We learned that the kindness, dignity and personal attention of the staff are what transform a residence into a true home. When looking for the right place for my father-in-law, John Martinez, our priority wasn't simply finding a comfortable residence, it was finding a place where he would be treated with the dignity, respect, kindness and compassion he had earned over a lifetime. Sunrise of Oakville exceeded every expectation we had. Every member of the staff made John feel valued, cared for and genuinely known as an individual. When the decision was made to move my mom to a retirement home, I dove into the search full force. My sister and I toured at least 8 facilities, asked many questions, read reviews, etc. When we first met with Kristen at Sunrise Oakville, we knew this place was really something special. What it lacked in the new modern bells and whistles(pool, theatre, etc), it made up tenfold in the people that work here. Absolutely everyone has been incredible. Danielle, in particular made me feel so confident that this was the right place for my mom. She truly cares deeply for all the residents and her staff, and is such a genuine person as is everyone. Many of the care staff have been with sunrise for 10, 15 years which says so much. The residents are assigned regular caregivers who get to know them and they become comfortable with them. My mom moved in October 1, and has settled in so much better than I expected! One of her main caregivers is Anna, who has been there for 15 years. She is a beautiful, kind, genuine soul who is a godsend for my mom. We feel so lucky to have her. Everyone else goes above and beyond as well. There is live music every week and when I was sitting with my mom during a concert I couldn’t help but notice the staff rubbing the shoulders of residents, dancing with them, showing so much care. This truly is a family. My mom was resistant for years to leaving her home but she said to me in the first week, this has been really easy for me. I can’t express how happy I am that we chose Sunrise. My stress has been lifted so much as I know how well cared for my mom is, and at the end of the day, that is the most important aspect of any care facility, the care. A gigantic thank you from the bottom of my heart for everyone at Sunrise for welcoming my mom with open arms. If you are looking for a care home for a loved one, please know that this is by far the best place we could have ever hoped for.

I have had the pleasure of visiting Residents at Sunrise Retirement/Oakville over many years.First, with our group from St. Andrew's and now to see friends who are there. It is ALWAYS a pleasant experience for me. The staff is open and friendly, always ready to help. The atmosphere is fun and all inclusive. The food is well prepared and varied. The entertainment is top notch! I have visited with my dogs when I could and they are welcomed with open arms by residents and staff alike. I have only great things to say about Sunrise!™™

Our mother moved into Sunrise of Oakville in April 2025. Since then her health has improved dramatically and this we attribute to the excellent care and attention she has been receiving. My siblings and I find great comfort knowing that she is being well cared for and safe. The staff are warm, friendly and helpful. We couldn't be happier with our decision to make Sunrise of Oakville our mum's new home.

Our family member has been at this retirement home for over 5 years and it really feels like a community rather than a facility. The staff are ALL so wonderful and caring. From the initial greeting from Kelly and her team at the front desk, Whitnie the resident care director, Bailey providing pictures and updates through the Smile App, DJ and kitchen staff ensuring they are serving up delicious day to day and special celebration meals, Danielle the Assisted Living Coordinator always energetic, smiling, motivating the care staff and keeping families engaged in the care plan - the whole staff team are amazing. The day to day care staff are wonderfully consistent, which creates a sense of familiarity and trust for residents and families alike - a special shout out to Josephine who has a magical way of calming our family member and can be heard singing songs together during the day to day routines. Every team member shows genuine care, warmth and kindness in the way they interact with the residents each day! It is clear that the staff care about the wellbeing, dignity and happiness of everyone in their community. I highly recommend Sunrise to anyone seeking a loving, supportive and vibrant environment for their loved ones.

I visited Sunrise of Oakville for the first time today to see a family friend, and I was really impressed. The place had such a warm, welcoming vibe the second I walked in. The staff were super friendly and easy to talk to ” you can tell they actually care about the residents, not just because it’s their job. My friend seemed really comfortable and happy there, which was great to see. The common areas were bright and lively, and the whole place just had a relaxed, positive atmosphere. For my first visit, it honestly left a great impression. Sunrise of Oakville feels like a place where people are treated with real kindness and respect. I’m glad my friend is in such good hands.

I have a patient transport company and I work with Sunrise frequently. Because of my work I have the ability to see all the local retirement and long-term care homes up close. Sunrise is definitely the best retirement home I have seen. I frequently discharge people from hospital who are coming in for either respite stays or permanent move-in, and the amazing way they are treated by the staff is truly heartwarming. They are like angels who swoop in when you need them the mostand I have nothing but the highest respect for the staff at this amazing home. If you’re thinking about moving in or where to put your parents, I highly recommend this Sunrise!

