After living 9 years in the independent living unit at Aston Gardens, my mother at age 95 just relocated to assisted living. What a beautiful place filled with beautiful workers who enjoy what they do and do it well. Two that come to mind are Melanie and Ally. I am always greeted with smiles and a nice welcome. My mother is very well taken care of and I have peace of mind. Thank you to all the staff!!

Moving a parent to an assisted living facility can be a difficult challenge but the folks at Aston Gardens Parkland were extremely helpful and were patient with us thru the entire process. Rita and Derrick literally worked with us for months while we toured options and figured out the best fit for our mother. Once we decided to move forward, everyone at Aston continued to help us thru the steps. Our mother is all moved in now and is raving about how good the food is and how nice and helpful the people are. She is even enjoying the live music, trivia games etc and is making friends. I definitely recommend this facility!

Derrick Milhouse is the Senior Lifestyle Counselor at Aston Gardens. He went above and beyond to help my family to find me an apartment at Aston Gardens. I am grateful for all his assistance, flexibility and kindness throughout the process. I live in Boston and have not yet arrived in Florida. I look forward to meeting him when I join the Aston Gardens community so I can thank him in person. He went above and beyond to make a complicated transition run smoothly.

Placing a parent into assisted living is never an easy task. Even during the best of times, when our loved ones are mobile and of sound mind, it's a grueling and emotional undertaking with lots of moving parts. There are many things to think of such as location, the size of the facility, the number of staff, quality of the apartments, and of course, cost. When my mom fell for the dozenth time in the middle of the night, there was no question about her next move after she was discharged from rehab. My wife and I needed her to be in a safe place that provided the care that she needed and was close by. We also had to work fast because her discharge from rehab was just days away and there was no way she could go back to her home by herself. Once I made the decision to move my mom into assisted living, we utilized the services of a Senior Placement Consultant, who took us to over a half dozen facilities within a ten-mile radius of our home. While some of them checked all of the boxes, none came as close as The Inn at Aston Gardens. My wife and I were impressed the second we walked through the doors, from the cleanliness and decor of the buildings, to the staff that we met with to discuss my mom’s situation, Rita and Derrick. A tour of the Inn impressed us enough to place a deposit on the spot. The move-in was easy and my mom’s new care managers came by to introduce themselves, as well as senior staff and the nursing team. Since my mom was wheelchair bound, we opted for the optional escort service to get her to and from the dining room and recreational areas. This was money well spent. It took about a month for my mom to get fully acclimated to her new routine and environs, and in that time started mingling and made a few new friends. Much to my surprise, she started engaging with the daily activities early on to the point where she was out of her apartment from 8:30am until 7:30pm. The care that my mother received at The Inn exceeded expectations. A lot of this was due to the onsite physician, Dr Hadeed, Lori the nurse and Alice, nursing head. But there are many more people that I need to recognize and thank: Melanie Rivera, the Administrator. During our tour of The Inn, we bumped into Melanie in the hallway, where she introduced herself. She was eager to answer all of our questions, no matter how mundane, such as package delivery. Melanie is a true professional and is beloved by all. Allyson Katz, Director of Recreation. Allyson was the first to point out that my mom was participating in events and was settling in. Finding Allyson is easy because she’s always around and displaying a big smile. Kathleen, Activities Director. I feared that my mom would resist partaking in activities, but Kathleen got her involved. As it turned out, my mom became very active in all daily activities, thanks to Kathleen. One of my fears of an assisted living facility was frequent employee turnover. When I voiced this concern, I was informed that a lot of the staff have been with Aston for well over 20 years. After getting to know some of the employees, they did in fact confirm the number of years they have been with the company, some as long as 25 years. Sadly, my mom eventually passed on and everyone at The Inn who came in contact with her were saddened. Exiting the agreement was easy, and a refund for the remainder of the unused month was issued. I would not hesitate to recommend Aston Gardens to anyone who needs an assisted living facility for themselves or a loved one. It is top-notch.

My wife and I were shown around Aston Gardens on two different times, by Rita Armstrong, the Director of Sales. Rita proved to be a very patient, knowledgeable and sincere person. She answered all of our questions as she toured us around and at the same time acknowledging the guests as we passed them. Mist of what we saw was to our liking and the ball is in our court to make a decision.

