My mom has been at Silvergate in Memory care for 4 years. She is safe and happy. The med techs are kind and conscientious; they appropriately watch out for my mom whenever a health issue arises and they communicate with me anytime there are medical concerns. The activities are fun and engaging, but beyond that the activities staff do their best to include everyone making them feel special and cared for. My mom has been able to develop friendships there which has been crucial to her well being. Activity gals are absolute gems! Anytime we’ve had a concern or issue arise with my mom, the management has been receptive to correcting it or finding a solution. There are family forums throughout the year where refreshments are served and we can connect with Silvergate management/department heads and the families of other residents to bring up concerns and stay informed. My mom had a little issue arise with her TV and the Executive Director Jessica reached out to me personally, the very next day! Silvergate encourages family involvement and visitors. They host amazing dinner parties on the patio a few times per year for residents and family, as well as monthly lunches for us and other special activities for the various holidays. I just enjoyed a lovely Mother’s Day tea party with my mom and other memory care residents/family. The campus, building, and rooms are clean, modern and beautiful. My mom had been in several other facilities and in my home, prior to Silvergate. There were all sorts of issues, and I had to worry about her constantly” I was always functioning as a caregiver more than a daughter. While no where is perfect, my brother and I are very pleased with Silvergate. I get to be a daughter again and I’m not constantly dealing with facility problems. We see my mom multiple times a week, we take her out to church and to other family events, my mom is always happy to go back home to Silvergate! It’s hard having a loved one with dementia and seeing them deteriorate, but Silvergate has made a difficult situation better where we continue to create good memories and great moments with my mom.

Thank you Silvergate for the recent "Out of Africa"-themed social gathering in Rancho Bernardo! The entire event went very smoothly, from the friendly shuttle transport, to guest reception, to speedy meal service, and a warm, welcoming reception by all staff who served us! We enjoyed meeting so many enthusiastic community residents as well as interacting with the entire staff of Silvergate properties---from the President through the Marketing and Event Planners to the entire Food Service Staff! The meal was delicious, unique, and quite creative. The group of West African musicians and dancers energized us all with their upbeat music, personal interaction, amazing stilt-walking, and we even learned a few new expressions from their language: "Wau-wau" (wow-wow) for "thank you", and "Ba-ba-ooooo" for "Good-bye"! We know such an experience takes hard work and care to details, both of which were evident in the day's activities. Silvergate RB is the best place for our mother. She is busy and happy with lots of friends. The staff are welcoming, helpful, and kind. Our mom has had some health challenges which were mitigated by, not only their health team, but all the staff and residents. She loves her apartment. I like that the facility is smaller, rather than one of those sprawling complexes. I think that helps the staff support the residents better and creates a better sense of community within both the residents and staff. It’s a bright, happy place.

My mom has been at Silvergate going on 5 years. Friends frequently ask me what its like and I describe it as a luxury cruise ship on land. Beyond the facilities, nutrition and activities, are the caregivers and support team. They really do care. They represent moms second family, and although we'd rather have mom at home, that's nearly impossible at this point, and she could not be in a better place in which the staff continue to bring a smile to her face every day.

The guest parking is horrible! The facility vehicles (mini van, sedan & security/maintenance golf carts) park in guest parking when not in use. If there is no parking, you have to leave the grounds and park down the street in a different subdivision. Give yourself time if you have a set time scheduled for visiting.

Having the realization of need and having to make the difficult decision to place a loved one in a memory care facility is heartbreaking. After researching, vetting, and touring numerous facilities in San Diego County, we easily made the decision to place our mom at Silvergate Rancho Bernardo. Without a doubt, it was the best of the facilities we toured. The well-thought-out design is home-like and easy to navigate. No long hallways or corridors with multiple doors and institution-like layout. It is bright, airy, has high ceilings, beautiful and comfortable furnishings, and has a resort-like atmosphere. We felt an instant peace of mind knowing that she would be in a safe, beautiful, and serene environment. The attentive and skilled care, delicious food that would not disappoint a Foodie, and the many daily activities that target physical, mental, and social enhancement all led by the amazing Terry, have provided a tremendous benefit for our mom and her wellbeing. Our mom has been at Silvergate Rancho Bernardo for 3 weeks now and it is everything we hoped for. The kindness, caring and professionalism is genuine. Her transition has been smoother than expected. The staff are truly exceptional and that includes everyone from the concierges, nurses, caregivers, med techs to the administration team. Pam Rundle, Marketing Director, was exceedingly helpful, ever present and available to us throughout the process. She made all the difference with her support, compassion and guidance. It is a privilege and blessing for our family to have our mom be a resident at Silvergate Rancho Bernardo.