My mother moved into Sunrise at the end of April and I cannot express how amazing the experience has been. From the moment I began looking into Sunrise I could tell there was something beyond the attentive care and interest in the residents. This place is very special and feels like a home. I visit several times a week and everytime it feels like walking into someones home....there is a livelyness and happy energy....there are activities throughout the day...residents are encouraged to participate and take part in. Daily physio, weekly musical guests, walks outside, cooking demonstrations with the chef, bingo and more... there was even a dog rescue fundraising garden party this summer ! My mother has designated care givers who are so attentive and loving and take care of all her needs with grace and dignity. All medical issues are taken care of quickly and with care. I should also mention that all dentist, eye, personal grooming visits are done in house. Its been such a huge relief for our family to have our mom in a place that also feels like family. I am so grateful to each and every person involved at Sunrise for making this a beautiful place for my mom to live!

Our Mom Lidia was transferred to Sunrise Oakville from the hospital and the staff treated her with excellent care. Whenever she had an incident of any kind, they were always communicating with me, keeping me up to date. My Mom enjoyed the facilities and the Staff.I would have no issues sending your loved ones to this home.

Amazing facility. Mom could not be better cared for. The dedication, care, compassion and respect from every member of the staff is impressive. A complete care facility with medical staff on site, a wide range of daily activities for physical and mental well-being, a variety of wonderful entertainment.....like musical evenings where they will grab Mom and wheel her around in a "jig" in her wheelchair. A wide and impressive variety of nutritious and tasty food. Special lunches/buffets/holiday celebratory meals are frequent, varied and creative. The staff have a collaborative approach to care, seeking input from all sources, and welcome and encourage family input and involvement. Our experience with all staff, including the concierges, is that they are there to help, are willing to pitch in wherever there is a need, and nothing is too much trouble. It's most impressive, and quite refreshing. There is constant, ongoing involvement by senior staff in all aspects of life at Sunrise, and they have their finger on the pulse of the everyday life of each and every resident. Basically, there is a "culture" in this facility that transcends description......it's a feel, and the best way to describe it is that they truly.....really and truly......"walk the talk".

Visited this long term heath care Facility and from the moment you walk in it is clean. There is no odor . Staff is friendly and all of the residence look well taken care of. The Nursing staff is kind and caring as well as the management of this facility is impeccable you can tell they al really care for the residents here. Not your typical retirement facility. Feels like family thank you

Sunrise Oakville is absolutely the best possible option for senior living in the area! Their staff and the care they take of their residents is just like they are family, and the community that they’ve formed to give everyone a sense of belonging and fun is incomparable. My husband has been in Sunrise - Oakville for about a 1 1/2 years. During this time he has also had some hospital stays. Sunrise has been the best for him to get back to living. A member of the staff mentioned, after one of his long hospital stays, that the hospital broke him and that Sunrise would fix him. Well they did and continue to do so. This was one of the best choices we have made.

I visited my aunt at Sunrise last week and was so pleased with the care and support she received. The staff seemed warm and friendly, I was visiting during the entertainment hour and staff members were singing and dancing with residents.

I can't say enough good things about Sunrise. My parents moved in about 18 months ago and have both since passed away. I was so grateful I knew they were getting the care they needed during the Pandemic. PSWs were very caring. Flowers would just show up to brighten my parents' room. They would always let me know in advance when my parents were running out of supplies. They were able to provide both my parents with end of life care so that they did not die alone in hospital. During the entire pandemic there was only 1 "outbreak" which in their case was 1-2 workers with positive tests. They kept all the residents safe and healthy. I think the staffing ratio is just more reasonable than a lot of places so everyone isn't rushed off their feet and therefore have time to sanitize etc... When residents couldn't leave their rooms the staff went visiting with activities. The wellness team (Danielle and Whitney) couldn't have been more helpful. Danielle in particular didn't just do "her job" but would help with what ever needed doing.

My mother has been at Sunrise of Oakville for 3 years, residing on the memory floor. I have been very happy with the attention to care and dedication of the staff to the residents. The staff are long term employees who are always pleasant and go out of their way to make mom comfortable and safe. Residents are engaged in daily activities and provided with a homelike and inviting surrounding.

I can sleep at night knowing that she is loved and cared for especially at this time during covid when it is more difficult to see her. After 15 years with Alzheimers and being cared for at home, Mom had such a rapid decline that the CCAC had not yet approved her for the crisis list, but we had to find somewhere fast as it had suddenly become too dangerous to keep her at home any longer. Sunrise in Oakville was that beacon of light in the darkness! Within a few short days Mom was safe and secure on their 'Memory Care' floor. That was only the beginning though of the care, concern and professionalism shown by the management and staff. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone at this wonderful place, but especially to Bas Eldajani, Executive Director and to Andrea Simmill, Reminiscence Coordinator and all of the amazing staff on the 4th floor. Their dedication and compassion, visible every day, was truly remarkable and we will always remember their kindness.
