My Mom is so happy at Manor House! It was a BIG decision to sell her home and move to Seaford from the Rehoboth area where she'd lived for the last 20+ years, but as soon as she arrived, she knew it was home. Everything she needs is right there for her. She loves the home-cooked meals, exercise classes, social activities, religious services, on-site thrift shop, and beautiful campus. And her neighbors are the most wonderful people. She describes them as "family." My brother and I have great peace of mind with the care she receives from the incredible staff. Shortly after her move in to a lovely independent living apartment, she had a medical emergency and spent a week at the hospital next door. When she returned, a spot in skilled nursing awaited her for recovery and rehab. Then she moved into assisted living, where she has remained for the last few years. The continuum of care has offered her security, stability, and great flexibility as her needs change. And we have been so happy with her care at every step along the journey. Her only regret is waiting so long to make the move!

My heartwarming impression of the Manor House started with all of the events that I attended before ever moving into this wonderful community. As we approached our move-in date, we had meetings with many staff members to review numerous details regarding financial commitments, selecting paint colors, flooring, cabinets and any upgrades we might have wanted. These staff members were extremely informative, patient and had our best interests at heart. On December 20, 2024 we finally moved into our new home. A photo of my husband and me was shown on the local in-house TV station welcoming us to the Manor House family. From that point on, we were welcomed and made to feel like we were at one big family reunion. Every single day, is a reminder that we made the best decision and solid investment in our future by moving to the Manor House.

Deciding to come to Manor House was the best decision my wife and I ever made. We were first introduced to the concept of a CCRC (Continuing Care Retirement Community) in January of 2016. During the rest of the year, we visited over a half dozen CCRCs in Delaware and on both sides of the Bay Bridge in Maryland. We found Manor House to be the friendliest, and we were impressed when we toured the skilled nursing and the memory care areas. We were not planning to move into Manor House for another 3 to 5 years. However, during the same year, our good friends went to live with their son and daughter-in-law for six months when the wife had a medical condition that required her to remain in bed and the husband had Alzheimer’s. This caused us to change our minds, and we have now lived at Manor House for 8 and a half years and have found the support more than we expected. Such as the time I was out of town and my wife fell and needed assistance, she pressed her emergency pendant and the response was immediate, the first person arrived within a minute and a half, medical personnel arrived a short time later, she was taken to the ER, and I was notified of the accident. Someone from Manor House remained with her in the ER until I returned later that day. During another medical situation, my wife had a place for rehabilitation in the skilled nursing area after knee replacement surgery, with onsite Physical Therapy 5 days a week. We are happy we came to Manor House; our fellow residents and the staff are friendly, and the staff are always ready to help. It is a wonderful place to live, and I don’t have to mow the lawn or shovel snow in the winter. rwk

I've been at Manor House for almost 5 months and have adopted the phrase "This is my Happy Place" as it tells the story for me. It took me months to decide, not unusual, and then lots of emotional and physical efforts to make the move, but with the help of a very supportive family and great flexibility from Manor House, I made it. I love my 'tiny' but totally perfect apartment, the many activities, a very loving and available staff, the grounds, the food, and the residents who are quickly becoming my other family. The icing on the cake is the availability of a caring and knowledgeable medical staff. I am blessed!

I have lived at the Manor House for 9 months after waiting for 3 years for an apartment. It has been the best decision I have ever made since my husband passed 5 years ago. The residents and employees are very friendly. I have met many friends and go to activities and functions with them. I love my apartment, and my Pomeranian is very happy as well. I can go and come whenever I want. I feel safe and know that if I become ill there is always someone to help. I encourage anyone married or single to come and check out our homes and get on the waiting list you won't regret your decision.

We are residents at the Manor House and we go to the Riverview Dining Room each evening for our dinner. The entire Culinary staff, Gerry, Chef Miguel, Angela and everyone that contributes in making our experience a pleasant evening. They offer a special menu with many different and delicious items, of course sometimes I am sort of a picky eater and have a few allergies, but with one of the special menus, the nightly menus that changes periodically, and always available menu, we can find something that meets our needs. We start with wonderful appetizers, entrees, sides, and most importantly, desserts. Our servers, some are youthful, but they do an excellent job and always take care of our needs. They also have special menus for every holiday. We feel very fortunate and are delighted to receive the special attention and kindness that our Culinary staff provides us.

Does anyone here remember a nurse by the name of John, I think his last name was somethung like John Kline, this was in the late 90's. He took good care of some friends back then. I wonder if he is still working here or even alive. I wanted to go see him and say thank you in person for all he did.

My husband and I moved to Manor House as independent residents 3 1/2 years ago. We have a lovely cottage and are very happy with Manor House. There are a wide range of services and activities to meet our interests and needs. We take part in several fitness programs and enjoy the heated, indoor pool. We also take part in several of the activities and enjoy the trips. While we still drive, it is nice to go with the group and let someone else do the driving. I enjoy gardening and raising a few tomatoes, but I'm happy to have someone else do the mowing and put down the mulch and other heavy work. We have developed many friendships and find there are lots of opportunities to socialize. While we are independent, it is nice to know that when we need assistance, it will be readily available. We know residents who have used the health center and have visited them there. It is obvious that they are receiving great care. My husband says his only regret is that we didn't move here sooner.

Choosing a final home for the rest of one's life can be challenging; how does one make such a decision on such fragile information? It is important to listen to the residents of an individual community and observe their level of comfort and openness. It is important to mix with residents at events and see their reaction to your questions. At Manor House it is easy to see happiness and confidence in their life style as you meet residents. The ambiance of security, satisfaction and family greets one upon entering the front door. That is not fake welcome; it is genuine happiness. It is one thing to read statistics provided about corporate level performance. It is clearly different to feel the welcome of a specific community member of the corporation. Manor House has its own unique sense of community. Residents are friends; management is compassionate; employees are friends of the residents. We are family. We love where we live.

I have lived at Manor House for six years. I feel physically and financially safe. There are more activities that I can possibly participate in. The medical staff is usually available to see me the same day I make the request. My decision to move to Manor House was definitely the right one.
