Reviews Cascade Manor – CCRC
November 2023
I had no idea I'd be getting healthier as I added years, but that's just what happened. Seven years ago, my husband and I moved to Cascade Manor, and we've taken full advantage of what I call the "movement amenities." There is an indoor swimming pool and spa, a well equipped fitness center, and plenty of classes from Tai Chi and yoga, to Better Bones and Balance, to Wii fitness. I'm much stronger than I was seven years ago, I feel better with fewer aches and pains, and sleep better, and I attribute it all to my regular exercise routine, all right here, at my convenience. The same thing goes for my husband. When we moved in, he was using a cane and wouldn't think of taking the stairs. Now he's seen zipping around, including the stairs, caneless, racking up his 15,000 steps a day. Cascade Manor is the perfect place to add years to your life and life to your years!
July 2023
My husband and I have lived at Cascade Manor for about 20 months and feel very much at home. We love our 2 bedroom tower apartment with the gorgeous west-facing view. The layout of the rooms is perfect for us -one bedroom for sleeping and one bedroom for our music/play room! Many of Cascade Manor's amenities are conveniently located in the tower .... which include friendly greetings and conversations on our way to the pool, laundry, dining room, fitness room, auditorium, beauty parlor, library, and more! We can also walk out the front door and choose from an endless variety of forested/neighborhoond walks. Oh, and did I mention the grocery store, beer/coffee cafe, Rite Aid, Pet Store, and several restaurants are right across the street? Finally, and importantly, the staff is friendly and hard-working. It is very clear we made the right decision for us.

Picture yourself in the Pacific Northwest, picture yourself among the trees in the college town of Eugene, picture yourself at one of the premier retirement communities in Oregon. This is a community where community and caring is the primary vision. You feel welcome here!
February 2023
Moving into Cascade Manor four years ago was one of the best decisions I ever made. It is a wonderful continuing care community, which is important because at some point in our lives, I believe everyone is likely to value and appreciate assistance of some sort. The people who live here are welcoming, likable, friendly and they represent a wide range of professional backgrounds. An astonishing number of residents have earned notable honors and recognition for distinguished achievement in their fields of endeavor. Simply put, CM is full of interesting people who are actively engaged in the life of the community. They work closely and cooperatively with the Manor's professional leadership to make CM the best it can be. There is so much on-going, lively, and worthwhile activity that many residents find it almost impossible to participate in everything that interests them. Just sharing meals with fellow residents in the main dining room or the bistro is a continuing delight. Supporting all of this is a super staff, well trained and committed to keeping the trains running on time. Bob Baechtold

Cascade Manor review for Google We wanted to move to a Continuing Care facility to avoid the need to move several times if our health becomes problematic as we age. We have been here for six years and have no regrets. We like our apartment which has two-bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room adjacent to a full kitchen. There are many residents with fascinating stories to tell and expertise to share. Some activities are staff-led, such as lunch and shopping trips, memory skills and a variety of exercises: yoga, pool, Bones and Balance and WiiFit. Residents generate discussion groups, give talks, lead singing, and run a woodshop and an art club. We enjoy regular visits to our campus by musicians, both professional and student. The staff get to know all our names and are thoughtful and encouraging and, overall, there is a culture of mutual respect amongst staff and residents. Everyone struggled with the covid pandemic, but came through it and are enjoying being able to be social again. NH

My husband and I had been retired for ten years when we decided we needed a change from managing our big house and property. We chose Cascade Manor, and we're so glad we did. Once our bright, spacious apartment was freshly painted and new carpet installed, we were happy to move in. When covid shut down everything a few weeks later, we were impressed that the dining staff pivoted immediately to providing takeout meals we chose from an extensive menu, brought right to our door by cheerful dining room servers--with juice and coffee! Residents kept in touch with each other through Zoom, and we felt safe and protected in our new home. On-site clinics provided staff and residents alike with flu and covid vaccinations. Now that all our venues are open again, we enjoy seeing old friends and making new ones. My favorite activities are working in the library and chairing the dining committee, but there are many resident groups and committees to join, including art, music, facilities, council, health, safety, genealogy, gardens, language and reading groups, and many more. I'm not a pool and exercise type myself, but the tai chi and exercise groups are welcoming. I hadn't planned on being involved in so many committees, but it has been a fun way to stay in touch with our friends and new neighbors. Cascade Manor is a wonderful place to live.

