Reviews Williamsburg Senior Living Community
June 2026
Looked at this place for a family member but after speaking to a few people, I don’t think it’s best. I’ve heard that today they have a-lot of cases of Covid and are still bringing the residents out to the dinning room. I just really don’t think this is safe for the staff or residents. If they don’t care about their health, I know they won’t care about my father’s.

When we started our search for Assisted Living facilities my mom my brother and I visited several facilities. We all agreed that Williamsburg would be the choice. From the moment we stepped in the front door the friendly atmosphere and caring and concern for the residents was evident. The staff and residents were welcoming. The food was very good and her apartment was perfect. The facility is in the heart of the city but tucked away off of a Main Street. It is situated on lovely grounds with patio areas outside. My mom looked forward to her daily morning exercise and afternoon bingo. My husband and I have already said if we need Assisted Living Williamsburg would be at the top of our list.

This place is amazing. So clean & well taken care of. I can’t say enough about the staff. From the Director to the aides that take care of the residents daily, each one treated my mom & all of her family and friends like a part of their family. They all took amazing care of her & was always concerned about her. She absolutely loved it there. I would highly recommend Williamsburg to anyone who may be considering an assisted living facility. You would absolutely love it there.

The staff at Williamsburg Senior Living is wonderful! I especially want to recognize Samantha Hodgeson. She is the Social Activities Director. Samantha is kind, professional, and genuine. She is quick to respond and answer any questions. She truly cares about the residents she serves and does a wonderful job of creating a fun social calendar to keep them engaged every day!

My mom spent a wonderful year at Williamsburg. The staff was caring and attentive and EVERYONE was always friendly and welcoming. She felt like a princess with delicious, healthy meals prepared each day and housekeeping weekly. She loved the number and variety of daily activities while maintaining her independence. I highly recommend living in the Williamsburg community. My mom was very happy living there.

My grandmother has thrived at Williamsburg Senior Living for the past 3 years. The staff is truly exceptional, from the warm and dedicated meal and housekeeping teams to the attentive management who ensure residents feel heard and have opportunities to engage both inside of and beyond this community. We have peace of mind knowing she can maintain her independence in her own apartment along with her freedom to leave as she pleases to spend time with her church, family, and friends around town. Whether it's addressing a maintenance issue or coordinating a space for our family to host a gathering, the staff goes above and beyond. Williamsburg Senior Living staff (Tonia, Stacy, Trina, Celeste, and Marguerite to name a few) have become an extension of our family, and we're incredibly grateful for the care they extend and safe environment they foster.

My mom had a wonderful 3 years at Williamsburg with a lot of new friends who became like family to her. Huge thanks to the entire staff for taking care of her and keeping her healthy and active.

After it was determined that my mother in law needed more care on a daily basis, Williamsburg was one of the first places we visited. Since day 1, the staff and care has been amazing! The community feeling, along with the spacious accommodations, has helped my mother in law feel that she is still independent, yet have the safety and assistance she needs. We as her family feel that way too! It's a sigh of relief knowing the we don't have to worry. The activities coordinator is great at planning fun activities. She loves the outings around town. It truly is a special place and I strongly urge families to consider Williamsburg for placement of their loved ones when that time comes.

My mother and Father first moved to Williamsburg 8 or 9 yrs ago. They had previously lived on a farm in north Alabama for 35 years and the change from that environment to assisted living was too big a change for them to handle. The flood of 2016 caused my sister's home and the whole neighborhood to be ruined. My sister's home and the next door house were rebuilt within a year. Mom and Dad rented the next door house with my sister next to them. Early Dec 2020, they decided that because of mom's declining health, to move back to Williamsburg. Mom only lived to the end of January and Dad decided to stay at Williamsburg. For the next 3 years, he enjoyed being there. Every time I visited him, the staff greeted as I walked the halls. I have asked several of the people working there how long had they been there. Almost all said 15 or more years! The place is kept clean and well maintained. My Dad's place was kept spotless and his clothes washed and dried twice a week. I am looking forward to when I get of the age where I need assistance, to moving into a place there!

Williamsburg Senior Living Community is near and dear to our family’s heart. My dad chose Williamsburg as his home last year. We knew it was the right choice because it was home for our grandmother years before and had exceeded our expectations then. Dad made many friends and some became like family. The staff was attentive to his needs and supported his independence as well as providing assistance where it was needed. We are grateful Williamsburg Senior Living Community.

