What a fantastic place! My mother has needed something like this but is super picky. However, Michael and his coworkers were so helpful in walking her through and explaining everything to us so well. I have the peace of mind that my mother is in good hands. Thank you!

I had the privilege of performing music for the residents & guests at one of their summer garden parties. Michael was so accommodating throughout the booking process & on the day of the event, and so was everyone else I encountered! Wonderful staff, very clean place, and very sweet residents. We can't wait to return to perform for them again

I work for Arch Plumbing and have done plumbing work in the building and I have to say that and manager and staff are very respectful and show very high professionalism. If I had to be put in a elder care, I would definitely choose 468 Lakeside Park.

The people who work at Lakeside Park are incredibly patient and kind and take very good care of the residents. The place itself is very cheerful and clean. It's organized into "neighborhoods" with each group of bedrooms off its own living room area. The place has a very homey and comfortable feel to it.

This is a beautiful community inside and out! It's nestle right next to a beautiful park. The inside has cute little nooks, where we can visit but not feel excluded from what's going on in the community. I feel extreme safe and grateful for the care that staff here have for our loved one.

Everywhere I looked, staff were very kind and patient with their seniors. Everyone smiled and acknowledge me as I walked through the building, but still was there and present with their resident. I saw everyone being treated with respect, which speaks volumes to me.

My wife and I recently moved my mom into Lakeside Park and are relieved that we did. We first heard about this place through word of mouth: a family friend whose dad lived gave it high marks. After touring several other facilities, this was an easy choice. I've lived in Oakland for more than 20 years, I've seen it go through its ups and downs. Lakeside Park is safe, clean, well-lit, and quiet. It's a stone's throw from Lake Merritt, Fairyland, shops on Grand Ave, and the Saturday farmer's market. The staff have consistently been helpful, available, and communicative, which made an otherwise challenging move that much easier.

The staff at Lakeside Park are kind, accommodating, professional, & just fantastic all around. I needed to get my mom into memory care quickly after rapid degeneration of her dementia. (She went downhill very quickly during a stay in a convalescent hospital after suffering from an infection at her prior retirement home). I can't thank the staff at Lakeside Park enough for making the transition as easy as possible under such trying circumstances. What a relief to know that she'll have the support to socialize in a safe & friendly environment, not to mention a daily routine that may aid her cognitive health.

My wife was discharged from the hospital just before Christmas in 2022 into hospice care, with a few weeks to a few months to live. She has been doing surprising well at Lakeside Park. At the time of discharge from the hospital, her mood was not stable and she could not walk after her long stay at the hospital. These days, her moods are much more stable and she can walk a little, holding onto the handrails by the wall. She enjoyed the exercise at the facility which might have helped with her improved strength and she had recovered her ability to paint. I really appreciate the attention and care by the staff towards my wife. They do have a problem of turnover for some of the entry level caregivers. In general, however, the caregivers have been responsive when we ask for help. My wife is doing as well as one can expect, four months after her discharge from the hospital. The way she is going, I think she is going to beat the doctors' projection. I think of that is due, in a large part, to the care my wife received from Lakeside Park. Lakeside Park is by no mean perfect but I would say they are very good.

I've worked in the Caregiving field for over 30yrs & have followed several of my clients to Skilled Nursing, Senior Living & Memory Care Facilities but this one takes the prize on so many levels!!! Starting with the staff, the beautiful & clean environment & last but not least, the care that's put into the making of the food for the residents. We toured this place recently looking for a new home for my grandmother and it was just stunning. Everyone was so kind and helpful. There is this gorgeous little garden and everything is decorated in a way that really makes it feel like a home.

As a health care professional working in the senior care field (driver cognitive assessments), I have the opportunity to tour numerous memory care communities and get to know staff. Lakeside Park in Oakland stands out as one of the leaders in this specialized field. This community was designed and built from the get-go as a purpose-built memory care community. The layout is aesthetic, and the garden areas are tranquil and calming to the soul. Dedicated spaces such as the dining area were stunning and embodied a fine dining experience. Meals together are so much more special. They even have a "man-cave" for the guys to hang out! I really appreciated how there were areas designed with different decor and vibes and for those residents who just want to be...there's an inviting space for them as well. Staff were welcoming, caring and you can see how much pride they have in the care and activities they provide. For sure, I will be recommending Lakeside Park to families who are looking to transition their loved one.

Out of all the communities for dementia Alzheimer's care. This community was purposely built for all all Dementia care and it shows. The food the staff are awesome and residents well cared for. I love the small garden, a hidden Gem in Oakland.

My siblings and I are very happy that our mom lives at Lakeside Park. She's been there for about six months and the love, care and stimulation she receives has helped her quality of life, and we feel a lot better knowing she is in a safe environment. We love seeing the staff engage with the residents as they are very warm and attentive. We were concerned that she would miss gardening in her backyard, but she is very happy to spend time in the lovely garden at Lakeside. With Lake Merritt only a half-block away, it is easy to take daily walks and enjoy a little bird watching. The common areas, including the dining room, feel like home -- not institutional. Our mom has settled in comfortably and now considers Lakeside her home.

My mom has been her for five years. This is the best residence for those suffering from memory loss on the west coast. It is not a depressing nursing home environment at all. There are psych interns supporting and enriching the lives of the residents. The staff is incredible. Each resident is cherished and respected as an individual regardless of what stage of illness they are in from the upper management on down. They all care deeply for each resident's well being. I feel lucky every day that I found this place for my mom. Lakeside Park is part of my family now.
