Reviews Kemper House Worthington
July 2024
I have only positive things to say about Cotter House. They worked very quickly to help with a difficult family situation. Aleks went above and beyond to facilitate the intake process, handling everything efficiently and professionally while communicating with us and being understanding of the situation. Casie also went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comforted, and was always there to offer support during the most difficult moments. We deeply appreciated her kindness and professionalism throughout the entire process. The nursing team was also unbelievably professional and kind. The facility itself is gorgeous and very clean. I'm very grateful for the way Cotter House treated my family during a challenging time in our lives.
July 2024
The Cotter House has been a blessing. My husband attended their day friend program, and after a couple of months needed emergency placement into the facility. The staff went over and above to make this transition as smooth as possible. They were very attentive to my needs and high anxiety during this transition. They have always been open to suggestions and concerns of any kind. They not only listen to my concerns, but act upon them with a favorable outcome. The facility is one of the cleanest and best kept facilities that I toured prior to placement of my husband. Highly recommend the Cotter House.

Cotter House has provided a balance of independence and safety that my spouse no longer had at home. The level of care at Cotter House will evolve as his disease progresses. The staff are wonderful, there are activities throughout each day, and the food is farm to table- my husband eats better at Cotter than he did at home. I have no regrets about moving my spouse to Cotter House.

In February 2020 my daughter and I came into the facility due to needing a place for my father. Prior to this, my Dad was at an independent facility whose memory care unit was not acceptable in our minds. When we walked into the Kemper House we met with Greg Cini and was given a tour right on the spot. We could not have found a more perfect place for my father. The staff is very caring and attentive. All of his needs are met. He gets a lot of attention and is very content. I am so thankful we found such a special place.

Cotter House has been such a blessing to my family and I. Back in 2020, my grandfather could no longer live independently and needed a memory care facility. I toured many places and one he actually moved into. Upon visiting several times I just felt it wasn't home for him and looked elsewhere. As soon as a walked into Cotter I felt relief. Relief that there was a place that looked like a "home" and not a facility. My tour was given by Greg, the owner of Cotter House and he couldn't have been nicer. When my grandpa moved in he was greeting with smiles and loved it right away. The aides all love him and even call him grandpa. They celebrated his birthday recently and made him feel so special. Every time I walk in, he is happy and loved. He looks great and is so well taken care of. After four years of living there, I am so happy he can call this place home. He is living his best life getting pampered by people who love him. He may not know what day it is, but he knows that he feels at home and is comfortable. Cotter house has given my family relief and their nurses are always so easy to talk to and voice concerns. I will forever be grateful to Cotter House!

