I was already impressed with the high standards of this community, but after spending more time here supporting my folks during a health crisis, I am even more amazed at the caliber of service and the caring culture. I especially want to give my personal appreciation to James in transportation, Yvonne in Lowrys and Jennifer in Emilie cafe for their kindness and being such a blessing to our family.

The friendships I’ve formed here are deeply meaningful, and the personal growth has enriched my life in ways I never expected. The facilities are always well-maintained and welcoming. The staff consistently go above and beyond to provide exceptional service, making this community feel like home. I’m truly grateful to be part of such a vibrant and caring environment!

I always enjoy visiting my older friends at Still Hopes.
July 2025
We had many choices available when considering moving to a retirement community. Still Hopes stood out because of its excellent amenities, beautiful campus and facilities, and we were happy to leave behind all worries about home repairs and maintenance. Since moving here, we are appreciative of the kind and caring staff, their professionalism and their willingness to go the extra mile to meet our needs. We enjoy the social and educational opportunities and the strong sense of community that has made this place feel like home. We’re here to stay!

Many of my acquaintances have spent time at Still Hopes in various stages of life, from independent living to end-of-life nursing and hospice care. Many still live there, at this time mostly in apartments and cottages. Their experiences have been universally good. Those in independent living appreciate (d) the many available physical, cultural, hobbyist, entertainment activities; the musicians especially appreciated the on-site concerts and the transportation to local music and theater events. Some of these folks are busier than I am! Those with more care needs were very ably cared for, and with kindness, and attentiveness. The staff are universally friendly and competent. I can't say enough good things about Still Hopes.

Friendly, caring staff. Lots of activities.
July 2025
My wife and I moved to Still Hopes a little over four years ago. We did that because of her health condition. She is in the last stage of Alzheimer’s and we wanted access to some of the facilities that are available here, including the memory care and rehab and skilled nursing While we haven’t needed those actual facilities since we’ve been here we are glad that they are here and we are discovering what a treat it is to be part of a community. Neither of us has ever lived in a community like this, but it’s very supportive and that support from both residents and staff has had a tremendous impact on our lives during those four years. My wife suffered a stroke a year after we were here - one of the benefits in that particular situation is that our doctor is right here at Still Hopes. I just put in a telephone call and he walked right over to our apartment immediately and took care of that very very quickly. Not only do we have the services - It’s just the friendliness of the people, the concern and interest of other residents and staff. My wife has become something of a little celebrity around here and she smiles a lot. She has aphasia so she doesn’t say much when she doe - It’s usually gibberish and you can’t understand most of what she says. Nevertheless residents and staff speak to her every day and we come out for ice cream at one of the eating venues (of six) and then we’re at dinner at 4:30 and those become social occasions for us . I can tell you honestly that over the past two years, she has actually improved as a result of the attention that she receives. She is much much better. This doesn’t cure the Alzheimer’s, but it makes living with Alzheimer’s a joy. There are other things that I like here that relate to what I’ve already said in terms of social connections. When we were thinking about coming here, we never really thought about the impact that the people would make on our lives and we’ve discovered that that’s the most significant part of being here. Of course we have plenty of things to d; the life engagement department here as carefully arranged, and they work so hard to find out all of the things we like and need to know about so we have programs that relate to health, but we have some many musical events. Each holiday is celebrated in multiple ways. I love the fact that they call that department life engagement instead of having an events coordinator and events department because it truly is an effort to get us engaged in life and for us to be able to live This has been a great place for us. Much better than I ever would’ve even guessed.

Still Hopes is a wonderful place to call home. It has provided wonderful experiences for my husband Nelson and for me. Nelson enjoyed so many exciting experiences in Columbia even though he was in a skilled unit. As for me, I have enjoyed new experiences each week. The staff is excellent.

I have lived at still hopes for 11 and 1/2 years and have enjoyed it immensely I was particularly appreciate having the on-site rehab available to use when I have had problems thank you
July 2025
We have lived at Still Hopes for 4 1/2 years and absolutely love it. Our apartment with a balcony is spacious and opens to our building’s beautifully landscaped courtyard. Our favorite experience is the multiple dining venues from more formal to bistro to coffee shops, and of course the full bar pub. Our wine list will rival most restaurants in Columbia. Also, having access to all levels of care plus being only 4 miles from Lexington hospital is a major plus. Of course we can’t omit the awesome wellness center with the 3 full time attendants and the 90 deg F swimming and lap pool.

