The sociologists were right when I was growing up. They said that 'some day we "boomers" would take over the world.' We have. And many of us live in the Waterstone, enjoying our "late middle age. The Waterstone is a (very) full-service hotel-like complex that houses approximately 170 "late boomers". My wife (Linda) is 79 and I am 83. We both retired about 10 years ago but found that we had "aged out" of our upper-middle class condominium that we had lived in for the past 25 years. We decided to look for a more appropriate lifestyle for people approximately our age. We looked at several comprehensive complexes that were all good(ish) and encouraging. But when our daughter, who lives in Greenwich, CT, heard about our search, she advised us to visit Waterstone. She was very positive and optimistic about Waterstone which she had researched and visited. We drove out the next day and were "sold" on Waterstone immediately. We decided on our way home to deal with the many questions we had to make sure that an imminent move was feasible. It was, so we did it! We had some trepidation as we were acting so quickly, but all of our fears were small and short-lived. The Waterstone is a "garden of earthly delights". The move was smooth and we were helped by a wonderful staff. All activities and food are included in the monthly rent and I find myself walking around without a wallet. Most of the other tenants are between the ages of 70 and 85 and we made friends almost immediately! There are activities seven days a week and Linda and I always find activities that meet our interest levels. There is absolutely nothing that we hoped for and didn't get. The sociologists were correct. This is where we belong!

Jeanie Ricci (Senior Area Advisor) was more than welcoming, informative, helpful, cheerful, very patient and extremely pleasant! Jeanie was one of the reasons why my aunt became part of the Waterstone family - we must have visited at least 6 times before she made her decision and each time we were there, Jeanie was present. My aunt is very happy at Waterstone and Jeanie remains being an exceptional person. 5 stars to Jeanie and to Waterstone!!

My mother has been at Waterstone for almost two years and is the happiest I have seen her in years. It boils down to the people. The staff truly care about the residents, developing gun and stimulating programs and thematic parties and offering delicious food in a clean, bright environment. My mother has made many friends. There are interesting lectures, fun games and special events like the recent Antiques Roadshow appraisal of residents’ treasures. We are grateful for Waterstone and the fabulous staff there.

I can't say enough about the Waterstone on High Ridge senior living community. The level of care and attention they provide their residents is exceptional. They have created an environment that is elegant and yet deeply personal, with a warm, attentive and dedicated team. What really sets them apart though is their commitment to being a true community partner. They consistently show up for local nonprofits and have been incredibly supportive of the Stamford Senior Center. Their generosity and eagerness to collaborate on events throughout the year make a real difference for older adults throughout our city. My husband Dick Alford and I, Mimi Alford, moved into Waterstone on High Ridge in Stamford CT from Western MA two years ago. Today, October 2, 2025, is our 20th wedding anniversary - the perfect opportunity for me to say how grateful we both are to be residents in this beautiful, lively, interesting community. From day one, the staff has always supported us with welcoming attention, personal kindness and care and true compassion as we needed to make adjustments to our living situations. I have a lovely, bright one bedroom apartment in the Independent Section and beloved Dick is content, cared for and entertained in the Bridges Memory Section. Waterstone has created the perfect scenario to make us feel that we are still together on this difficult Alzheimer journey. Thank you Waterstone!

The staff care deeply about every resident, ensuring the most comfortable, social and uplifting environment for all. The Executive Director is present and meets regularly with residents and their families. The food is fantastic, the activities are enjoyed by all, the wellness activities keep people physically active the lectures keep everyone learning. Incredible programming, amazing facilities, excellent food and an unparalleled staff have made this transition to independent living for my father totally seamless. The staff truly cares about the residents. The other night my father returned quite late from a long day of repair supervision at the house he moved from and Mike the dining manager made sure the "to go" dinner he ordered was kept warm and ready for him when he got back to his new home. Wendy, Lynne, Vinny, Mike and Jeanie are exceptional. The way Waterstone integrates new residents into the day to day meals and activities is really notable. I am so grateful to see him so happy and meeting new friends and trying new activities. Thank you Elisa Persinger for helping us find Waterstone in the first place!