My dad has been at the Kemper House for a year. I can't say enough good things about the staff and the facility. They are the most caring group and go out of the way for the residents. My dad has been in multiple facilities in the last 3 years, they are not all same. Kemper is the best without a doubt.
November 2023
The most succinct thing that I can say about Kemper House: they value their residents. They have a deeper understanding of the diseases that bring someone into their community, and their focus on dementia and Alzheimer's allows them to design everything at the facility with this in mind. The hallways are designed in a circular fashion so that wandering residents can walk and find their rooms more easily. The food is, to the greatest extant possible, sourced locally and healthy (its worth saying, the food is almost always good, and when they cook for special occasions the food is amazing). Life enrichment and exercise programs are designed to stimulate their minds, and are tailored to each resident's abilities. They understand what triggers people with these ailments, and so they are able to engage with them and deescalate difficult moments. The staff also develop meaningful connections with their residents. They treat them as members of their own family. You just get the sense when you are there that everything is so purposeful and well thought out. One of the great things about Kemper House is that their central staff all share their core philosophy, and it shines through in everything they do. One of the things I have admired - no staff member there is too good for any task. It is sometimes tough to understand what everyone's role is, but whoever I reach out to always takes ownership of an issue and does their best to ameliorate. They work very hard too - you get the sense that the core staff members treat this as an extension of their own life, showing up to weekend events and coming in to see the people they work with. Taking a loved one to a memory care facility is always going to be a painful process. And with these ailments, there are many problems that even the most loving care can't fix. But the staff at Kemper House is deeply committed to honoring the elderly and making their lives as meaningful as possible. And you can be sure that you will learn more about your loved one's disease, and receive honest and useful advice for how to deal with the disease's inevitable progression. There is a sign hanging in there that I reflect on a lot when I go to visit my dad: "what a precious privilege it is to be alive - to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love." The staff here really lives by this philosophy, they see the best in your loved ones, they care for them in a way that brings out the best in them. I believe that Kemper House is unrivaled in the the area for the care of people experiencing dementia and Alzheimer's, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to someone in this situation.
September 2023
The Kemper staff is second to none! When you make the difficult decision to move your loved one to a memory care home, you want staff that genuinely cares for your loved one and a place that truly is their new home. Kemper is that and more. I have been so happy with the caring, attentive staff and the facility itself is lovely. Kemper takes pride in all they do for residents and we, as family members, feel confident in our loved one's care and well being.
September 2023
I could not have more positive regard for Kemper House, and for the care and compassion they have given not only to our Lynette, but also to myself and our family through this difficult change in our lives. From the beginning Lynette was a day friend, which provided great support for me. When she became ill about a month before projected move in date, they graciously moved the date up, which was a great relief as I was simply not able to care for her as I had in the past, due to physical and dementia related issues. I resisted this move for as long as possible, always believing that no one could love and care for her at a level I could accept. I was wrong. The love and compassion this staff gives to Lynette is more than I could ever imagined. To name any one staff, is unfair to all of the wonderful people who care for her, but watching Fatu help her to while singing que sera, Saundra responding so quickly to whatever she needs, Ehma (sp?) calling her "Professer", or Liam just expressing so much compassion. While a day friend, she was sometimes resistant, but Rebecca could always get her to come in and participate. I miss her more than I can express, but am very happy that she is at Kemper House surrounded by that loving staff. ___Michael W.

The staff at Kemper House has been wonderful to my mom! They were able to stabilize and provide physical therapy for her during a difficult transition. They exceeded my expectations and provided support to family members too. Aleks, Sara and Casie were understanding, caring, and patient with us. I highly recommend Kemper House. Positive Responsiveness, Quality, Professionalism
July 2023
Kemper House Worthington, Ohio At the beginning of this year, our family realized that Mom could not live alone. Many issues, falling eyesight, inability to do self-care, refusing assistance and having a fall were concerning. We had prepared for this time, researching 12 different facilities. The one we felt was the best was Kemper House. Aleks Siano at Kemper was a great help, even before we made the decision where to go. We worked a plan to move Mom from her home situation to memory care. After she was hospitalized for her fall ,we were able to make this transition. Guidance from Kemper staff during this time was critical for our entire family, not just my mom. She still wants to go home, and probably always will. But she has gained weight and had not had a UTI since she arrived at Kemper. She is engaging in many of the activities and is always ready to get on the bus when there is a trip outside. The change from living at home alone, with little social interaction to a much more vibrant life has made it easier to be comfortable with our decision to move Mom to Kemper.
May 2023
We have visited several Alzheimer care facilities and not even close. Kemper House is amazing! My mom was in the adult day care program twice a week at Kemper House. As things became worse quickly, Kemper House did so many things to get us in a full time room and help my dad feel comfortable letting his wife stay in a full time care facility. The staff cares about my mom and treats her like family. This disease sucks! Thanks to everyone at Kemper House!

My husband is a resident at Kemper House Worthington. I don't believe we could have found a better place for him to receive care as we navigate his Alzheimer's diagnosis. The staff at Kemper House is phenomenal. They have gone out of their way to make my husband and our family feel welcome. The nursing staff has been very open and honest with me regarding my husband's medical needs. They are always available to answer any questions or concerns I have had. The Life Enrichment team is awesome. My husband thoroughly enjoys the wide variety of activities they plan for the residents. These activities keep him busy and engaged in life at Kemper House. My husband receives regular physical therapy in the gym at Kemper House. This is so important for continued mobility and strength. Finally, the front office staff is always friendly, welcoming, and available to address any questions I might have. I have no doubt that my husband is receiving the best possible care at Kemper House Worthington.
January 2023
Top notch dementia and Alzheimer's care community. They really have excellent medical and administrative staff caring for the residents. Only the best are selected to be a part of the Kemper family. The owner is just multi-talented, most genuine human being I have met. He clearly curated the place with love and purpose. You sense it the moment you walk in.

