This is in response to the "Emily Rutherford's review" on Google. I am the dad, and therefore Emily's grandpa. I read her review and was so disappointed at what she wrote. She gets her information by FaceTime with her dad and through her mom and sister. Their physical visits are very limited as well. Their communication with husband or dad is mostly on FaceTime. I am sure they think Facetime is the same as physical visits. My son's communication skills are limited. He often gets yes or no questions confused and then becomes frustrated when trying to express himself. Then he ends up agreeing with what is being discussed. 100% of the staff work professionally, with love, compassion, and a caring attitude. They are dedicated to the best care. I am, and always have been, happy with my son's care. He has had no skin breakdown and no other health issues. This is his home and community. I have found, that if anything happens to one resident, word travels fast, and is reported. They take care of and support each other like family. This nursing home must follow state and federal guidelines to protect all residents. As far as the hot water incident being off for a period of time, this was true. It was due to a lightning strike in the parking lot, and it was out of the hands of the administration. This incident affected plumbing and water heaters only in a small portion of the nursing home that included my son's wing. The administration promptly requested the replacement of the damaged plumbing and water heater. The plumbing, supplies, and water heater were submitted to corporate immediately. The plumbing materials, water tanks, and labor had to also be approved, and this took time. Call it "red tape", but the administration worked feverishly every day to get the issue resolved. Showers were accommodated in other areas of the facility. Bedside baths were utilized with warm water for others that were not able to get to those areas. It all worked out and the staff made the best of it, along with the residents. Alot of memories and fun considering this situation, were made in this tightknit community. So, there are always "two sides to every coin" and even though we want to believe everything that is said, that is not always the complete or true picture. I know that Emily wants the best for her dad. Alienating the staff that takes care of her dad day in, and day out, is not her intentions, I am sure. The staff needs to know we support them and are confident in my son's care. They should never be in a position of being afraid to enter my son's room to take excellent care of him. If Emily could see it through physical daily interaction, she would see the love and care that takes place in facility. Sometimes you just want to say "What would Jesus say"? I do not believe he would condone calling a TV Station. The whole picture was not portrayed in Emily's review. God speed.

My wife is now a resident in the memory care unit. I think her care is excellent and the staff is totally dedicated to the residents care. The facility is kept extremely clean with services going on all day and every day.

I've had therapy at a lot of places and this is one of the best I've been to. I always feel better leaving than when I walk in. The staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable about my whole therapy process. I would recommend to anyone.

I am very impressed with the rehab teams compassion and commitment towards the patients at this facility. I have had relatives there and I would recommend this rehab department to anyone looking for a temporary or permanent residence.

I have worked in several long-term care nursing facilities in my professional career, and Logan Care and Rehabilitation is truly one of the very best! What makes this building so special is the director of rehab services, Ms. Serena Malone. Serena is extremely kind, professional, caring, patient, and a strong advocate for her patients. Serena works very hard to maintain an extremely "patient-friendly" environment. The patients who reside at Logan Care and Rehabilitation are so lucky to have such an amazing leader in the therapy department there! Well done! A+

I have seen nothing short of positive strides and compassion from this facility over the last year. Staff and administration that really go above and beyond to care for their residents. While nothing is without flaw, I can honestly say that any concerns or issues you may have they take seriously and immediately look for ways to resolve or improve upon.

I spent a month at Logan Care and Rehabilitation a few years ago. The care was exceptional and my health condition was greatly improved due to my time in the rehab clinic.

I could not have chose more caring or compassionate facility to help me transfer my aunt from home to a nursing home. It was not a easy task but they helped make it happen with ease. They were phenomenal! They have made her feel at home and care for her like she is family.

I can assure you that Logan Health Care has improved during the past few months. I volunteer at the nursing home, visit residents, etc. The majority of the people who work there DO care for the residents. It is so evident. Of course, there are always going to be those few who look at it as just a job, but to most of the employees, I can tell you.....they love the residents. The only reason that I didn't give a 5 star review is the fact that there will always be room for improvement, but the administrator and social service director and others are striving to do their best where the residents are concerned. Also, the patients have a very active and involved ombudsman who looks out for their best interests where care is concerned. I hear so many criticizing this facility and it does upset me because I see the efforts that are being made by the administrator and staff to improve LHCC! Keep up the good work!