The Waterstone on High Ridge has been such an amazing move for my mom. After losing her husband of 65 years and leaving the home that she lived in for six decades, she felt connected with the people and the environment from her very first visit. Jeanie, Lynne, Vinnie and the entire management and staff are really something special”kind, steady, and deeply committed to creating a place that truly feels like home. Now, at almost 90, she’s doing better than we could’ve hoped. She’s more engaged, more social, and her anxiety has really eased - she seems to be aging backwards! There’s such a strong sense of community”people know each other, care about each other, and the tone is warm and welcoming. She loves all of the programming and just having people around to connect with. Some days I can’t even speak with her because she is so busy going between the music presentations, the art shows, the fireside chats and the talks on things like AI and technology. The food’s great and varied, and everything is well run. Everyone works to make things happen seamlessly for the community. Her apartment is clean, bright, and laid out in a way that makes daily life easy. The whole place is calm and well cared for. We’re so grateful that she’s at the Waterstone on High Ridge - thriving and enjoying this next phase of life!

My Dad moved to Waterstone in Stamford almost two months ago. This is a big move for any older person and it took two years to get him to do it. We are thrilled with his adjustment to his new life. The Waterstone staff has been exceptional. Jeannie, Lynn, Vinnie and everyone has taken great care to make sure he has been comfortable and well-acclimated. My Dad is very happy with the food (not an easy take to please a large group of elderly people), loves his apartment, is busy with activities and is making new friends. The facility is bright, clean and has a good vibe. I've been there several times when there is musical entertainment in the pub and see the residents happily socializing. It's so important at this age to have a vibrant community with a staff that cares -- and this is Waterstone. We couldn't be happier for him -- and for us!

My experience with Waterstone has been excellent. The staff is responsive, supportive and always available to discuss any topics pertaining to residents, meals, services, entertainment and other issues. The building is well designed, beautiful decor and kept very clean. The meals are delicious and varied. The sales team and concierge staff are pleasant to deal with. Waterstone is definitely a wonderful place to call home.

It is with great joy that I call Waterstone on High Ridge, our new home! The amenities available give us a chance to choose a from a huge variety of activities....Since my husband has a health challenge , I am able to join him in excerize, swim classes, Zumba, music concerts, Ted Talks, games, etc. I also joined the Garden club, book club, bird watching etc. Our dog Lily keeps us walking around the beautiful grounds 3 times daily.....The very best part (beside the delicious meals), is the COMMUNITY.... Which is warm, caring, compassion, creative and fun...... It is so beyond our expectations!!!!

Wow! My experiences at the Waterstone on High Ridge have been truly exceptional. I am actually looking forward to going back again soon! There is an amazing staff that ensures everyone feels welcomed from the moment they walk through the door. I felt welcomed by the personnel at the front desk, Jeanie and Dean! Not to mention, the inviting environment is warm and comfortable, making residents feel right at home. My parents moved into Waterstone in July and the transition has been seamless. besides the beautiful amenities and numerous activities offered, the staff and fellow residents are wonderful and welcoming. The location is also great, as they are close to shopping, doctors' offices, and Stamford Hospital. The grounds of Waterstone are impeccable as well. Our family has been so happy and continues to recommend Waterstone on High Ridge to anyone who is looking into senior living in Fairfield County.

The complex is really nice with lots of great features and amenities. The apartment our mom lives in is bright, roomy and suits her very well. The staff is so attentive and there is always something going on that residents can participate in. The fireside chats are especially enjoyable for our mom. The food is great and the restaurant staff is so friendly and always smiling. We are pleased with our experience and would highly recommend Waterstone.

My Mom moved into Waterstone 4 months ago and loves it! I had been working with Jeanie (sales) for over a year hoping we would get to the point of Mom moving in. Jeanie was patient and helpful in our working through this big decision and went above and beyond to help us. Once there, we met Lynne (resident dir.) who did a great job helping Mom navigate her new community. Mom is really enjoying the activities, especially those hosted by Vinny, the staff in the dining room are all lovely and fun. It’s an engaging place and just beautiful besides. I’d highly recommend it.

As the youngest of five children who had the sheer privilege of being raised by two remarkable, engaged, loving parents, the time came for me to help them. When it came to the very important decision of a new and final home for them, we wanted to be surrounded with care, kindness, and empathy....like family. The Waterstone and specifically Gina were just that...like extended family. Gina has opened her arms (literally) and heart to my dad and my family - we could not be more fortunate to have Gina and the rest of the team at the Waterstone bring joy to my father each day...like he did for us all our lives.
