I just wanted to share how genuinely impressed I was after spending time with your team at Carlton. It didn't take long to see that this isn't just a place where people work. It's a place where people truly care. I was blown away by the compassion and kindness of the care managers and caregiving staff. Seeing that so many of them have been with Carlton for five, ten, and even more years says everything about the culture you've created. That kind of dedication can't be taught. It comes from people who truly love what they do and the residents they serve. Ami, you were incredible. Your passion for Carlton, your knowledge, and the way you speak about the residents and families made such an impression on me. I was amazed by everything Carlton offers and by the genuine pride you have in your community. I chose Carlton Senior Living Sacramento because of its convenient location, excellent dining options, and the variety of care levels available. My mom, Mary, was diagnosed with early-stage dementia a few years ago. She had been doing well at home, but over time her condition progressed to the point where my siblings and I felt that assisted living or memory care would provide the support she needed. Unfortunately, she experienced a fall that resulted in a fractured left arm and required her to be transferred to a rehabilitation facility for several weeks. This incident reinforced our family's belief that she would benefit from additional support and supervision in a senior living community. I was relieved to learn that Carlton offers a wonderful middle ground for residents with early- to mid-stage dementia through their Enhanced Assisted Living progra This program gave me peace of mind knowing that my mom could thrive in a smaller, more supportive environment with increased staffing while still enjoying the independence and social opportunities of assisted living. She was not quite ready for memory care, and during my search I found that many other communities did not offer a similar option. I met with Aimee, who was incredibly helpful throughout the process. She coordinated my mom’s transition from her rehabilitation facility and made what could have been a stressful experience much easier for our family. The team at Carlton has been exceptional. Even though my mom’s dementia affects her ability to communicate her needs, the staff know her routine well and provide thoughtful, personalized care. Every time I visit, I am greeted by friendly, caring team members who clearly have a genuine interest in the well-being of the residents Dionne has been especially wonderful. On move-in day, she took the time to introduce my mom to the staff and other residents, helping her feel welcomed and comfortable from the start. Most importantly, when I visit, my mom seems happy, engaged, and well cared for. That means everything to me and my family.

It was a very difficult decision to move my dad into an assisted living community, especially since I live out of town and he would be separated from my mom, who is independent but could no longer meet all of his care needs Navigating the process was stressful, but the team at Carlton was amazing. Felix and Aimee took the lead and guided us through every step, making the transition as smooth as possible. The care has been outstanding. The staff are friendly, attentive, and truly pay attention to the details. My dad can be very demanding and difficult to please, so hearing him say that he loves living there absolutely made my day. Communication is very important to me, and the Carlton team has been excellent at keeping me informed and updated. My mom visits frequently and quickly grew to love the community as well. In fact, a few weeks later, she called me and asked if she could move into Carlton too! She is now a resident and enjoys the amenities and spending time with my dad every day. I would highly recommend Carlton Senior Living because of the exceptional staff and the compassion they show not only to my parents but to all of their residents

The staff was welcoming and helpful throughout the entire process. This was the third facility we toured, and after meeting with Aimee, we finally found exactly what we were looking for. My mom lives at Carlton Senior Living and we’ve had such a positive experience there. The staff are wonderful, caring, patient, and always so kind to the residents. The food is great, and my mom has made a lot of friends with both the residents and staff. Before moving in, my mom was isolated and a little depressed, and she really did not want to make the move. But Carlton completely changed her life. She’s happier, more social, and now says moving there was the best decision she ever made. Our family is very grateful for the care and community they’ve given her.

Hats off to Carlton Senior Living for their exceptional care, customer service and attention to details. Aimee Beck helped out with a fast move in, into their "Crown Plaza" community when I had a client that needed to be discharged from Greenhaven Skilled Nursing quickly. They helped get paperwork taken care quickly, hospice services in touch with me, etc. with minimal workload on my end. Every time I visit the building is clean, smells good, staff are friendly and helpful. People came in from all departments to introduce themselves to my Client and make sure she had everything she needed. I have worked with this company since 2009 and have nothing but positive things to say about them.