Where to start? Williamsburg is fantastic. Our Mom lived there for nearly 10 years, and she loved it. She appreciated the Saturday vigil Mass immensely. She loved the food and all of the kitchen staff. Her room was so pleasant with large windows overlooking trees. The management staff is outstanding. House cleaning folks are conscientious, sweet, and hard working. She loved her card games and all the activities. And she had so many good friends over the years that she loved. It was perfect for Mom. And we, her children, appreciated how much it made her happy and feel safe. Thanks Williamsburg!

Somehow, my review got deleted (probably by me). So, I needed to repost a review regarding Williamsburg Retirement and how my mom made the absolute best move in this phase of her life by moving into a 1 bedroom there. She moved here about 3 to 4 weeks ago after living in her home with my dad for 23 years. We toured and saw everything the facility had to offer and one thing my mom noticed right away was the coffee area. She won't be without her coffee. Their meals are excellent, and she has had so many great ones that she tells me about them when we talk by phone. Hat's off to the chef and kitchen staff. Anyway, she is comfortable at Williamsburg and says "I LOVVVVE It'. She can still use her car but needs to check out when she leaves (which is a safety deal) and makes my sister and I feel at ease. Take a tour if you have not seen this lovely Retirement Community nestled among trees and right behind Superior Grill on Government Street in Mid City Baton Rouge.
April 2024
My mother moved to Williamsburg recently from her home in Midcity, Baton Rouge. My father passed away a year ago, and she was feeling ready to downsize as well as a little socially isolated. She visited Williamsburg in January and knew immediately that it was where she wanted to be. Luckily, a perfect apartment became available, and I encouraged her to jump on it, even if it took a few months for her to relocate. I was in Baton Rouge a couple weeks ago for the move, and it was such a smooth, and frankly, joyous experience. It made me feel excited and confident that she'd made the right decision. Everyone was so warm, welcoming and ready to help her get acclimated from the moment she arrived. I live out of town, and the last two weeks have been the first two in a long time where I've known without question that she is safe and part of a caring community where she can learn new things, make new friends, and live this new chapter of her life to the fullest. Thank you, Williamsburg!

My parents moved in during COVID in 2020 and they should have moved earlier! They were very independent in their home but finally accepted that they needed some help. They moved into independent living, and met many folks who were also independent, but also those living in assisted living. They always thought the food was great (they had only been eating at restaurants for the prior several years) and enjoyed all the new friends they made. Not just the fellow residents, but the staff too who were always helpful. From the time Tonia showed them the place to the many friendly faces who would bend over backwards if they needed anything. Also, a special thank you to Harvey who seemed to do everything! Also, a special thanks to all the ladies who helped my dad so much as he grew weaker. They spotted him having difficulty and were so quick to help and make things easier! 3 1/2 years went by so quickly, until health issues with them both made a move to nursing care necessary. We’ll never forget the experiences, especially the family days with BBQ and games and petting zoo. Thanks again for everything!!!
October 2023
Such an amazing retirement center. My grandmother 95 years old lives here. There are so many different options. For instance. My grandmother is able to get around and take of herself, so she lives in an independent apartment yet has the ability to ring for help if needed and have support like meal service if she doesn’t feel like cooking. The food is well prepared. The staff are courteous and well training!!! Your loved ones will love the options and flexibility and you will know they are well taken care of here!!! Such a blessings!!!
June 2023
Ms Griffin Y’all do a fabulous job at the Williamsburg! The staff is great, the food is great, my mom loves living there! My mom feels safe and secure and that is one thing I dont have to worry about!!! And all of her guests complimented the food as well, staff and faculty as well. Thanks again for doing such a wonderful job for my mom! Chris Eddy