August 2022
Our family is so grateful for all of the folks at Kemper House Worthington. We moved our mom into the Kemper home last August, shortly after the passing of our step-father. The facility she was in prior to Kemper was just not right for her. After we visited Kemper we knew that this was the right place for her to be. From our introductory visit and tour with Aleks, many interactions with Casie, and all of the gals that work with our mom on a daily basis, they are all top-notch. They deserve the great reputation that they have received. They call me whenever my mom has any health concerns. The therapists give me weekly reports on how things are going for her. Kemper's communication with us has been a breath of fresh air. We are so fortunate to have found Kemper and would highly recommend them to anyone dealing with dementia or Alzheimer's.
May 2022
From my first interaction, Kemper House felt like a second home and eventually the place my wife felt was her primary home. We were greeted by Greg, owner and Aleks, Outreach Director and the staff were very helpful and felt like family. My wife Cissy was greeted at the front door and from that moment on she felt comfortable. She had no reservations about going to a strange new environment. She knew that she was accepted from day 1. She enjoyed every member of the staff. She had a smile on her face every time someone would talk to her. She adopted Kemper House as her new family and always wanted to come back to "home" which was now Kemper. Anna Marie made it a point to say good morning to Cissy with every interaction. Emma and Emmy always took care of Cissy like she was family. Kiyanna was great with communicating on a daily basis with me and gave me reassurance as to progress- good or bad. I can't say enough about Sara and Hillary. We were all amazed at the detailed care given from the Directors to the front-line staff. Megan with Life Enrichment was always so attentive. She would make sure to tell Cissy of the daily events happening and coached her to participate even when she would resist. She made sure that Cissy was always involved and engaged. May would come in and always made sure that her clothes were spotless. My wife enjoyed looking nice and presentable and May ensured that continued even in her new home. Alyssa and Aleks were like sisters to Cissy and had a special way to connect with her. If a smile was an indication of happiness, I knew that my wife was at peace. There is no better care anywhere other than Kemper House Worthington.
May 2022
I am so grateful to the staff of Kemper House for the kind and compassionate care they give my husband. I especially like the way each staff member treats each patient with respect, and talks to them as they would to any other adult, not talking down to them like some people do to toddlers. The nurses and therapists are tuned in to each patient's needs. The facility is sparkling clean, and there is a full schedule of activities to engage the residents. Kemper House not only helps my husband, it also gives me peace of mind.
February 2022
The Kemper team has been great caring for my mother. They handled the difficult transition for her to memory care with kindness, understanding, and professionalism. The staff has provided a warm and friendly home for my mother. Kemper treats the residents with respect and individualized care. I observe while visiting that each staff member interacts with my mother with a personalized touch. From great meals to enjoyable as well as stimulating activities and entertainment Kemper is excellent. It is comforting to know that my mother is in a safe, warm, and caring environment. If you are faced with the need to move a loved one into memory care I would highly recommend Kemper.
January 2022
My husband has been at Kemper House a little over a month now and I cannot say enough good things about the care of their residents. The ratio of aides to resident helps to keep the dignified care of each person running smoothly. I don't worry about my husband's care as the compassionate aides have been trained to handle any and all issues. It is very evident that they work as a team and all team members are respectful and kind to each other as well as to the residents. The food at Kemper is always fresh and inviting and served with dignity and respect. Kemper House is very clean and neat and never smells. There are so many creative activities that I cannot begin to name all of them but a few that stand out are the Symphony, the Petting Zoo, the OSU student led Silent Dancing and the bus rides. The administrative staff are present, available and compassionate. They are easy to speak with and ever ready to assist with concerns. I applaud every single aide in my husband's community from Tasia's bubbly personality, Emmy's enthusiasm and laughter, Anne Marie's quiet calm, Sandra's attentiveness, Qiana's cheerfulness, Patrick's calming presence, Rosemary's encouraging attitude, Alyssa's kind spirit, Meghan's compassion, Molly's gentle nature...I could go on and I'm sure that I've missed someone but for brevity I'll simply say that if you're able, Kemper House is the home away from home that your loved one deserves. Kemper House should be the standard.

