My mother-in-law was first in the short-term rehabilitation center and worked hard with the physical therapist and occupational therapist to regain strength. Then, she entered the long-term skilled nursing facility when her health declined following a stroke. Our family was so grateful that she could be given such excellent care right here in our Greenwich community. We visited her each weekend and held fun parties in the chapel room for special occasions. The grandchildren and great grandchildren lit up her day with visits and photographs. She thoroughly enjoyed all the wonderful programs offered at The Nathaniel Witherell — family barbecues, ice cream truck days, musical concerts, arts projects and especially bingo! The staff was extraordinary with the attention they paid her and the care they gave her. She had been a third grade teacher in Greenwich and called a head nurse "the principal." He loved that and responded with warmth and good cheer. A team of staff members (usually a nurse, social worker, recreation director, and nutritionist) would gather for a periodic care meeting with family members and report on her medical condition, any changes they observed, and note the types of activities she was drawn to during that period. We always felt communications was a two-way street with the goal to keep her happy and healthy. We so appreciate the Staff and all the support given to the matriarch of our family. Thank you for caring for our family member with such love and kindness.

Over the years, many family members & friends have spent their final years at Nathaniel Witherell, well-served by the dedicated staff & comforted by a community of patients they have known all their lives. Such a facility, owned by & serving the community, is a treasure.

We have had many family members stay at Nathaniel Witherell and are happy that they were able to live out their final days close to family . The staff was professional and we were happy with the care rendered. We all know how hard it is to find a place for our loved ones as they age but this facility is a local home which much be preserved.

My mother was recently admitted to NWNH after a hip replacement She had a great experience. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. Her accommodations were comfortable She enjoyed the meals. Within a week, physical therapy had her walking independently. Overall a great experience. Highly recommend

My mother was a resident for 8 years. The staff was caring and for the most part did their best. Food is good, recreational activities endless, spiritual support via caring ministries. Building was remodeled recently.
