I was in the Rivers for 12 days following a total knee replacement for rehab. I was rather nervous because I had never had this type of care before and boy was it painful. Everyone took amazing care of me with kindness and empathy, while all were good there are a few I want to acknowledge for going above and beyond. Lanika Jones, Nurse Brown Tanika (who knew I loved the rolls) Aisha who kept my room spotless and smelling wonderful Nurse Maja, Nurse Jan and Brittany Brown. Danille in PT who worked me out and gave me encouragement when i had my moments and got my ice packs ready and Altheaa who worked my arms to gain strength to master my walker and cane. These ladies looked in on me all the time and made me so comfortable. I was able to be discharged home yesterday the 27th (whole other story lol). Thank you again to these special ladies!!!! This place had almost the entire staff CELEBRATING Charlie Kirk’s death! Openly in front of residents and staff. The people in this place are lifelong senior Christians. This is UNACCEPTABLE! I’m telling all the adults I know to make sure additional people aren’t put in there ad those there are scared because they are Christian and the staff thinks Christians are bad! ARE THEY EVEN HELPING PATIENTS WHO NEED IT IF THEY ARE CHRISTIAN? Who owns and runs this place? THIS IS DANGEROUS AND UNACCEPTABLE!

Went in to visit cousin. Thinking of bringing Mom to see place. Every staff I saw was publicly celebrated death of Charlie Kirk. In a facility full of old folks who have been going to church for 75 years! NEVER GOING BACK! Not Bringing Mom! DISGUSTING BEHAVIOR IN WORKPLACE!

The Rivers of Grosse Pointe is a community gem. The many options of care levels are a nice way to grow with a community as needs change. Private rooms. Thats a super highlight on the acute care and rehab side of the facility. The Assisted Living is a resource if Independent Living is no longer an option. The facility is clean, beautiful, and from top to bottom everybody cares. The staffing shortages or high level of care deficits are an issue based on the eye of the beholder. Post Covid Era EVERY healthcare facility is short staffed due to shortages of RN’s, Aides, Social Workers its life as they know it. This exists everywhere but they do the best they can with tjis new post Covid culture. The Rivers has staff that have been in place for YEARS and that speaks for itself. They invest in their community, they invest in families and they continue to be a community strength and resource for when we really need it. I love recommending families to this facility and it always takes a village to deliver great care. Continue the great work!

My mother has lived at The Rivers since January 2021 and has lived in most of their units. The staff has accommodated her, and our family, at every opportunity & continues to keep a close eye on her. They host quarterly meetings with updates from each division and we are happy with her progress so far. We hope that she continues to thrive at The Rivers for a long time to come.

The independent living facility is wonderful! Tons of activities daily from workout classes to happy hour! They go on trips weekly and my mom couldn't be happier there. Nice staff and clean apartments with a beautiful indoor pool.

We moved into the Independent Living Rivers apartment almost nine years ago. Wonderful staff, apartment choices are for 2bed 2 bath or smaller, 3 meals a day or your choice, cleaning services every other week. We could not be more grateful we made this choice

I was transferred to The Rivers for treatment and physical therapy after a trip & fall accident first took me to the Beaumont Grosse Pointe ER who diagnosed left leg trauma, admitted me to a 4 day stay and did virtually nothing to treat the resulting agonizing pain..... The Rivers immediately evaluated my needs, accepted and ordered my nurse/wife's suggestion of a Prednisone dose pack to relieve inflammation/pain and began PT thereafter, using ultrasound therapeutic application, after each PT, to heal the affected muscle & tendon. The encouragement to self exercise between PT sessions was invaluable as was the meal offerings which were much better than other healthcare facilities I've needed.

Had my mom there for rehab for 13 days . I brought her bottles of water which they never gave her. They never washed her hair or shower. That I know of when I went get her they told me I had to wait 3 days for them to set everything up. Well I took her home and had everything set up in one hour. Not to mention the bruises she got on her arms

Would not recommend. My dad was supposed to receive help for two showers a week and we had to battle to get one and he went as long as nine days without one. His room was not taken care of, the food was subpar, most activities were cancelled and none were geared toward men, during COVID lockdown they were just isolated and not even able to visit family outdoors, no dignity at all. The most frustrating part was that when I called (couldn’t go in) I could never get anyone who was responsible for anything. The only time I got a call from the director was when he found out we were leaving (with our $7,475 per month) and asked us to stay. I told him specifically why we were leaving and he said he would check all those things out and get back to me, and never did. We pay a fraction of that cost somewhere else now, and are extremely happy there. Only gave it a 2 star rating because of the location - I really wanted it to work out.