January 2022
Kemper House is an incredibly beautiful, special place. We placed our loved on there after being rejected by a number of facilities based on the deterioration of his mental health and progression of dementia-like symptoms. Aleks and her team "took a chance" on him and us, and helped a complicated individual and situation transition to nursing care with such patience and compassion. Everyone from the front desk person to cleaning and hospitality seemed to learn his name quickly, and made him and us feel so welcomed. By the time he was admitted, I was worn out and needed a break - and Kemper House put my mind at ease that I could step away and he would not only be cared for, but would be cared for by people who have far more experience and expertise than I with patients like Bill. As his physical disease progressed, we were able to utilize the hospice services available on-site, making that difficult transition not only easier but absolutely seamless. When he passed, we felt so loved and comforted and supported. I just cannot recommend this facility enough. I know that if I am ever in need of this kind of care again - for a loved one or myself, Kemper House would be my very first choice.
August 2021
The person-centered care demonstrated by The Kemper House staff has been beyond my expectations. Beginning with the Outreach Director, Aleks Siano, the Assessment In-Take Nurse, Tabitha Jenkins, and the Director of Nursing, Sara Stewart who have walked beside me through this journey of Alzheimer's and supported the transition in ways I did not imagine. And, to the actively participating owner, Greg Cini, who has experienced himself caring for a loved one with Alzheimer's and engages with the residents on a personal level. Thank you to all of you named, and the rest of the Kemper staff, for what you do to make the lives of our loved ones filled with dignity, compassion, and caring each and every day.
August 2021
So when we needed to start looking for dementia care for my wife, Kemper House stood out above all other places. Kemper House is so unique in their approach to dementia care. With their community-wide focus on love, compassion, and whole-person health, their is no comparison to other communities. The entire staff, each person there, operates with the love, safety, and well-being of each resident as their only focus. Having a loved one in a dementia community can be very troubling and hard to deal with as a family member or friend. It was the hardest thing in my life to have my wife move there at such a young age (57). The loving environment community-wide is such a relief for family and friends. The communication / education from staff is excellent and really sets our minds at ease that our wife / mother / friend is in the best place that she can be in. She feels safe, cared-for, and has a sense of purpose at Kemper. Not sure what else I can say, but this HAS to be the best place for dementia care, anywhere.
August 2021
My family made the decision to move my husband into Kemper House during the pandemic. I have greatly appreciated the staff at Kemper House. Every person I interact with on the phone, window visits, and in-person visits, knows my husband and is able to tell stories about him. This says a lot to me, that even the kitchen and maintenance staff personally are involved enough with the residents to know him so well. I also love the daily involvement of Greg (co-owner). Kemper House has a family atmosphere, not a large corporation feel. I can tell the culture of the staff is positive and caring, which passes to the residents. Thank you to everyone at Kemper House Worthington for providing a safe and warm environment to all of the residents.
August 2021
If you have a loved one with Alzheimer's there is no place you will find that is better than Kemper House Worthington. From the "highest" person in the organization to the one cleaning windows they only hire and train quality people. I was very concerned about how confrontational my wife could be in "new" situations. Dropping her off was the worst day of my live but a team of four met her at the door to welcome her. As they took her in Sara Stewart, Nurse Manager, turned to me and said: " we will take very good care of her for you". Those words rang true time and again as I worked with all the wonderful people who truly loved and cared for my wife as one of their own. I would also say that the level of communications and inclusion in decision making is unprecedented. You will know what is happening and why decisions are made and that was in the midst of the Covet19 pandemic.
July 2021
The Kemper staff is extremely professional and friendly. They show a genuine love for their residents. The exercise program is the best I have seen. Highly recommend Kemper Worthington
July 2021
My husband has been at Kemper House Worthington since it opened in November 2019 and I couldn't be happier with the care he is receiving. The staff have truly become his family and I see true affection and regard for him as a human being in their interactions with him. During this pandemic my access to him has been limited but I have not worried about him and sleep well at night knowing he does also. Communication from Kemper is excellent with weekly e-mails from administration, direct phone access to the nurses station and staff supervisory personnel, and updates from wellness therapists. Staff training is a priority at Kemper House, Chef Amy knows the importance of bodily nourishment to support the mind, stimulating activities are provided on a daily basis and the facility is perfectly maintained. When my husband first became a resident he particularly liked the bidet and the heated toilet seat and I always secretly wanted to try it out!!!!
June 2021
I'd like to share my Kemper House experience. My sister had a brief hospital stay and then was admitted into skilled nursing care. During that time, she lost 17 pounds and looked like, pardon my expression, "death warmed over". I knew I had to remove her from that situation but because of COVID that wasn't going to be easy. With the commitment and assistance from Kemper House, I was able to get her moved to Kemper House. Within a very short time, she bounced back. She began eating (loving the food) and gaining strength which I attribute to the positive attention and support she received at Kemper House. She is thriving there. I will always be grateful to Kemper House because I truly believe the move there brought my sister back to life and brought joy and fun into her life. Each and every associate I have encountered at KH has the personal attributes and training to provide the perfect blend of care to my sister.