Our father was a resident of Williamsburg Retirement Community. During his stay there, he was treated with such respect and kindness. Williamsburg was a wonderful place for him, as well as for our family. We could not have asked for more kind and caring personnel. The managemen and staff; as well as the residents were always so very friendly towards us all. Our Father was always given the attention he needed and deserved. Williamsburg went above, and beyond! I strongly recommend Williamsburg to anyone who may be looking for a retirement home for a loved one or for themselves. You won’t be disappointed.
July 2022
Our family has had such a good experience transitioning my Dad into this Senior living community. The residents and staff have been so kind and helpful during this time. I appreciate all that Williamsburg has done for our family. They made my Dad feel welcome and important. I know that he is in good hands and that has made all the difference. Great place and would definitely recommend!
February 2022
My father, brother and I visited with several retirement communities while making a decision on my dad's new home. Without a doubt, Williamsburg was heads and heels above the rest. The staff and fellow residents make this a wonderful community of which my father is proud to belong. We are very thankful that he is extremely happy, content and settled. Williamsburg is the best!! We thank God every day for leading us to the doorstep of Williamsburg.
March 2021
My mother lived in independent living at Williamsburg for 9 years before moving into a nursing home. I can’t say enough good things about the facility and its staff. Management stays on top of things and staff is attentive, compassionate, and accommodating. My mother especially enjoyed her spacious apartment and the outside views from its large windows. I consider Williamsburg to be one of Baton Rouge’s premier senior living communities and would recommend it to anyone seeking placement for a loved one.
December 2020
My aunt and parents lived at Williamsburg so when we started taking care of an elderly cousin we knew exactly where to bring her. She loved Williamsburg and enjoyed all the activities they had. We were so grateful. If anything came up about her care they would notify us and we would solve any issues with their help. Thanks so much Williamsburg!!!
November 2020
My Mother lived at Williamsburg for three years. She loved living there. She looked at the staff and the residents as family. It is a beautiful place. I so appreciate all the staff did for her. They were there for her all the way to the end. I would highly recommend it to any who desire to feel at home.
October 2020
We have had a wonderful experience with Williamsburg. We could not ask for a better place for my Mother in law!! The staff is thoughtful, respectful, and kind. Truly a jig to be a part of this community!!
August 2020
My Mom resided at Williamsburg Sr. Living Community for 3.5 years. The apartments are spacious, and the facility is well-maintained. I would highly recommend this community for individuals that need low to medium assistance with basic living skills. The staff was always friendly and caring. The community events kept Mom busy and she especially enjoyed the music provided by Mr. Spring. Mom would still be living at Williamsburg had her Alzheimer condition not reached advanced stages. Unfortunately, she now requires 24/7 care. I am forever grateful to Williamsburg’s staff for providing Mom with a safe and cheerful home away from home. I will always remember how wonderful they were to her, even though she is no longer able.
August 2020
The staff at Williamsburg definitely goes above and beyond to make your loved one their loved one! This has been especially important in these challenging times of Covid. Even though we have not been able to visit nearly as often as we would like, I know my mother is being well taken care of and the safety of the residents is their priority. I am so thankful to have a partner in Williamsburg to assist in the care of my mom.
July 2020
My mother moved to Williamsburg in April 2019. She loves the friendly environment at Williamsburg. She is gardening, exercising, and cooking or baking simple recipes to share with friends. She enjoys the book reading group and working on puzzles! Our family is thankful she is happy. Thank you Williamsburg!
July 2020
Williamsburg is truly a community! The residents are happy and feel connected to each other and to the amazing staff. They have social and education experiences that keep the residents engaged. Even during this uneasy time with covid, we know that our family member is safe and that the administrators are making the right decisions.
July 2020
My mother has been a resident for 2 years and we have been very pleased with the personal attention she has received from the entire staff. These have been extraordinarily trying circumstances with the quarantining of our elderly population, but The Williamsburg has done a yeoman's job in maintaining safety while extending a personal touch to their residents.
July 2020
I have had experience with the Williamsburg Community and Staff for over 10 years, having placed my elderly Aunt and frequently visiting her over her remaining years. I have also had occasion to deal with the Staff in my professional capacity as an attorney. The thing that most impressed me upon walking in the front door is that there is no "odor of a nursing home;" rather, it is a lovely apartment complex. It has maintained its standards, and I have come to know many of the residents. There are religious services, continuing education classes, and many social activities that keep the residents active and involved. The Staff is extremely professional, and, more important, they sincerely care for each and every resident. That observation is valid from the Administrator all the way through the support and cleaning staff. I give Williamsburg my highest, unqualified recommendation. My only regret is that I did not move my Aunt to Williamsburg earlier.
July 2020
Dad has been at Williamsburg Senior Living Community for several years now, and we can’t say enough good things about his experience here. There is no question that he is truly cared for and valued as a member of the Williamsburg family. There are plenty of activities and functions for the residents to participate in, Dad is literally as busy as he wants to be! The few times Dad’s had a health crisis, we’ve been able to tap Williamsburg for temporary personal care referrals, and any issues that have arisen have been promptly addressed and resolved. Most important of all, Dad loves it here. Williamsburg is where he will stay as long as his health allows!
July 2020
The best thing about Williamsburg is the security factor. None of the other places in Baton Rouge offer the level of security found at Williamsburg. I have been to many facilities and the cleanliness of the facility and friendliness of the staff is outstanding.
July 2020
I have lived at Williamsburg for 4 years and have been very happy. I have plenty room, 1bedroom & sewing room, 2 baths & kitchen. There are lots of activities such as exercise, art class, Bingo, bridge, cornhole and more. The food is good too.
July 2020
Williamsburg is Baton Rouge's most lovely senior living community. It's convenient location on seven beautifully maintained acres in Mid-City makes it the perfect location for both the residents and visitors. Ease of access to Williamsburg is thoughtfully set back from the thoroughfares creating a sense of privacy in the heart of the city. Restaurants, grocery and retail stores are all a part of this vibrant neighborhood. The staff is excellent, the amenities are plentiful, and the apartments are perfect for the transition to senior living. Life is good in the Williamsburg community!
July 2020
My father lived at Williamsburg for nine years, and I visited him from California every three months for a week. He loved his home there at Williamsburg and always marveled at how lovely his surroundings were. His apartment had a beautiful view of treetops and the gazebo. He loved watching the birds and the squirrels. He absolutely loved the delicious meals and how the servers treated him with special "extra" desserts. My dad also loved music and dancing and attending all the functions where he could kick up his heels and even enjoy a cocktail with friends. He also would go to Mass on Saturdays there. The staff at Williamsburg made my dad feel like family and truly care about all their residents. My memories there are so fond, and I will always cherish the time I spent with him there. I would call him every day from California and he would be listening to big band music in his apartment with his lady friend, also who lived at Williamsburg. She still lives there and I call her weekly. She loves her apartment, which is so lovely, and she appreciates how caring they have been during this pandemic we all been experiencing. I am grateful to everyone at Williamsburg for making my father happy and living out his 97 years with grace and respect. If anyone would be considering a wonderful place to live, where your meals are prepared for you, your housekeeping is done for you, and all your needs are considered, Williamsburg Retirement Community is the place for you. Sincerely, Donna Zweig

