Our loved one, who has type 1 diabetes, was warmly welcomed into the assisted living community by the staff and the residents a little over six years ago. In January of last year, he moved into Pathways Memory Support. My family and I are grateful to all of the staff who made the transition go well for my brother, and for the care and support they provide to meet his needs, both physically and emotionally. We appreciate each of the nurses, their great compassion and care, and that there is a consistent rotation (as much as possible) of the same nurses in the unit. The wellness coordinator is always easy to talk to, and if I need to call and leave a message she calls me back. Thank you to EVERYONE at O'Neill's for your dedication, kindness and efforts (past and present!)

My grandmother had to come here temporarily after being discharged from Cleveland Clinic Lutheran hospital, following diagnosis and care of gram negative bacilli. This place is incredible. Upon walking in, you would not think this is a nursing home, but a small, quaint village. Everything is super clean and the rooms are tidy. I want to give the staff here a massive thank you for looking after my grandmother as I work full time and my 79-year old grandfather has rigorous volunteering opportunities going on. It warms my heart knowing she is going home tomorrow. The staff here is top rate and extremely friendly. Highly recommended!

The level of care my Nana has received from this facility the last 5 or 6 weeks has been phenomenal. We had some unique concerns that staff went above and beyond to be aware of and support us through. The quality and range of meals were something she bragged about daily. I stayed here when I was recovering from a shattered right shoulder and knee- Very beautiful facility and wonderful staff! However, not very good when they don’t let you know your insurance has stopped paying and they tell you two days later that you owe over $500 that you have to pay out of pocket PLUS they charge you for therapy services never performed!!! I’m not happy and their billing office needs to do a better job of making sure that the patient has adequate coverage and if not then let them know so they don’t have to pay out of pocket for services provided and services not performed!!! I don’t take advantage of people or do them wrong!!! I’m hurt and disappointed in this facility and would never come back if I was ever hurt again -

They understood my strengths and weaknesses. They developed a plan of activities specific to my needs. I love this place. No one ever wants to put their parent in a healthcare facility. We always like to think that we can handle anything that is thrown at us. I was unable to care for my father at home due to his medical issues and needs for his care. I was very overwhelmed and the only one in the family. The staff at O'Neill was amazing. My father was there in skilled rehab then moved into hospice. The staff helped me along the way with EVERYTHING. I mean everything. From applying for insurance, finding lawyers, my dad's care, to even helping me with my own mental health throughout all of this. They don't treat their residents like a paycheck, they treat them like they're humans, like family. My father and I became apart of this O'Neill family. I wouldn't have been able to go through this without the staff there. They truly are amazing.

I can not thank the entire staff at O'Neil North Olmsted enough for their patience, care and love that they give my sister everyday. The entire team rolls up their sleeves, everyday, and gives it their all. I have seen every employee do what needs to be done to nurture the team and accomplish the tasks at hand during all of the challenges of living in a pandemic. As a result, every resident receives the care they deserve. Each employee knows all of the little things that are important to each resident and go out of their way to make sure that they receive that care each day. I know my sister would not have made the progress that she has without the love and care of the O'Neil Team. I'd like to thank Janell, Aja, Brandy, Crystal, Katlyn, Donna, Sherrie, all of the therapy team, all nursing assistants, all nurses and managers and the entire staff on the second floor for all they have done to make sure my sister is comfortable, happy and loved.

What a BIG STAR we have among us in North Olmsted, Ohio, that's called O'Neill Rehab Center on Clague Rd. Within its many departments there is a Skilled Rehab unit on the second floor. That's where I was taken for rehab on a new replacement back in October,2020. My grandmother has been at O’Neill North Olmsted for over 2 years. The care has been outstanding. She is always well cared for. Especially in these difficult times of COVID, the staff did all they could to abide by the protocols but also kept the patients engaged. They had very strict policies, to protect their patients. What makes O’Neill stand out from the others is the communication. They constantly touch base with family members and keep us updated on our grandmother. Putting your loved one in a nursing home is one of the most difficult decisions you have to make in your life, but we have piece of mind knowing she is well cared for at O’Neill North Olmsted.

My mother has been in the skilled nursing unit at O'Neil Healthcare North Olmsted for 2 years now. The staff has been extremely caring and helpful. Mother has dementia and at times can become difficult. The staff always keeps me updated and we work together to make her comfortable. During this trying time with COVID our family was faced with another challenge, not only were we not able to visit with Mom but her daughter was diagnosed with terminal cancer with only 4 months to live. I called the social worker Sarah explained the situation. The entire O'Neil skilled nursing staff worked with Mom, calmed her when she needed calming, encouraged her to participate in activities, and someone to talk to when she would cry. Our family is blessed to have Mom in such a wonderful facility. Although I wish I could visit more I respect the rules of the CDC and O'Neil healthcare team to keep our Mom safe, comfortable and happy during these crazy times. You are doing a Great Job and our family can't THANK YOU ALL enough.

My mom has been a skilled nursing resident her on 2 occasions. The staff has treated her like family. Both RNs and STNAs have been wonderful to her. The therapists have been absolutely wonderful and she has become very attached to this group. They want her to succeed and it shows. They are so encouraging and are genuinely excited for her when she makes progress. I had a need to meet with social services and was able to get answers to my long list of questions. When there were questions the social worker couldn't answer, she sought out the answers or pointed me in the right direction. After my mom's last hospital stay, she had a choice of facilities to go to. She chose O'Neill North Olmsted because her prior stay was so good. Thank you for making this difficult time a little easier.