I was helping my sister find the perfect place with Independent Living and found Aston Gardens.Five stars doesn't come close to the number of stars I would rate my visit. I felt so welcomed the moment I stepped into the lobby.. I came for some information and was able to get more than that. The Senior Director of Sales, Rita Armstrong, made herself available to spend as much time as needed to walk thru the Aston program. She was thorough, thoughtful and sincerely caring. She then preceded to take me on a complete tour of the building, rooms and grounds. She left no stones unturned! The whole atmosphere was upbeat and cheerful at every turn. The residents were all engaged in some type of activity with smiles, and gave me a thumbs up to join them.I can't express my appreciation enough to Rita for her dedication and professionalism in helping my sister make this the perfect choice! With gratitude, Christina Ciancia

I toured the facility as a potential spot for my mom and I left feeling jealous that I couldn’t live there as well! They offer a wide range of amenities and activities, and everything was incredibly maintained. It felt like living at a resort, and we certainly noticed how happy all of the residents we encountered seemed to be. This place is the right balance of comfort, independence, and assisted living. Definitely check this one out!

My parents moved into independent living at Aston Gardens over the summer and absolutely love it! Rita was amazing and instrumental in finding them an apartment after they turned down one earlier because of bad timing. The buildings and grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The staff is warm and welcoming. The separate dining room is bright and lively and the food is delicious with three dinner options. The waiters are young, adorable and attentive. There are beautiful walking trails and lovely outside common areas. Look no further. I promise you will love Aston Gardens and this very special community. Lori from CT

I had an incredible experience going through the process of finding Independent Living for my loved one at Aston Gardens with Rita. As many know, this can be a stressful, overwhelming, uncertain time both for caregivers and their loved ones who need to make the important decision to enter into an adult community, independent living or ALF to simplify things. Rita walked me through the process seamlessly, was extremely knowledgeable, understanding and empathetic and addressed all of our concerns. I’m excited for my loved one’s new chapter and I’m confident that I’ve found a happy, encouraging community where my loved one will be supported. Thank you to Rita and everyone who helps to make Aston Gardens run. The staff and residents have been warm and welcoming. We are looking forward to a bright new chapter!

We recently toured Aston Gardens with Rita and were truly impressed by Rita’s friendliness, connectedness, and knowledge of the complex process of moving our loved one into a new apartment. Because Rita is such an excellent coordinator, we were able to relax amidst a challenging time. We can’t thank her enough for her kindness and support. Rita in the sales office was AMAZING! she was just a great resource as we explored various communities. My parents ended up choosing a different options since Ashton did not have availability but the place seems lovely.
April 2024
My parents have lived here for almost 4 years. The staff truly cares about their residents. I visit often and see how they are with all of the residents. Of course, you need to be involved. You cannot bring your loved one here, drop them off, and expect everything to be moonbeams and rainbows. Aston Gardens does their part, but as relatives, we need to do our part too and stay involved. These folks have helped me through so much! There are people working here that make a difference. Allyson Katz is AMAZING!! My mother has dementia and it’s getting very bad. Allyson helps her more than I could ever imagine! So many people have been there for years and years. Seeing that longevity matters too! Some notable people that I would like to acknowledge and show my sincere appreciation for: Melanie- Thank you for everything. Your encouragement has meant so much!! Ivonne- keep that sweet and kind disposition, you’re amazing! Lori- one of the nurses, keeps you informed and takes the time to show empathy and connect with you as a person. Kathleen- thank you. I appreciate your friendliness and compassion. There are so many people working here that are so amazing. I’ve recently spent many hours in the building helping my parents with a transition, I’ve seen what these people do. It was the BEST decision my parents have made.
April 2024
Aston Gardens is amazing. My mother has been in the Assisted Living apartments for a year and a half and I could not be happier with her level of care. Melanie, Allyson and Kathleen, as well as the entire nursing staff treat my mother as if she were their own. I honestly sleep better at night knowing that my mother is cared for, loved and kept safe around the clock. If you have to make the difficult decision to move a loved one into an assisted living facility, I highly recommend Aston Gardens.
April 2024

Aston Gardens is a beautiful facility and the care and attention to detail shows in the grounds and the staff.
April 2024
I knew Aston Gardens in Parkland from my home healthcare job as well as from my sister’s Non profit company who helps with activities at Aston Gardens. When my mom decided to move to Independent Living both my sister and I knew there was only one place to visit with mom. My mom loved Aston Gardens after meeting with Rita and Yasmin. We all knew this was the place to be. From day one to the move in to the present they all have made mom feel so at home. They helped her to make friends and answer all questions we have. It has the feel of a resort and meets her needs for both safety and comfort. We highly recommend Aston Gardens in Parkland.

