Years ago my family and I had my mom attend the day program at Livewell. It was awesome, especially the music which my mother loved playing the piano there. She also enjoyed the meals. We were met with a wonderful caring staff, learned a lot about caring for someone with dementia, and was able to keep her home. Then two years ago during the pandemic my mom's dementia worsened making it hard to take care of her and keep her at home She was on the waiting list at Livewell and I called them for help. They sent Corrin Campbell to the house for a visit and we were able to plan to transition her into skilled nursing. It was a very stressful time, but they helped us make a move from home to Livewell with the support of Shazia Chaudhry. Now, mom is living in a safe, caring, and professional atmosphere where she feels loved. Linda Desantis

To the caregivers on 1B: Please know how much I appreciate the care you give my husband Larry Barber. He has been there a year, now, and I have seen ONLY patience and understanding of Larry's disease. I wish you could have known him before, but a year ago he would tell me how nice everyone is, how good the food is, and he has not once asked why he can't go home. Thanks to YOU!!! I am so at ease that my mom laure is a resident at live well. Prior to her admission she attended the Alzheimer's program we took her 3 times a week she never had a piano lesson in her life it was amazing how she would sit in front of the piano and play songs and sing. After many frustrating weeks and months searching to find a good support organization for me and my wife. Livewell was recommended by our geriatric doctor at UCONN to help with the struggles with dementia. So we gave them a call and we suddenly had access to professionals with experience in cognitive and dementia issues. We found them to be very knowledgeable and caring. As a care giver I now have a go-to place for help. We are so happy we reached out to these fine people. This organization provides classes, zoom memory cafe meetings, monthly meet ups at various museums, parks, periodic zoom meetings for caregivers and the like. We also were able to work with a terrific occupational therapist who came to our home who helped us make our home memory friendly and safe. They will be opening a beautiful facility in Plantsville that will offer many group classes, therapy, and fun things to do as well as in-house care if needed. We STRONGLY RECOMMEND the folks at LIVEWELL.

I have no doubt that my grandmother, Maria Cutler, received the best care in the year she lived at Live Well. I heard so many incredible stories about her and could tell from the way the staff spoke that that they genuinely care about the residents. The staff and nurses were incredibly kind and empathetic when I stayed with her during her last few days. They truly felt like an extension of our family and for that I will be forever grateful. Glenda, Melody, Melanie, and Shawna all get a special shout out because they really touched me during my visit and I will never forget them.

My mother has been at Livewell for 6 months and we are so grateful for the remarkable care she is receiving. The staff is genuinely caring (especially Basia, Corinne, Charm, and many others) and they have been praised by Mom's physicians for record-keeping, treatment and care. In particular, they have made every effort to accommodate the things that help Mom feel she has some decision-making and everyone treats her with dignity and respect. I highly recommend Livewell!!

My mom was at Livewell in Plantsville for about 4 months before she passed. The care and attention she received was much higher than what I expected. I expected they would keep her safe, but they kept her safe and made her feel like she was at home. They made an amazing effort to make mom feel welcome. Greeting her with a hug, applying lipstick, etc - many things that really made Mom happy to be there. The week before she passed she had her hair done from the onsite stylist, which made her so happy. Dad visited mom every day, and he couldn't believe how nice the staff were - he really misses them as well, and was really touched by their dedication and care of mom

This is Diane's husband Mike posting the review. We worked with LiveWell's home-based therapy program for 10 weeks to help us figure out how to navigate the stressful, and often unbearable, manifestations of Diane's Alzheimer's. The therapist understood far more about what was happening than anyone else who had tried to help us - I thought of her like the "Alzheimer's whisperer". She validated without patronizing or stereotyping. Together we came up with some strategies that really made a difference at a crucial time for us.

We moved my elderly Mother to LiveWell in 2019, one week before our daughter's wedding! Talk about stressful! My husband and I were already familiar with moving my Mom several times during the course of her cognitive decline that I was totally confident in leaving CT just days before the wedding, while LiveWell admitted my Mom into their care without me present. Everything went perfectly! I am so relieved that my Mom is at LiveWell that should she have a fall, need medical care or adjustments to medications, she will be looked after in house. That way I don't have to make arrangements with a doctor off site. And now in 2020 with COVID-19, LiveWell continues to be THE ONLY SNF IN CT that is STILL COVID FREE. Yes, it's been hard for all of us, but the staff at LiveWell continues to go above and beyond in order for their residents to remain COVID FREE. I don't know what I would have done if she lived elsewhere while COVID-19 illnesses and deaths were so prevalent in the general public. And finally, I want to add that LiveWell communicates any changes with me concerning my Mom or COVID so I'm not left in the dark with worry. So I highly recommend LiveWell to anyone searching for a SNF for their loved one(s), that cares specifically for those suffering with cognitive decline in any form.

I can't even begin to explain the support I have received from the daughters support group. Irena Delahunty is a compassionate, loving and knowledgeable person. She and the group members have been an integral part of alleviating the pain of this bittersweet journey. She gives us a different perspective while supporting us in a gentle manner.