I don't know if any of you reading this, or anyone in your family, has ever had a need for a facility that you have to go to after a hospital stay (known as rehab), but I would like to pass on my wonderful experience that I had at O'Neill Healthcare North Olmsted. It's usually when people have what they consider a "bad experience" that they complain over social media. Well I want to give a bunch of Kudos and Thank You's to all of the hardworking, attentive, professionals that are employed there. Never was I ignored, spoken harshly to, abused, or any of the terrible things you hear about in some nursing facilities these days. When I first arrived there, I was introduced to the nurse who took down all of the information about me that she needed to put into the computer. (My family didn't need to assist me with this , but some newly admitted residents might need family help.) Then I was able to relax and chill a little while to get used to my surroundings. The STNAs that were assigned to me made me feel comfortable and set me up with everything I needed. So to make this part short and to the point : EVERY nurse and STNA that I came into contact with treated me with respect, dignity, and care. Any one of them would go out of their way to get you what you requested, as long as your doctor said it was ok. So Kudos and big thank you's to each and every on of the people associated with nursing staff. I came in to meet strangers and left knowing friends Next is the therapy department. Again ALL the professionals in both OT and PT were absolutely wonderful!!! I got to know them a little more than any of the other staff in the facility because I had a lot of face to face time with them throughout my stay. These ladies, and a couple of gents, were attuned to what I needed for therapy to get me home and functioning for myself. They also listened to my gripes about my joints, laughed at my wisecracks, and exchanged life matters with me (usually about our kids, pets, and grandkids). So the more personable we became with each other, it seemed the harder I wanted to work for them. They always explained how every therapy they had me do would benefit me and make me stronger. And they made a heck of a cup of coffee!!!! So huge Kudos and great big thanks to EVERYONE in the therapy department at O'Neill North Olmsted. A more diverse, yet tight knit group you'll never find. All with one goal in mind - to get the resident strong and self-reliant in whatever there abilities their bodies will allow. The nudge, they never demand. Now I have to give attention to the activities crew. They think of so much to do here!! They come around and remind you of what is going on, at what time, and to see if you want to join in, They come up with so many fun and interesting things to do (ex : card games, baking, exercises, and sing-a-longs.) You even get to taste the things that you bake!!! They also have Bingo twice a week which is my favorite!!! So Kudos and a BIG thank you to the creative and very caring activities crew!! Keep on BINGO-ING!!!! I have been a vegetarian for 29 years. Some other nursing facilities that I have rehabbed at didn't have a clue how to cook or what to make for me except salads, grilled cheese sandwiches, and egg salad sandwiches. Not at O'Neill's!!! The dietician met with me in my room and we discussed what I ate, what I liked, where could she go to find what I required, and sometimes, how to make it. I know there was another lady at the facility who required gluten free meals, and the dietician, again, got what information she needed to make sure the lady had what she needed and preferred. Big thank you to the dietician and dietary team!!! And lastly, housekeeping. Those hardworking ladies clean and straighten up your room so fast you don't have time to mess it up!!! You don't even want to!!! They are so caring about not only you but also the items that you have brought in from home. Thank you so much ladies for taking such good care of me. You guys are "the bomb" or what ever the kids say these days!!! Thank you all!!!!

When we transferred mom, 95, to the Pathways department at O’Neill’s Healthcare in North Olmsted, I honestly did not see how they would be able to match the stellar care she had received during her short stay at the Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake. I am happy to say, however, that the staff at Pathways exceeded my expectations in nearly every way. The combination of mom’s declining health, progressing dementia and strong will to stay with us a little while longer forced us to find a permanent healthcare home for her, and the fact that there was only one room available at the Pathways facility at the time now makes us realize just how fortunate we were. The Pathways staff, from the head nurses on every shift to the STNA nurse aids that we met, all proved to be a professional yet personable group of caregivers. My tendency is to want to name names, but I am sure I will leave somebody out. Suffice it to say that I cannot think of even one individual who cared for mom that I had a concern with, even though I was able to visit her almost daily during her 6 week stay at O’Neill’s. The Western Reserve hospice nurses that continued to care for mom always seemed to be able to work seamlessly with the Pathways nursing staff as well. They were all more than willing to give us an accurate report on how mom was doing each day, to adjust her medications as needed, and to accommodate the many questions and concerns we had along the way. It seemed that whenever I walked into the Pathways wing to visit mom, I would usually see residents being actively cared for, charts being read, medications being administered, or even an aid sitting next to a resident simply holding their hand. When it was learned that mom was a Cleveland Indians fan, she was often personally lead in singing Take Me Out to the Ballgame by the aid who was assigned to her. It was also precious to watch mom respond with an I love you too! to the I love you! greeting that this aid would often give mom. I was not surprised when she cried along with us the night the Lord called mom home. It is not often when the four of us kids can agree on any one thing. In this case, however, I think we can all say that Pathways would be our first choice if we had it to do all over again. A united and heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone there who gave mom the best care possible in her final days.

No problem w/actual "care," BUT . . . ancillary staff is unpleasant, especially via telephone (social services). No due diligence. I live w/my 94 year old mom & am her (power of attorney) caregiver, yet they listed my estranged sister as "contact," & I get no medical updates, etc. Recent physical therapy, I asked to be called when mom came from hospital (to bring her clothes). No one did. When I asked why no one tells me about mom's medical issues, phone person repeatedly asked if she could ask my mom if I am her caregiver instead of my sister, but mom says that no one asked her. In 2013, we were outrageously overbilled w/no explanation, & our $ was held hostage for months w/2 trickled back reimbursements. No itemized bill or explanation of charges w/held. STILL trying to find proper agency to investigate.
