March 2025
Writing this because today (3/18/25) a request for crackers was the last straw. I've been at South Pointe since January, gave a "good review" awhile back, and thank God I'll be leaving this Saturday 3/22/25 (I've worked out hard physically to get out of here). Mind you, there are some good people here but the bad definitely outweighs the good. Here's the honest rundown: 1. They are consistently out of milk and or "dry cereal." 2. More times than not, they water down their Orange Juice to stretch it. 3. Here's a good one; I asked for Crackers and the kitchen got rude and told staff to tell me that they are "OUT" (more times than not) and that the "Dollar General Store" is around the corner. 5. The "Food" here..... Top score: -100 + (yep, negative 100 + plus). I spend money ordering out or have a relative shop for food. (3 months here and, I've sampled the food 8 times and that's chicken noodle soup out of a can). 4. Show & Tell Note: 3/18/25 @ 8:15pm, I pushed the light for assistance, after being left and not escorted from the shower (fall prevention)..... 45 minutes passed and no one came. 5. In February when I had a serious medical issue and ended up in the hospital, the nurse on my floor ( his name is [name removed]) told me (in front of witnesses), and I quote: I can't call 911 (EMS) for you, you have to call them yourself. 6. Example: At 3:50am on 3/21/25, my roommate was treated harshly by an aide who was supposed to change (clean him up) him. I've witness this type of treatment several times during my extended stay at South Pointe. 7. Residents can report incidents and concerns, I've done that but have witnessed little change. I could go on with more things that I've witnessed since I've been here..... But I don't think it will matter much. I feel for the people that I'm leaving there. Again.... There are some good people who work at South Pointe (they know who they are and where they are because I've personally told them that, from the administration down to the Tech, Nurses, Maintenance & House Keeping... They know). This is just the tip of the iceberg of what residents pay for. It's a negatively AMAZING!! Oh, one more thing; Some employees do steal from residents (ask residents to confirm) and some "May" take product home with them. This place is a total MESS!! Look, find a way to keep your elders at home! Papers or not, I can't and won't stay in this place another minute. On the road back to Texas to be with my family. DUCES!! Clarence C.