My experience with Williamsburg Senior Living Community has been outstanding. Both of my parents resided there, my mother for 8 years. She loved every minute of her time at Williamsburg. The staff was thoughtful and respectful and gave her lots of love. My mother especially loved all the activities and attended as many as she could. I believe living at Williamsburg extended her life and certainly the quality of it. I am thankful that my siblings and I were able to enjoy the security and peace of mind of having our parents reside at Williamsburg. It’s a wonderful home away from home.

There is no place like home. My parents moved to Williamsburg after living at the same address for over 60 years. It was a stuff decision for parents and family. But once we moved in it was home. The staff is the reason. They always made everything so easy and helpful and made everyone feel like family. It is a wonderful to live when you have to make that decision. Thank you Williamsburg for all the love.

Wonderful apartments, wonderful staff and wonderful residents! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming!! Always fun activities either going out around town, visiting out of town sights, oe the activities planned at Williamsburg!
June 2020
My mom lived at Williamsburg for almost 4 years. During this time she was always treated with friendship and concern from the staff at Williamsburg. It was always cheerful, with the decorations in the entrance changing with every season and holiday and people gathering in the Library, Crafts room, Tiger Room and Chapel. The food was delicious and the kitchen staff made sure we had everything mom wanted. I lived out of town and stayed with mom a great deal of the time. Everyone was always friendly. Sherie,Tonya and Karla made me feel welcome and were willing to go out of their way to help me with anything I need for mom. I will always be thankful Mom choose Williamsburg. It is a wonderful place, full of wonderful residents and staff. It made mom's last years very pleasurable, playing bridge and making new friends. I would give it 10 stars if I could.