Making the decision to move her into assisted living wasn’t easy, but this community has truly given our family peace of mind. The staff is caring, attentive, and always treats residents with kindness and respect. The community is consistently clean, welcoming, and feels much more like a home than a facility. One thing that really stands out is the transportation team ” the drivers are fantastic. Love Travels

This review is for the Courtyard side. We had kept Carlton Senior Living Sacramento in our back pocket ever since my father passed away. Now that my mom is getting older and needs more care, we knew it was time to come back to Carlton. Mom is settling in really well, and even though she needs more assistance, I truly feel this is the best fit for her. My job requires frequent travel, and with my mom’s doctor appointments, I can’t always be there. What gives me so much peace of mind is being able to call and reach out to their Liaison”she truly gets it. She not only helps get things done, but also recommends transportation options outside of the shuttle schedule when needed. She schedules and arranges the transport and makes sure my mom has an escort. This level of care and attention has greatly eased my worries, and I’m very grateful for the support Carlton provides.

Carlton Atrium is consistently inconsistent! My loved one has been there for 8 months. Everything started off well, then there was a sudden lack of care. My loved one was left sitting for long periods of time, not being clean up properly - once they even forgot to provide an evening meal. The call button we pay extra for, often doesn’t function well or a care partner clears the call without actually checking in on my loved one. Most recently, I called asking that my loved one receive assistance to getting ready for me to pick them up, 2.5 hours before I arrived. When I got there, not only was my loved one not dressed, their brief was soaked and soiled, hair uncombed and their lunch was sitting in their room from hours earlier. My loved one told me the person assigned to them that day had barely checked in on them. It took me well over 1/2 hr to get my loved one cleaned up, dressed ready to go and we nearly missed the family event I was taking them to. Because of Carlton’s negligence, we had to skip dinner to make take the event, and eat after the event (after 9:00 pm). When I returned my loved one that evening, the care partner assigned wasn’t trained or briefed on my loved one’s evening needs. I had to give directions on what to do and who to call to assist them. I have had several meetings with various members of leadership, internal and corporate. The truth of the matter is, they charge you for EVERYTHING, and have poorly trained staff that does the bare minimum at best. The turn over is high, so the consistency of care is poor. And frankly, some simply don’t care or are dismissive of concerns expressed. If your loved one needs more than basic care or minimal assistance, think twice about this place. Elevated care has been similar to what my family experienced with a state ran facility. You’re paying thousands of dollars for activities, not real consistent care.

When I began visiting assisted living facilities for my mom several months ago, Carlton Senior Living stood out as the best place for her to live not only safely but also to maintain much of her independence. Even though it took time for her to warm up to the idea of moving from her home in the Bay Area, where she had lived for 20 years, to an assisted living facility in Sacramento, she moved into Carlton 6 weeks ago and is now more content with her life than she's been in a very long time. She repeatedly tells me the staff is absolutely wonderful and helps her with whatever she needs with the utmost care, compassion, dignity and respect. Whenever she talks to any of the staff, she knows she is all that matters to them at that time and feels heard and valued. She also raves about the food. Honestly, I've never seen her eat as well as she has since moving into Carlton. As a result, she feels so much better both physically and emotionally. She has more energy throughout the day and loves participating in many different activities including those she never had an interest in before. My own experience with Carlton staff has been nothing short of amazing. Moving my mom into Carlton is the first time I've dealt with a senior living facility. I believe this experience has been so successful because everyone at Carlton has been there each step of the way with endless patience and open hearts. I'm deeply grateful to everyone at Carlton, and I think the text my mom sent me a couple of days ago says it best: "I love my life here beyond the moon!"

My 95-year-old mother was a resident at the Atrium at Carlton Senior Living for three weeks. Unfortunately, my mother passed away after a brief hospitalization, followed by her return to the Atrium on hospice care. I would like to complement all of the staff “ maintenance, kitchen, nursing, care partners, med techs, housekeeping“ for making my mothers brief stay as comfortable as possible. I would also like to thank them for their professional, kind and compassionate attitude towards my mother. The staff made a difficult situation a little easier for my husband and myself. We would highly recommend Carlton sr Living to family and friends looking for care for their loved one.
