Nursing staff is very low rating. Very little nurses that work there full time. Hire out nurses that don't have any idea what they are doing. Late meds, etc. I looked up their rating with the state of Ohio and rating is very low Late on inspections for the state of Ohio. No counselors. No transportation, no outings.

My aunt recently needed to be placed in a facility. Melissa in admissions was so wonderful to arrange this placement at Hawthorn Glen quickly and seamlessly. The assigned room was great and the staff caring and considerate. Thank you!!

When it became obvious that my father could no longer live alone I had no idea what the process would be for finding a facility with a memory care unit he could move to. It turned out to be a daunting task until I called Hawthorn Glen. The staff there made the process understandable and seemed to just want what was best for dad. My family has been completely satisfied with the care he received during this extremely hard time of COVID separation from him. We will always be thankful for the staff making his life better and safer and giving us the peace of mind of knowing that people who cared about him were taking care of him in his final days. I recommend this facility whole heartedly to anyone looking for a caring place for a family member.

Dad entered care there after a stroke. Full care and confused. Brought him home yesterday! He is able to walk with a walker, feed himself and communicate normally all thanks to the wonderful staff of therapists and nurses. They took great effort to keep us updated despite the COVID restrictions. This is a great facility and great staff

My mom has been here for 3 years. I've read some of the other reviews. These are disgruntled employees. They do not speak for family who have loved ones at Hawthorn Glen. My rating is pertaining to the care my mother has been given. Mom is happy here. She is well loved and taken care of by solid staff, who have compassion and are skilled to do their jobs. The facility is clean and effectively equipped. Prior to covid-19, I was randomly in and out of hawthorn glen. I am a social worker. My trade gives me a unique perspective, as I am trained to be perceptive and able to gauge, qualitatively, human interaction. Have I had a few concerns? Yes. But each and every one has been met with openness and a willingness to address the problems. A few of the employees are nothing short of saints, seriously dedicated and capable in their work I commend each one for who they are and what they do at Hawthorn Glen. Finally, During covid-19, I have been pleased to see how well the facility has managed this crisis.

My family had a great experience today with outside visitation. They felt safe. Everyone was seated in shade with distance. This 1st outside visitation was very organized and communication with the staff was great. Please continue to offer this visiting option!

About 3 years ago, I searched relentlessly for a place for my Dad. From the moment I pulled into the parking lot and walked into the lobby, I knew I had found the place. While no one wants to have to choose a facility for their loved one, sometimes we just don't have a choice. Dad recently passed away due to several complications one being congestive heart failure. I want to leave a real review for others looking for a good place for their loved one. The entire staff over the years have been nothing short of amazing. I witnessed several times over the years their care of other residents as well so this isn't "just" about my Dad. I am frankly surprised by former reviews of this facility by disgruntled workers etc....Dad was always clean, well fed and quite content. Friends and Family who visited were always impressed by the cleanliness and welcoming decor. There are a lot of social activities for residents both in and out of the facility. The compassion and care of both nurses and aides to my Dad was astounding. There is turnover of staff here as are most nursing home facilities. There is ALWAYS a need for more staff at every facility and until that is changed at the State level, that will always be a negative. This facility listens, cares and does their job well. Go in and take a tour. Usually only people that are mad take time to leave a review out of anger. The current rating does not reflect what a wonderful place this is. My mother has already said this is where she wants to go if she ever needs a nursing home facility. Trust me, I pounded a lot of pavement looking for a good place for Dad and well, I would not have left my dog in most of the places i checked out. At times, anytime a concern came up, i followed the proper channels to address with Management and a solution was found quickly. Please, do yourself and your loved one a favor and go check this place out.

I have personally worked at Hawthorn Glen for going on 4 years total. I even left and decided to come back because I enjoyed the environment and residents so much. There is not one nursing facility that is perfect we all have our flaws and our bad days and sometimes filter through bad staff but we always work the kinks out and move forward. I have been a housekeeper out working on the floor, a receptionist, and now the billing manager and I would put my family member here anytime because I trust these staff to do their jobs and get stuff done. I would not work here still if things were as bad as people make them out to be. If you have a problem let us know and we will do our best to fix the issue or get a process started to fix the problem. Yes the starting out pay isn't the greatest but you have to earn that money it will not just be handed to you.

Nursing Home administrator was very rude and threatening. I run a funeral home and could not get the information I needed to help a family. I deal with a lot of nursing homes but have never encountered anyone who was so rude and uncooperative. I feel sorry for the families that have to interact with such people. I am changing my rating due to the action and concern for this situation by the Chief Operating Officer. My situation was resolved and the appropriate acknowledgement has been issued. I appreciate the follow up and know that this will not happen in the future.

I have applied here three times for STNA work. I've begun to feel that they are prejudice against men. I couldn't get past my second interview with their male administrator. And I don't interview poorly. With my experience it should have been a no brainer to give me a try. They just don't seem to want male caregivers. They just extend the initial interview to keep up appearances. Their loss.
