Heritage Assisted Living is a caring environment for my father in law. I see the same nurses there each week and I love the attention we all receive.

My experience with Heritage Crossings began in the '80s when I had two grandmothers residing at the facility. It was a clean, well cared for facility and an integral part of the Geneva community. My mother moved into Assisted Living from Cheyenne WY in 2009. There had been a considerable amount of staff turner over in the Assisted Living Coordinators position. But overall my mother had good care, enjoyed the good meals, and thrived getting to know the community of residents in Assisted Living. She passed away in Sept 2011 from a highly infectious disease . Due to lack of leadership in the entire facility, I didn't feel like the whole situation was handled well. Since that time I have become POA for a 105 y/o friend who resides in the nursing home. Her body is frail but her mind is excellent. Especially since CoVid, her life has been miserable. Some of the circumstances revolve around CoVid, others from her unmet expectations of what the care should be but mostly from the lack of leadership and lack of proper care and attention. Heritage Crossings is owned and operated by Vetter Senior Living with the home office in Elkhorn NE. They have established their own pharmacy that delivers to their 30+ facilities in a five state areas. Residents at Heritage Crossings in Geneva (or any of their other facilities) are NOT allowed to have their prescriptions filled by their own home town pharmacy. This has not created a sense of Good Will in the community. As well as becoming a "non-profit" enterprise a couple of years ago which took away $50,000+ yearly revenue from the city of Geneva. This is not what Jack Vetter envisioned when he purchased his first nursing home in 1975. He grew up in a small NE community and wants to see those small towns and rural NE thrive. Unless you are considering an Assisted Living facility or Independent Living, I would look elsewhere for nursing home care.
