I have a relative living in Seniors Village in Kamloops. He has been there for five years, since that time he has gained over 18 kilograms and is now morbidly obese. The diet he is receiving is very unhealthy, so if you care about nutrition, this is not a good place for you. All the meat is processed, in fact I believe most of the food served is either froze n or highly processed. They do offer options, however each options is just as bad as the other We have spoken to management about the unhealthy food, and nothing has been done to provide its residents with better quality food. Nothing is free in this place, apart from the unhealthy food. They either don't care if their residents die from diet related diseases or they are powerless to control the food quality.

Three months ago i decided to join Kamloops Seniors Village, And why not move into long term care right at the beginning of a Pandemic. I have to tell you, I have never had the experience of working with the most compassionate, efficient, and honestly genuine group of humans . From the management team spending countless hours organizing and preparing safety measures, to recreation doing everything to help seniors communicate with there family, to the house keeping and clinical teams keeping everything sanitary and safe for every one. They have really made every effort possible to keep all of villages residents still safe at home.

Kamloops Senior Village located on Hugh Allen drive in Kamloops is very welcoming from the time you walk in the front door to the time you leave. I volunteer weekly with St. John Ambulance doing dog therapy visits with our dog Veena. The residents are well cared for and loved by their dedicated care givers, all the support staff and more. There is lots of bright light coming in surrounded by a stunning outdoor view from all angles. A very positive and engaging environment. I have not yet tried the food but will have to come and try sometime! I have heard from the residents though that they enjoy their meals. Awesome work folks! I would highly recommend to anyone including a family member looking for residence. A really nice place & very well run. Thank you & have a good day. Shannon Atwat

I am so thankful my grandparents were able to get a space at KSV! The staff is amazing! Always welcoming. As my grandparents get older they are in need of more help. Unfortunately I am unable to always be there. I love that when I am unable to be there all we have to do is ask for help and I know someone will show up and help them out with a smile on their face! 

My parents were residents of KSV for approximately 5 years and were very comfortable and well cared for until they were moved to Long Term Care. Its a wonderful facility - warm and bright, and the staff are great. Fully engaged with the residents at all times. Manager Lisa Robitaille and Clinical Lead for Assisted Living Amy Theson deserve particular mention. The facility is well maintained with on-site staff and the dining room is bright and cheerful and residents are well fed. This was a great move for my parents who were in their early to mid 90's and I thank the staff at KSV for everything.

Our family only has wonderful things to say about Kamloops Seniors Village. I could not imagine a better place for our parents to end their days. Mom and dad had 2 1/2 years at KSV. They began in assisted living and as time passed and health failed, they were moved to 24 hour care. The care, comfort and love they received was exceptional. I live in Saskatchewan and I could leave to go home after a visit with confidence, knowing mom and dad were safe and looked after. There really are no words to say how much that meant to me. KSV provides a warm, clean and positive atmosphere. The care aides and nurses so kind and patient with our family with every phone call and every question. Having aging parents is never easy to process, but having them at KSV made the experience a beautiful one. Thank you!

My Grandad went here and my dog even managed to find his way here one day. One of the staff members took him home and took care of him and even got him some toys while looking for me. I got my dog safely home and I was able to explore the facility when my Grandad moved in later in life. It's a very spacious building with a nice open area near the front. The room my grandad stayed in was very nice, but unfortunately lacked the presence of my nana, so it never got to feel like home. All in all great staff and great facilities.

I just started with Kamloops Seniors Village at the beginning of April. I am so thrilled to be working in an amazing job. The management team welcomed me with open arms and laughter and pride in what they do for the seniors. The GM is one of the most helpful and caring people I have ever met and I am so thankful every day that they picked me to be on their team. My only wish is that I could have found these incredible people sooner. The residents and tenants have been so great during Covid 19 and are grateful for all that we have done to keep them safe during these trying times. That being said we could not have done it without all the staff. With staff appreciation, employee of the month, training and development of skills it is no wonder that many of the staff have been at Kamloops seniors village for years. I too look forward to many years with this incredible group. i can not imagine spending my working days and years anywhere else.