We moved into Cascade Manor 5 months ago, and we are very pleased with the facility, our new neighbors, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing that this continuous care community will provide the support that each of us may need in time. Giving up our home was difficult, but giving up the responsibilities of home and property ownership was not. During COVID we have experienced that residents here are as concerned for the health of everyone else as they are for their own. We are exploring several of the many stimulating programs on this campus, but we have also maintained the activities and commitments that we enjoy in the wider Eugene-Springfield area. One can be as engaged or as private as desired at Cascade Manor. Jim and Barbara Walk

Clifford & Carol Ann In 2016 my wife & I began visiting retirement communities. We initially thought that these communities were all the same as the assistant living facility where my relatives lived the last year of their lives. Well, I was wrong. We visited six retirement communities in the Northwest & Southwestern states. However, we saved the best for last and our decision was made. We decided on Cascade Manor because of the lively energy and how friendly and welcoming the residents were to us. In addition, we appreciated the variety of apartment sizes & amenities. Another key element was the location of Cascade Manor. We have wonderful shopping, banking, parks, churches & much more. We were also impressed with the competitive nature of the cost of living at Cascade Manor. We put pencil to paper & found that the Manor was an excellent financial consideration for us. We moved here in 2018 and shortly afterwards we became involved with various committees of which there are many to choose from. One committee always stood out for us is the Cascade Manor Foundation. When a position became available for the Foundation, my wife ran and was voted in. We discovered that the foundation assists the residents of Cascade Manor should the financial need arise as well as contributing to other meaningful projects during the year. In summary, we are very pleased with our decision to move to Cascade Manor. The residents, staff & management are caring & professional in their positions. We made a wise choice!

When we moved to Eugene three years ago to be near our kids, we realized that we had a choice. We could buy yet another house with all the responsibilities of maintaining a property or we could seek out a Continuing Care Retirement Community where all of our needs would be taken care of for the rest of our lives. Cascade Manor is not only the only CCRC in Eugene, it is also a phenomenal community. Bright, well educated and highly engaged people who are a delight to be with, a wonderful very committed staff who clearly care deeply about us, fantastic food and entertainment, Cascade Manor has it all! I would not hesitate to recommend Cascade Manor as the best there is.
September 2020
My husband and I moved to Cascade Manor in July 2017 after visiting ten retirement communities in various parts of the country. We selected Cascade Manor because it offered several floor plans with widely varying sizes and in our case a fenced yard. (Our dog loves our new home.) Another significant factor was the accessibility to daily needs - pharmacy, quality food market, bank, office supply and mail service being just a walk across the street. What we couldn't have known, but discovered within a short time following our move in, was the quality and dedication of the administrative staff and employees and their quick response to individual needs. They must have a fairly rigorous criteria for employment consideration. The food is exceptional and there are many opportunities to enjoy quality live musical performances and other stimulating activities. If you are looking for a well-located high quality continuous care retirement facility and don't mind dodging a few wheelchairs and walkers occasionally, this facility deserves your consideration.

My wife and I have lived at Cascade Manor for over two years. Moving here was one of the best decisions we have ever made. Our three bedroom, two bath home is comfortable, and well designed for living as we age. Our neighbors are wonderful. The community is welcoming and supportive and there are activities to meet all interests. The meals are excellent, however, one needs to sometimes say no to the desserts. We look forward to more years living at Cascade Man

I'm an ex employee, and if I ever got a chance to work the health care center again, I'd be a happy man.
December 2019
My wife and I moved to Cascade Manor in January of 2017. Before doing so, we investigated similar retirement communities in Northern California close to our home in Marin County. Most such communities have lovely grounds but are located so far from shopping and other in-town businesses and attractions that one must drive to them. Cascade Manor is directly across the street from major grocery and drug stores, restaurants, banks, coffee shops, pet stores, close to medical facilities and other businesses within easy walking distance of home. And after experiencing the "joy" of home ownership for over 40 years, we are more than happy with the fact that we no longer have to replant landscaping, clean gutters, paint and maintain a home, or deal with electricians and plumbers when things go "haywire" or get "clogged up." Finally, Cascade Manor has a dedicated, hard-working and friendly staff and a community of intelligent, interesting, and convivial residents who make living here a wonderful experience.
November 2019
My wife and I have lived at Cascade Manor for eight years now. Our experience has been nothing but positive. Fellow residents all have had interesting vocational careers and it is a real joy to learn about the details in conversations during dining. Educational and recreational opportunities abound but one can also be less involved, if that is your desire. The food offerings are excellent, whether that is in the main dining room or the less formal bistro. I do not hesitate to recommend the Manor to friends and family.
October 2019
We live at Cascade Manor and LOVE it! Vibrant, engaged residents ranging in age from 63 to 103 make it a great place to be! Lots of activities and stimulating evening events keep the mind agile and engaged. Have been here 3 years and couldn't imagine a better place to live.