I love our knitting group. Over several years, the group has made and donated over 800 blankets to various charities!

My dad enjoys all aspects of Still hopes the fellowship, the camaraderie with other residents, the convenience of being able to live independently, but also go to lunch and dinner and breakfast and all of the various different activities that Still Hopes provides. And most importantly is how friendly and supportive the Still Hopes staff is. They are always kind, gracious and make my Dad feel special!

I like being the Altar Guild chairman and the work that I can do. and I enjoy all of the friends that I've made here in the 9 years that I've been here.I wouldn't live anywhere else.
July 2025
To be closer to our daughter’s family, my husband and I made the decision to sell our home in another state and relocate to a new life at Still Hopes. He was sold from our first visit to the community, I was less enthusiastic, but I trusted it was going to be the right move. . I had no idea how soon I would be grateful for that decision. With our move in date set for September 2024, Bill suddenly got sick on Labor Day and died. 5 days later. I arrived at Still Hopes the evening after his memorial service in NC. As I had been assured by Amanda, my wonderful staff contact, I was welcomed with the space and grace to begin my healing journey. I’m grateful every day that I’m where Bill would have enjoyed living He was excited that we would have so many food venues, activities and the Wellness Center! It’s only been 9 months, but I readily acknowledge that I’m where I’m supposed to be and blessed to be a part of this friendly, caring family of residents and staff.

I have been away from Still Hopes for one month. . I returned yesterday and I found a wonderfully clean apartment. If I needed anything like maintenance or my TV not working maintenance came right away to help. There were the restaurants that I could just go and eat in with a choice of wonderful food. I did not have to go to the grocery store and start cooking. I saw all the people I knew wirh friends welcoming me. What more could I ask? It is a wonderful wonderful place to be.

Still Hopes has been my home for 4 years and I cannot imagine living anywhere else. The residents are warm, accomplished, and friendly. The staff is so attentive and friendly to all of us and the facilities are excellent. Still Hopes is the best.

Great place to live or retire
July 2025
i Have lived at Still Hopes for close to four years and have found this community to be excellent in every aspect. We worship here is our Chapel of the Holy Spirit with full time Chaplin Doug Gray, We eat delicious meals with our neighbors and family guest in the formal and casual dining areas. The Health Center has a complete set of exercise and aerobic equipment as well as an indoor pool for classes and therapy. There are three certified and degreed trainers for daily classes and personal training. The wooded on campus trail allows casual walks around the pond. The staff here is committed to the residents and we have a family relationship with everyone. Life is good at Still Hopes. In addition, the Columbia area is great for offering all of the cultural and educational opportunities for residents. In fact, the Still Hopes location is within 2 miles of the airport, major hospitals and University.

I can’t say enough good things about Still Hopes Sanders Rehab! They have been a blessing to our family. My 94 year old grandmother was here 6 years ago for a broken femur and made miraculous recovery. She was here this time with multiple sacral fractures and pelvic fractures after a fall. We didn’t think she would walk again. She is walking! They take absolutely excellent care of her and she loves it there. We are prayerful she can stay at Still Hopes permanently. Thank you to this wonderful establishment. Every single person that is part of her care team goes way above and beyond! They truly care about their patients and want to reach their goals!

My mother was in rehab at Still Hopes a few years ago which greatly influenced our decision to choose their assisted living apartments when she could no longer stay in her home. She had a beautiful apartment, but that is about the only good thing I can say about the year she was there. The majority of the CNAs who work there were truly concerned with helping my mother as much as they could. That being said, it was a constant battle over what they were "allowed" to do. I was constantly being told "we're not allowed to do that" or "you have to have orders for us to do that". I can understand the need to adhere to regulations but there was almost never any willingness to help resolve the issue. I was left with trying to find solutions that fit within their guidelines. Still Hopes has a sizable entry fee which we were told would mean that as her needs increased, they would have a place for her in the medical units. Mid-May my mom's issues with some foot lesions worsened and I got a call that 1) she could no longer stay in assisted living 2) she had to move within 14 days 3) there was not a room for her at Still Hopes. This call was from the head of nursing whom I have found to be the lest helpful health care worker I have even dealt with. On more than one occasion I have either cut short a conversation with her or not answered her call because of her rudeness. I did pass along my complaints to management. The last I heard, this nurse was given a promotion. And that says tons about the corporate/management culture of Greenway at Still Hopes. I realize that there are a finite number of skilled nursing beds available and, perhaps it was unfortunate timing for my mom, but there was no offer of any help in trying to figure out a solution for my mother. All I heard were crickets. Additionally, the year my mother was there, she constantly complained about the food - no seasonings, small portions, lukewarm, etc. I know from emails I received from Still Hopes that they have a severe problem in food service staffing. So it seems the residents end up getting the bad end of that situation. In summary - please don't waste thousands of dollars on this place. It is pretty, but you can find much better help elsewhere for a lot less money.