This facility is truly amazing. From Bonnie who does the tours and answers all your questions to the nursing staff that provide quality care to each and everyone. To the housekeeping staff that are wonderful at their job right down to maintenance who keep the facility running well. Every department in this facility plays such an important part that it is hard to mention each individually as to the dedication the staff have in providing the quality service they all do. You are all true Angel's to work in a facility like KSV. You are all compassionate and understanding of the residence needs, and provide exceptional care to everyone even when you are all stretched really thin or running short staff. The care my mom recived was fantastic, right down to the very end if her life. She was very important and everyone treated her with importance. She loved her room, it was her home and the care she received refected on her positive attitude and the compassion that was received from all the staff was truly amazing. I made a lot of friendships along the way, felt very important myself with all the staff. I honestly can't say enough about the quality of care you provide to your residence and the family. members. On behalf of the Warner family, we would like to extend deep appreciation and gratitude to everyone at Kamloops Seniors Village for all the caring and compassionate care our beloved parents Mac (aka Macaroni) and Theresa Warner have received and continue to receive. In a time such as this with the global pandemic and the significant loss in Seniors in nursing homes it is so comforting to know that KSV moved swiftly to implement stringent policies to ensure the safety of their staff and the seniors trusted into their care. The staff here take their jobs seriously but also carry such light, loving spirits. They make a point to truly know the people entrusted into their care. On June 4th our beloved Dad went home to be with the Lord (non covid related) and while it's difficult to lose a loved one, there were so many incredible and precious moments. Dad was loved by so many staff as we witnessed many of them coming in his room to pay their final respects, not out of obligation but from a personal desire to do so. We are so grateful to all the staff and while we don't know everyone's names a few standouts are Brian, Meghan and Martin. Each of you were so kind during this time and made this journey for Dad and each of us so much lighter. Thank you all so very much! So without hesitation our family would highly recommend Kamloops Senior's Village to anyone looking to transition to Assisted Living. They are the best and the gold standard. Sincerest of thanks to all the staff, we love you all dearly!

I am so happy with KSV - their staff were so helpful right from the inquiry stage (Bonnie Johnson is so wonderful!) to full admittance. They really care and don't treat families like it is a hotel. They are patient, kind, knowledgeable and trustworthy. When I was stressed about the whole decision making and moving in process, they were very helpful and walked me through everything.

Our family has had experience with all aspects of what this fine facility has to offer from Independent living, assisted living and full care. Our parents together lived there for 5 years on the independent and assisted living wing. The care they received from the staff was excellent. As their medical needs increased the staff was more than willing and able to go above and beyond to address our concerns for their health. After the passing of our mom, our dad had to be moved to a full care facility. The transition for this move has been beyond anything we thought could be possible. The staff from the management to the dining staff, the maintenance staff, care aides, and nursing staff were all onboard to making dad's transition as pleasant as possible. The whole approach to their facility is "What best suits the resident? Is this a good fit for them? What can we do to make things great for your loved one?" Truly you will not find a better place to call home for your loved one. So happy our dad has this beautiful facility with caring staff to call his home. Special thanks to the Director of Care, Carina and Bonnie, the Community Relations Manager who went above and beyond helping us with dad's move to full care. Love this place!

Our experience as primary supporters for a friend who was bed-ridden and paralyzed in complex care for several months until her death, was uniformly positive. Beginning with the staff at the reception desk, right up to upper management, everyone was communicative and supportive. They were thoughtful and creative in the ways they dealt with our friend and with us. Those caring for her directly day to day were considerate, cheerful and skillful. A simple example, is that they chose things to wear that pleased her and helped her look her best. They went out of their way to do special things to interest her and raise her spirits. They continually sought ways to alleviate our friend's condition through direct care, meetings and consultation with professionals, us and our friend. They were positive, knowledgeable and easy to contact. In similar fashion, her death was handled efficiently and with compassion. We feel very fortunate to have had this home for our friend's last days.