Total Care Therapy has been partnered with Kemper House since before Kemper House's grand opening and our viewpoints on what it means to truly care for a person could not be more aligned. Kemper House is doing things for our aging loved ones that stand alone in the assisted living community, let alone the dementia/ Alzheimer's specific community. Caitlynn Forston is leading the Kemper House Restorative wellness program which has been a year in the making to provide residents with one on one attention to maintain their physical abilities, sensory stimulation as well as mental and emotional support. Restorative caregiver, Tim Barlett spends time with the residents of Kemper House all week long with a carefully procured and individualized plan for each resident to maximize their quality of life. Owner of Kemper House of Worthington, Greg Cini has orchestrated and developed the most knowledgeable, hardworking and loving crew ( The Kemper Krew!) to care for the beautiful residents of the community. Kemper House is a warm, loving home. As a therapist in a home care setting, I have never felt more welcomed into a community of professionals and residents. Thank you Kemper House.
June 2021
The staff at Kemper House is amazing. Someone with advanced dementia can be very difficult to care for, the staff provides excellent, compassionate care. The facility is beautiful, amazing food, activities, and exercise for the residents are all top notch. I would not hesitate to have a family member live and be cared for at Kemper House.
June 2021
We love Kemper House! Both my mom and dad have been living here for over a year now, and knowing they are safe and well cared for has been such a burden lifted from our family. The nurses and staff are always available to answer any questions we may have, and our regular Care Conferences are so great to hear about how my parents are doing. Thanks to Greg especially for being so patient with my dad! Kemper has been everything we wanted and more!
May 2021
I will always be grateful to Kemper House and their dedicated hard-working staff, and the owner Greg and Exec. Director Dan, for creating an amazingly caring place with highly competent staff to care for people with dementia. I wish there were more such residences available to people. Right after Kemper opened I moved my father there from another facility in Columbus, which as his dementia worsened was no longer a satisfactory place for him. Although my father only lived at Kemper for two months before he passed, it was evident after just one day there (no exaggeration!) that this experience was going to transform him--and it did. In short order he was HAPPY, he enjoyed the people, he ate delicious, healthy meals and tucked in every bite--what a difference. He actually said to us the day after moving in, "I must have done something right to be in a place like this!" I cannot begin to say what a difference Kemper made, and I know the staff really enjoyed him as well. The staff aren't indifferent to the residents; they really go out of their way to know each person, and know their background--who they were before dementia took over their brain. They work at engaging people, not just providing the basics of care. I had no doubt after meeting Greg that moving my father to Kemper would be the right thing to do, whether he only had a few weeks, or months to live (I hoped for longer of course). To know that the last couple of months of his life were happy gives me great peace now. Nursing staff, aides, social workers, people like Lois, Sara, Amanda, Chelsea, Caitlynn---really, everyone on staff there--are all outstanding, caring people, the kind of people who are treasures. Thank you, Greg, for taking the "leap" to create Kemper House Worthington.
April 2021
I reached out to Kemper House to see if they could accommodate an individual who was really going through a hard time. She had already lived, unsuccessfully, in other communities and her family needed a solution asap. Danielle and the team at Kemper not only made her feel at home but gave her family the peace of mind they needed. The teams loving approach helped her through her hard time and allowed her to make beautiful memories with her family again. I will never forget their kindness and will always recommend them as the best memory care in Ohio. If you are worried about making this decision they are more than willing to help you look at your options. You can feel the warmth and love when you walk in. I promise you will feel better after meeting their team.
April 2021
My mom now lives at Kemper House Worthington. It was a very emotional transition for my family and I, and we can't say enough positive things about Kemper House and their staff. From my experience, I have encountered multiple staff members who have always greeted me with kindness and understanding. There really seems to be a commitment to love throughout the building. They go the extra mile and truly keep the residents' best interests at the center of everything they do. They also, keep my family's minds and hearts at ease with frequent communication. As you can imagine, that can be incredibly difficult at times given the circumstances and especially difficult during the COVID-19 pandemic. We haven't been able to actually go in to her community or visit in her neighborhood but we look forward to a time soon when we can all sit and eat a meal together. There's honestly no other place I would want my mom to be taken care of. We got lucky with Kemper House being our first choice. It was the perfect choice. Best decision we could've made.
April 2021
While I haven't had any family stay with Kemper House Worthington, I have worked with Greg and his team since day one. As a community partner, they are about more than just the work they do within their walls and have continually been a great partner in programming with the Griswold Center and shown that they truly care about the wellness of the Worthington community as a whole. From in house memory screenings and educational lunch and learns to making their Zoom platform available to us and assisting with virtual program offerings during the pandemic, we are grateful for Greg, Chelsea and the whole Kemper family for their partnership and friendship. Wonderful people!