My experience with Silvergate Rancho Bernardo has been less than satisfactory. While the facility's appearance is impressive, it's clear that there are underlying problems that cannot be overlooked. Communication has been a major issue during my grandmother's stay here. She utilized her pendant to request help, and although someone without nursing credentials promptly called 911, it took an astonishing three days for the staff to inform me of the incident. I received a call from them asking for an update on her, which left me questioning when they planned to inform me about the 911 call. Their lack of transparency is concerning. During a recent emergency, I rushed to the community after discovering that my grandmother had been taken to the hospital. Astonishingly, I was told to my face that they had contacted everyone and left messages. However, all three adults in our family, including those living together, received no such messages or calls. This discrepancy raises serious doubts about their honesty and integrity. Communication issues extend beyond emergencies. There have been instances of Silvergate staff entering my grandmother's unit without permission, and even worse, they entered after three days of her not using her in unit button to say she is awake. The potential severity of this situation was disregarded entirely. Furthermore, their actions resulted in false alarm fines from the City of San Diego totaling $400, which they ultimately paid, but the responsibility for these fines lies with them. Aside from these issues, ongoing internet and TV problems persist within the community. Residents are paying a substantial amount for their living arrangements, and it's disheartening that basic services are not being adequately provided. Regrettably, my family has no choice but to move my grandmother out of Silvergate Rancho Bernardo. It has become evident that the facility is ill-equipped to handle the level of care and communication necessary for its residents. I hope this review sheds light on the challenges we've encountered, and I trust that the facility will take steps to address these issues for the well-being of its residents.

Living in this New Community in Rancho Bernardo named Silvergate RB has been such a joy for me. Staff will know your name within 2 days after moving here. Staff includes everyone who works here. Certainly made my me feel welcomed!! I moved here in early July and enjoy all of the Activities offered to me. I have made many new friends in the community while participating in these Activities such as Yoga, Tai Chi, Water Aerobics! And don't forget Eating outside on the Patio or inside the Dining room the Delicious food prepared by our French Chef! That is my favorite Activity!!!

Even with COVID-19 this has been a wonderful transition for us. We have dog so figured a cottage would be much better for us and we are happy we did.It is a windfall set up and with the small dog park on grounds we can walk him over and let wander without having to worry about him. We have also started a few of the activities [bocce and cards] with very strict facemask wearing. Once the virus is controlled we will have much more to do, but for now the meals are great, we have entertainment at least once a week and life is good.

Hi, although Silvergate is not completed yet & I cannot review what it's like to live there -I have to say that since I have put a deposit to secure my apartment I have nothing but positive things to say about the family Petree, the father David & his sons. They have bent over backwards to make depositors feel welcome, answer any questions & have been at the get to know one another events put together for the new residents! I feel so secure in knowing that they are doing everything to make living there a pleasant & positive transition. Someone (Pam:)) is always willing to answer questions & if she isn't sure she checks It out & always gets back to you. I was a little "unsettled" in the beginning about making this move but after getting to know & spend time with them all I am so pleased & excited about being able to be one of the residents there. Spend a little time to check them out-you will find compared to other retirement communities Silvergate Rancho Bernardo has such a feel of community , lots of amenities, & people who are there to help you with the transition. I am so excited about being able to move there & be a part of this new & wonderful community!!

I am so happy to be a Silvergate client. Pam Rundle is absolutely amazing to work with. She makes me feel comfortable, important, and welcome. Last week we were able to see the first model and it was beautiful. Of course there were lots of questions and she happily answered all of them. We took a trip to a local winery in Temecula where we had a yummy lunch and learned about the interesting history of Temecula and the surrounding wineries. Fun for all.!
