in a manner that is easy to understand. When my mother first arrived, we were greeted by staff who introduced themselves with such compassion. Even the cafeteria workers were very sweet and welcoming with huge smiles as they delivered her meals. The Staffing Coordinator, Tymeka Brown is absolutely God-sent. She continually goes above and beyond to make my mother, and our family feel extremely valuable. Mrs. Brown is always smiling and interacting with residents meandering the halls and greeting friends and strangers alike. Additionally, Darolyn Slater, the Unit Secretary is also truly an exceptional and caring professional. When we first arrived she took the liberty of helping both myself and my family members feel welcomed and comfortable while taking us through the difficult decisions of finding the most appropriate specialist for her follow-up appointments. I just cannot rave enough about this place and its exceptional staff. I'm telling you, if you or your loved one is in search of a care facility, Lorien Elkridge is hands-down the best around. My entire family cannot be happier with our choice. My mom will no doubt thrive here in this community because that's exactly what this place is, a neighborhood where everyone is unashamedly expressive with their care and love for their neighbors. I had a tour approximately a couple months ago. The building was very clean and pleasant. I loved the fact that they have a regular nursing side and an apartment side for the more independent residents. My grandmother was looking into moving from Middle River senior apartments. Lorien is close to where I work but my grandmother decided to go with a senior apartment near where I live. The staff at Lorien made me feel like it was their pleasure to care for my grandmother. I didn't feel like just a number. I was able to meet their new administrator and every question was answered politely and thoroughly. One of my bosses stayed there a few years back and she was able to use her walkie talkie and laptop while at Lorien to continue working. She retired last December but I am pleased that Lorien took good care of her.

Dad admitted to the assisted living apartments there. Previously we had a really challenging time with finding placement. They are really nice. I had no idea they even had assisted living apartments. The staff helped him get settled in and he’s really excited.

Yes, this facility was referred to us and we traveled from Annapolis every day.The funniest thing is yes we really was anticipating the worst. The staff really helped us remove the fear of rehab centers. I cannot speak for them all but this place was a very nice clean facility and it didn’t stink like other nursing homes that were referred to us. My mom expected us to visit daily irregardless.

My Nana stayed there for therapy. We really didn’t want to because of all the horror stories you hear about in nursing homes. We came in every day from sun up to sun down just to make sure she had everything she needed. My aunts were ready and prepared to address any issues. Like we were anticipating the worst. But unbeknownst to us they were extremely responsive. Yup they may have been an issue here and there but nothing major and my Nana was happy and that’s all that mattered. My colleague mom needed therapy about a month ago and they’re from Annapolis and I told them about this place and sure enough she went there. Her family too traveled every day to see her with the same anxiety but said they were very satisfied.

This is one of the cleanest facilities that I have ever entered. I had no idea they had apartments as well as the nursing side. I sat in a care planning meeting with my aunt and the Social Worker Gina was very helpful, professional and informative.

Noticeable Improvement. The new head nurse in the assisted living side is very attentive and personal. Let’s just say my love one isn’t the most cooperative. Her and Ms Brown both have personally been involved with bringing stability to the assisted living. We like Demon too. He’s very patient with my family. The business office lady is very nice too.

Over the years my husband has had multiple medical situations that required rehabilitation. We have been blessed by being cared for many times at this facility. Not only do the staff keep track of his needs, they care for him in a kind, compassionate way. Any concerns we share have been promptly addressed. Lorien in Elkridge has always been our first choice whenever he has needed a rehabilitation facility.

I’m Gwen Cooper I’ve been in Lorien Elkridge, for several days and I would like to say that I have not met a nurse that I have not fell in love with. The workers here are so generous with their time they’re so kind. I’ve never heard a unkind word from anyone. They are always there and always pleasant. They always show up on time. I want to say thank you thank you very much to the staff and all of the wonderful nurses and people that I’ve met during my stay here. This facility is absolutely the best. I had my Aunt transferred here to Lorian for better care. My first experience was talking to Nick without him I don’t know what I would had done. When my Aunt arrived at Lorien she was all SMILES. Seeing my 89 year old Aunt this happy brings me joy. The facility is very neat and clean, the staff is phenomenal, and they are giving her a good workout in physical therapy. I’m not sure what Nick’s position is but he has been great he literally is hands on with EVERY Patient. I’m very blessed and thankful to have my Aunt here. LORIEN ELKRIDGE THE BEST.

I would recommend this place . The,staff was great. I would not say the food was poor. The waffles were sent down twice raw. However everybody was professional. Vera, the head nurse was swell. If i had to go again to rehab,i certainly would go there.

I just want to share that my family had an amazing experience here from the moment we walked into the facility. My father had first class care everyday he was there for his short-term rehabilitation. John and his team provided us with great updates and best of all, wonderful care for my father. The entire team from Kelly at the front desk to the nursing team, to Shaun the PT, they were simply terrific.

Lorien Elkridge is a wonderful nursing and rehab facility with awesome employees who genuinely care about the residents. They truly are the best in what they do.

My husband is a patient, I have been very impressed with everything from the minute I walked in the door. Staff is helpful and caring. Rooms are clean, food is appetizing, and other patients are out of room socializing and friendly. My husband was seen by the Physician's Assistant on admission, and Physical Therapist the next morning. I know he is in good hands and I have been able to sleep soundly for the first time in weeks.

This place is HORRIBLE!!!! DON'T SEND YOUR LOVED ONES THERE!! The staff are inexperienced, they have poor bed side manners, the rooms are not suitable for elderly people, the wheel chairs don't even have foot rests, and the food is disgusting!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON 'T SEND YOUR FAMILY TO THIS PLACE!