My Mom had dementia. We could no longer care for her at home. She and my Dad were married for more than 60 years. We needed a place where Mom could be cared for and Dad would be comfortable visiting. I contacted 7 facilities. My brother and I visited three facilities. The team at Kemper House Worthington earned our trust and confidence for this important task. Danielle was our first contact. We found her to be informative. The facility is beautiful. Dan, Sarah, Greg and the entire nursing and care team were awesome. To be specific, we received timely updates. They never made us feel like we weren't supposed to be there. They always made time to help us find something or someone needed. Mom's hygiene was better than it had been in more than a year. Her room and the whole facility always looked and smelled clean. The Chef and dining facilities are exceptional. The therapy/gym, fidget stations, beauty salon, Olive (the therapy dog), and court yard, the security for doors and access... there was nothing lacking. My Dad, who has only ever lived on the property where his home is, said that if he needed a facility he would be comfortable staying at the Kemper House Worthington. I would be comfortable staying at the Kemper House Worthington. I can recommend the Kemper House Worthington without reservation and count them as friends, maintaining contact now six months after Mom's graduation to the next life. We know she was cared for and feel that, through the Kemper House Worthington, her last days gave her the best quality of life she was capable of realizing. Thanks Dan and your team for loving my Mom and us. - Ken

We are very thankful for the kind, caring staff at Kemper House. They are so patient and positive. When our parents moved here, we were happy to find a place where our Mom and Dad could stay together as her Dementia and needs increased. The environment is upbeat and understanding. And the knowledgeable nurses, aides, and staff have been wonderful in supporting and caring for both of them.

My journey with Kemper House Worthington started in March of 2020, the beginning of COVID restrictions. My sister had already been in two other facilities and in and out of the hospital. I live in Florida and was responsible for my sister's care. Needless to say I felt helpless. The first person I was in contact with was Sara, the nurse that assessed my sister. The caring, loving and compassionate person that took care of my sister while she was at Kemper House. Next came Danielle. I worked with her during the admittance process and getting my sister situated in her apartment, another caring and companionate person that surely went above and beyond. I had to purchase clothes, bedding, toiletries etc and had them shipped to Kemper House. Who got everything in order?, Danielle, with no hesitation. Next person, Greg, who offered to pick up some of my sisters boxes from the previous place she was, and I accepted his most gracious offer. My sister has since passed away and I often think how lucky I was to find Kemper House and how lucky my sister was to have been taken care of by all of the wonderful staff at Kemper House.