A lovely campus...assisted living areas are beautiful, clean, and...GREAT, if you have unlimited funds. I paid for my mother to live here in assisted living for 7 years. All was fine until she needed more than mere supervised medication. Then she fell, and, although she didn't break anything, she was unable to get to the toilet by herself. The "Assisted" Living staff put her flat in bed with a diaper for 5 days; she developed a UTI and pneumonia. She had to be hospitalized, and when she was discharged from the hospital, she lasted only a week in rehab before Still Hopes wanted to move her to skilled nursing (currently, $9,900/mo.). My brother and I were not adequately prepared for addressing our mother's needs; Still Hopes' last-minute discharge snafus and rush to get her gone was a sad end to what for years had been a nice place for our mother to live.

Moving to Still Hopes is one of the very best decisions that Nela and I ever made. It is a wonderful, caring community. There're many things to do here, but we still keep up with our own activities off campus.

We moved to Still Hopes in April 2019. We enjoy our apartment and many amenities like bingo, movies and very good and nutritious meals. Until Covid 19, there were frequent musical and other events to enjoy as well. And there was the pleasure of shared meals in the Palmetto Room or the Bistro.Since Covid 19, we have been grateful for the security from possible infection afforded by Still Hopes regimens and for innovative ways to interact with other residents.

My husband and I love living at Still Hopes. We feel at home with the other residents and our caring staff, and together we create a real family atmosphere. We are in our ninth year here, and we are offered many activities and exercise programs. The facility Is both pretty and clean, and the grounds are beautiful. Moreover, we have felt we are in a safe place during Covid-19. We also are well-fed with delicious food and are offered a number of entertaining options, now all of them within the safety regulations of the pandemic. For us it is like living in a resort!

My husband and I have lived here over four years and it is the best decision we have ever made! Instantly it felt like "home" to us!! The Culinary department works hard to prepare and serve delicious meal. Every employee throughout, is helpful and strive to make our daily lives happy and content. We could not find a better place to spend our Senior years. We've met and made some wonderful new friends and enjoyed a variety of activities. We highly recommend Still Hopes to all!!! It's been a blessing to live here C. J. Murphy

As a resident of Still Hopes I believe I can speak with first hand knowledge about many services offered here. My husband and I chose to live here after closely examining other facilities in this area. We are happy with our decision and recommend Still Hopes to others. The management and staff are here for us and go out of their way to enrich our living experience. We both have the attitude that if we want to feel welcome and a part of the life here then we try to be friendly to everyone we meet daily. A kind word and a smile to everyone go a long way and are always returned. We have truly never met a mean or cranky employee. Our living space is comfortable and clean. The dining venues offer a wide selection of foods and the foods cooked to order are rarely other than expected. Food is fresh and tasty and served in a timely manner by friendly and competent wait staff. We are enjoying independence from owning and maintaining a house and we look forward to the care Still Hopes offers as we age into assisted living. Life and living is what you make it. You are the one who chooses to be happy or miserable and you can influence others to be that way too.

An amazing daycare service. Nice helpful employees.

This is a wonderful community. the staff is friendly and courteous and it is such a pleasure to see how the residents of this community are so active. The wellness center is simply magnificent and has won a National Award for Innovation. The dining here is also spectacular and has several choices for venues. You can dine in the Palmetto room with more of a fine atmosphere or enjoy meals at the Bistro for a relaxed in/outdoor dining experience. They also have a coffee shop on site which is a great place to gather and chat. I would highly recommend looking into this community.
October 2017
I have been involved with many people who have moved to Still Hopes and had a mother there and have an aunt lives there now. I think the facilities are beautiful and the staff is friendly. The activities are really fun and there is a wide assortment of them.
September 2017
This is a beautiful community with lots of wonderful residents with incredible stories. The employees are lovely, often going above and beyond to meet the needs and desires of residents. My parents are residents in Independent Living and are able to pursue their interests knowing that housekeeping, yard work, maintenance, and at least one meal per day are taken care of. They were fine living at home, but being at Still Hopes takes away the stress of home ownership for them, and for the rest of the family!
