Very Disappointed Dad was only there 10 days before he fell ill and was hospitalized, then moved to Hospice care. The nurse and care coordinator both knew he was not well and was being transported by ambulance to the ER, but NOT ONCE after he left did anyone reach out to see how he was doing, or if he would be returning. We moved him out at the end of the month he paid for, turned in his keys, and still nothing, no follow-up at all. He was paying for level two care, primarily for bathroom assistance (as he was a fall risk), and help wheeling him to and from meals. He pushed his button for help and at times would sit for over an hour before assistance came, including the day he needed to go to the hospital. The call button system they use does not distinguish between routine needs and emergencies. The staff in the dining room was always very friendly, but the tables were often left dirty after early diners left, and it could be difficult to find a clean spot for Dad to sit. The food was pretty good. The place is poorly designed for moving in and out, with narrow winding driveways to the garage entrances (difficult to back a moving truck down), and two relatively small elevators, which are also used by the residents. They do have a decent variety of carts to use for moving furniture, etc. And they had an extra wheelchair for Dad to use until his own arrived, which was nice. The room itself was nice and spacious enough for Dad's furniture. He felt at home in his apartment. However, the doorways are barely wide enough for a wheelchair to pass through. A person operating their own manual wheelchair would scrape their hands going through the apartment door to the hallway. And the bathroom is not designed for maneuvering a wheelchair. We had high hopes for his stay at Summit Pointe, and were left with frustration and disappointment. We intended to discuss our concerns directly with Jennifer the nurse, and Kayla, but since they didn't respond to our request for a call, we went this route.

Grandma came to Summit Pointe when it became clear that she could no longer live on her own. The staff was welcoming and accommodating to her needs. And in her final days, they provided her comfort and compassion, and support for the entire family. If you are in need of a care facility, we would highly recommend Summit Pointe to provide the care your loved one truly deserves..

I want to take a moment to recognize Kayla. We called to find out more information about assisted living. Summit Pointe did not have any openings, so she really didn't need to take more time to talk with us. But Kayla took the time to recommend several other places in the area and a local senior living specialist who could help us find the right care for my mother-in-law. She probably had no idea how much she was helping us at a really difficult time. Her knowledge, patience, and generosity made such a difference. Sometimes we have no idea how much we are helping someone with a kind word or a helpful gesture. Thank you, Kayla, for being a difference maker! We really appreciate it!

I've only lived here a little over 2 months but I've already found 3 favorite weekly activities, with many more available to join in when i am able. Life is easier with prepared meals, help with housework, and transport to appointments or to events outside the building. I am able to focus my time and energy on improved wellness.

My father has been cared for with dignity and respect. All levels of staff know his name and I have seen them stop and chat on several occasions. I feel welcomed whenever I visit and feel grateful for Summit Pointe.

What a fun family holiday event at Summit Pointe Senior Living last Saturday with my aunt who lives in an assisted living apartment there. We were greeted by the cheerful summit pointe staff in festive holiday garb and offered treats and beverages as we entered the lobby. A pianist played holiday tunes in the fire side lounge as we chatted with family and friends at Summit Pointe. Next, we had a tasty holiday meal and dessert served in the main dining room. We chatted and watched summit pointe residents come and go on the horse and buggy rides. There were also many holiday activities throughout the building during the day including pictures with family, friends and Santa! Thanks very much to the Summit Pointe staff for coordinating this wonderful holiday event!

I love Summit Pointe! Mom has lived here for four years. As you can imagine, going through the pandemic shortly after she moved in.was something we never expected. Let me tell you that all the staff took such great care of her! The nursing staff and RA's take great care of mom. They're are always willing to help with her ever changing needs. Now that things are back to normal the activities have been so much fun! From the ice cream socials, corn day, Easter celebration and the amazing Christmas party the fun never stops. Let's not forget about the weekly bingo games, movies, Iowa sports parties and the musical guests that preform it really creates one huge extend family atmosphere! Also mom loves the food (as do I when I have time to eat with her) and let's not forget about the amazing desserts! The culinary team really knows how to make the tenants happy! Definitely a well run living facility! Keep up the fantastic work!

My Aunt has been an assisted living resident at Summit Pointe for many years. My Mom and I have traveled from a day away to visit and check in with SP staff about opportunities and concerns about needed future care. In every case, we found the staff to be pleasant, knowledgeable, and going out of their way to educate us and provide suggestions and resources. More notably though, my Aunt loves the community she lives in. They call her by name when we walk the halls with her. She knows them by name. My Mom and I feel good about where she is living and would not consider moving her.

Grandpa has been at Summit Point for a few years now and we have been incredibly pleased with everything! The staff is so attentive and helpful. Grandpa still has his independence, but meals are provided and there are always lots of activities that he can participate in. And there are great activities the family can join in too!! (Like ice cream socials thru the summer!) Highly recommend!!

The smile on my Grandpa's face when we visit him says more than any review can! But, since I'm here... the staff is all amazing and involved and when we visit for activities (which there is always a great variety of) they know all the residents by name and you can tell they care about each and every one. Clean, well maintained faciltiy serving healthy and delicious meals! Highly recommend!

My Dad has lived at Summit Pointe for almost 4 years and been very happy here! Covid lockdown took place during some of this time and the Administration and Staff took seriously the physical and emotional health of all the residents! Dad has a very nice apartment, all meals are provided, many amenities and activities are on site. Fun outings are planned and he enjoys daily social interactions! This is a clean and cheerful environment! All the employees are friendly and super helpful and go above and beyond!! We have experienced great communication! I would definitely encourage anyone to stop by and take a tour and see for yourself!

My mom lived at Summit Pointe for 4 plus years. I have nothing but good to say about the amazing staff that work there. I could see the love my mom had for the staff and that the staff loved my mom! The staff are amazing and go above and beyond for both the residents and their family members. Summit has started offering support classes not only for residents and their families, but the community as well. My mom started in assisted living and transitioned to memory care. She enjoyed the entire Summit Pointe environment! She always love the activities, staff and food! Thank you for all of your love! I would recommend Summit to anyone!

Summit Point has been a delight during these transitioning times. Very helpful with the Details. Patient when there is a misunderstanding that needs to be explained more. We also had a death in the family during the transition. The staff at Summit Point stepped up and provided the extra help and understanding through the Very Tough time. My folks were slow to grab on to the Summit Point Concept because they wanted to maintain their freedoms. Summit point will allow for the freedom to come and go, they provide many lively activities on campus, and provide meals of choice. So they soon found out that there were freedoms to enjoy everyday. I appreciate the efforts of the Staff at Summit Point, and if I would allow my folks to live there you can rest easy that your loved ones would be treated well and cared for appropriately.