I couldn't be happier with Kemper House Worthington and their caring staff members! My mother was at another facility but I became increasingly frustrated with her care and the lack of communication. Although her move to Kemper came during a very difficult time because of Covid it was a positive experience from day one. Everyone I have met has been genuinely kind, nurturing and cares about the residents including the owner! They seem to have a real understanding of how to care for dementia/alzheimer patients. I'm sure that caring for the residents can be challenging but everyone maintains a positive attitude. I am pleased with the communication and updates I get from Kemper I even participate in a support group for family members. Most importantly my mother is happy there and therefore I am happy.

If you are at the point of having to put your loved one in a place for help, the Kemper House Worthington is where you want to be. You are instantly family and your loved one is showered with love and care. They are never left alone to deal with their anxieties. Plus they keep them physically active. The dedication of the of the wonderful administration staff; the incredible and knowledgeable nurses; and the caring and kind aides that keep their days filled with "happy" is what makes this a VERY SPECIAL place. During this pandemic I was at peace that they were taking good care of my sister. They did everything to make families feel calm while they were on top of this very scary time. My life and my sister's life has been blessed with a sense of peace, caring and love. Just can't express how grateful I am for choosing Kemper House Worthington!!! Theresa Mangini

We looked for a special Alzheimer's residence for my Mom last summer, and were fortunate to find Kemper House Worthington early on in our search. They have been a godsend with their loving care for my Mom, and their open communication and professional interactions with me and my wife about my Mom has been doing and care that she needs! My wife and I both worked in senior living facilities and services for over 40 years, and we have nothing but the highest regard for the program that Kemper House Worthington has developed for those individuals who have Alzheimers or some other dementia disease! The staff at Kemper House Worthington has been wonderful with Mom!

The right place at the right time with the right people - that is what my sister and I found when we quickly needed to find a residence in Columbus for our father after our mother unexpectedly died in New York State just before Christmas 2019. Kemper House Worthington is the whole package for comfort, care, compassion, and dedicated staff who "adopted" my dad as part of their family, like another uncle or grandpa, joking and laughing with him as if lifelong relatives. It was a relief. Of special note about KHW is the access to music programming, which my dad fully embraced with singing, dancing, and even a little entertaining. He was joy-filled when participating. The delicious, healthy food prepared by the creative kitchen staff is beyond compare. I so looked forward to having dinner with my dad there on Saturday evenings (pre-COVID). The environment is a comfort, with no institutional feel. Anyone who is seeking dementia care for a loved one should not make a decision without visiting Kemper House Worthington - absolutely!

For those of us who have people in our lives with dementia, the Kemper House Worthington is a very special place. The KHW teams' focus on the individual and their specific needs is remarkable. Every team member that I have met, from the lady who manages the laundry to the receptionist to the professional staff works to ensure that every resident has the best day that they can possibly have. This is a very tall order but the Kemper House team manages to accomplish this every day. I sleep very well knowing that my dad has a purpose and is receiving the very best care.

We took a leap of faith by moving our mom to Kemper House sight unseen, and during COVID, and it absolutely exceeded our expectations. We were in a situation where we needed to move our mom very quickly, in less than 24 hours, which is a timeframe that is not deemed possible by a lot of places. We had contacted Kemper House at about 4:30 pm one day and were able to have our mom physically moved in at 12:30 pm the next day. The speed, care and grace with which this incredibly quick move was handled, and during the pandemic no less, was phenomenal. And things only got better from there. The Kemper House staff, nurses, aides, and administrative staff alike, not only truly understand dementia and how best to navigate the disease, they genuinely care and love the residents. One example of the uniqueness we found at Kemper was that they asked for my mom's story her background, history, who she was before she got sick. That story was learned by the staff to aid in their care of her. I personally witnessed this in action, so it is not just completed paperwork that is filed away in a drawer. My mom was not her disease she was a very vibrant, positive, energizing person filled with smiles and laughter. The Kemper House staff saw that; they see beyond the disease and see the person within. My only regret is that my mom was not able to live longer to reap the benefits of this amazing place with its incredible staff.

I highly recommend the Kemper House to anyone with dementia or Alzheimer's. My mother has dementia and was in an ECF for about a month. She wouldn't eat, was losing weight, cried all the time , became much more confused. I heard about The Kemper House and did some research. We took my mom there and it's the best thing we could have done for her. She's not agitated, her appetite is great and she's gaining weight ! No more crying and she laughs a lot and is very happy there. The staff is specially trained in these diseases and are GREAT with the residents and our family. They're always pleasant and patient. Mom also always appears well groomed. I'd like to give praise to Molly that helps mom with our face time calls. She's wonderful and caring. Kemper House engages the residents which helps them tremendously. I rest easy knowing mom is so well taken care of and happy. Barb Dunn

If you are looking for a safe home for your loved one who is struggling with Alzheimer's disease or another form of dementia, PLEASE VISIT THE KEMPER HOUSE. Please DO NOT settle for the memory section in an assisted living facility... your family deserves better! My loved one was warmly welcomed into the The Kemper Family from her first moment in this beautiful facility. The Kemper Family is a staff of dedicated individuals who treat each resident with dedicated care & compassion, from the facilities staff to the Executive Director. My aunt is now thriving in this deeply loving environment where she receives the care and dignity that she deserves. I urge you to look at this facility, you will be happy that you did! In late 2019, my family was looking for the right place for our father. Dad had short stays at two other assisted living homes before we found Kemper House in Worthington. The facility was new and designed specifically for Dementia and Alzheimer patients. I met with the new resident coordinator and toured the home, and found that it was extremely clean and everyone was really friendly. I learned that the owner's office was on-site and I eventually met Mr. Cini and was impressed with his knowledge and his hands-on style of leadership. Mr. Cini and his staff have created a great atmosphere at Kemper House. Dad's care was excellent and he was treated like family by everyone at Kemper House, and therefore when the pandemic hit we had confidence that he was going to be in good hands. A tough time for everyone in these unprecedented times. Kemper House afforded window visits and porch visits when able, and facetime calls to stay in touch. Dad was in the Olentangy wing of the home and our experience with the staff there was excellent. The food is really good, and prior to the pandemic I was able to visit with dad and get lunch or dinner with him. The home is designed with the Alzheimer/dementia resident in mind, and activities and physical therapy help to retain the best quality of life for the residents. When travel was allowed they would take residents out on trips around town. I would like to once again thank the staff here at Kemper House, they all treated my father like he was family. A special thanks to all the staff at Kemper House, frontline heroes in these unprecedented times. Dad passed away on November 23, 2020, I'm sure he is watching over this special group at Kemper House. I have no reservation in saying that you would have to look far and wide to find a better place for your loved one.

Kemper House was home to my Mom shortly after it's opening and for 1 week after the Coronavirus shut down. Kemper House is different than most assisted living/memory care facilities because they are focused on providing needed and compassionate care and not just the bottom line. There is more staff per resident than competitor facilities and they hire heart and not just bodies to fill roles. There is no job beneath any employee, including the Owner and the Executive Director. Staff often went above and beyond to provide care to my Mom, especially nurses Lois and Moses, hospitality team members Amy and Ryan, activities team members Anna and Maddi and many caregivers like Nikki. Food is fresh, nutritious and prepared well - something that is uncommon at competitor facilities. Families have access to the Leadership team who, when the coronavirus lockdown began, met with me to discuss additional care requests for my Mom and then personally ensured those requests were met. Kemper House understands the needs of people with memory diseases and has designed their facility and caregiving model to meet those needs. After experiences at two assisted living facilities before Kemper House, it was clear to our family that Kemper House was one of the best. As my brother said " They were the answer to our prayers."

Who knows if you are making the right decision for someone else? There is always that question lingering and strong emotion when the children have to facilitate the split up of their parents. The kind souls at Kemper House gave us the courage to work through the process to help mom be safe with her Alzheimer and dad to accept that this was her next best step.

We are so grateful our parents live at Kemper House Worthington! It is a positive, nurturing environment and the staff go above-and-beyond to ensure they are well cared for. Whether it's planning a special birthday - taking the time to send us pictures - coordinating a special holiday meal together - their individualized approach to care consistently exceeds our expectations. Greg is so clearly passionate and committed to giving residents every opportunity to live their best life and every staff person shows care and compassion. We are especially thankful for Sara's willingness to spend as much time as necessary to communicate updates and consult about our Mom's progress. It is a relief to know our parents are living in such a loving environment and we feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the Kemper House community.