I currently live in another senior living community. A friend in the same community is moving to Aston Gardens because she isn't happy where we are. Recently she invited me to have lunch and go on a tour of Aston Gardens, with the hope that I might want to relocate there too. To say that I was impressed is an understatement. From the moment I arrived, to saying goodbye to Rita Armstrong, I was blown away! The ambience, food and service made me feel as if I was in a restaurant or at a country club rather than at a "facility." Rita showed me around and things got even better. The activity and other common areas and staff whom I met were above and beyond what I expected. I am ambulatory and not mentally impaired, so I would have access to the Grande Clubhouse for Independent Living residents--although I would need to live in an Assisted Living apt. to obtain the care I require. Because they are all occupied, I wasn't able to see one. I only had a floor plan. I saw some drawbacks about the unit there (for me personally, such as a smaller space than I am accustomed to, no in-unit washer/dryer like I now have (although I would have laundry service), no full kitchen because on occasion I still enjoy cooking, and higher rent/care costs. But I put myself on the waiting list since I have nothing to lose. If I refuse an Assisted Living apartment when it becomes available to me, I can get a full refund of my deposit. The pluses at THIS community far outweigh those where I currently reside. I saw and experienced greater quality, a better location, more professionalism and so much more! I am seriously considering moving to Aston Gardens in the future.
February 2024
I’d like to thank Rita Armstrong and the entire staff at Aston Gardens. Rita went above and beyond to ensure that my mom felt welcomed and valued throughout our initial visit. Her expertise and dedication was apparent from the moment we met. Moreover, the entire staff at Aston Gardens demonstrated a level of hospitality that exceeded my expectations. From the friendly smiles at the reception to the amazing nurses and attentive service in the dining area, every team member has worked hard to make my mother’s stay enjoyable and comfortable. I highly recommend Rita and Aston Gardens! Thanks for everything!

I am a resident Aston Gardens for 5 month’s now. I am so grateful for Rita Armstrong. She has been my rock for 5 years, until I finally made a decision to make Aston Gardens my home forever more. The staff has been exemplary for myself and the other residents here. They make us so comfortable and put the extra effort in every day to give us a fabulous experience in a homey atmosphere.

Rita Armstrong was very helpful and the staff overall are hard working and dedicated to the residents, which is very important when it comes to your loved ones.
January 2024
My mom is a resident at The Inn at Aston Gardens - the assisted living side. We worked with Rita, who was terrific to work with. She assisted us with the entire move-in process. Mom and I are both so impressed by the quality of the staff. The care managers are wonderful. It is a real tribute to whoever does the hiring, because they are all truly kind and compassionate. The nursing staff is also top-notch - Julie, Lori and the entire nursing team. The daily activities are managed by Ally and Kathleen, who are passionate about what they do. They focus on planning thoughtful activites that engage all of the residents. This is a quote from my mom, I feel so cared for and loved. Four of my former co-workers have family members there as well, and two of my neighbors have family on the Independent side. So, if you are looking for a wonderful place to care for aging parents, look no further.
January 2024
Just want to thank Rita for being so compassionate, professional and truly caring about the residents at Aston Gardens Parkland. My mom moved there over a year ago and it was the best decision we made. Her apartment is lovely, the staff, from the people who drive the trolleys to the director are all very considerate and available to discuss any concerns. The only thing we regret is that she didn’t move sooner!
December 2023
I was very impressed with my tour of Aston Gardens. The residence is bright, cheerful and very clean. The grounds were spacious and even had a putting green area. The large pool area had plenty of chaises. The apartments that were part of the tour were roomy with plenty of closets and each umit had their own washer and dryer. There were loads of amenities. The tour included a delicious lunch with easy conversations with the staff. All of my current questions were answered on the spot. I left there favorably impressed.

Navigating dementia with a loved one is confusing, frustrating, and overwhelmingly sad. I spent a year searching for assistance for my mother as her memory deteriorated and could no longer take care of her daily needs. I'm incredibly relieved that she is living at Aston Gardens Assisted Living. It's a very nice place. There is staff working around the clock. The residents are assisted based on their needs. They all go to the dining room for meals and, between meals, there is always an activity to participate in. In addition, and it's a huge factor for me, you will see friendly faces the moment you walk in the door. In closing, I know that my mother is safe, fed and wants for nothing. I couldn't be more relieved. If you need someone to talk to about your similar experience, you're welcome to reach out.
October 2023
From the first time we visited Aston Gardens, every staff member has been helpful and attentive in getting Mom situated in her new place! Aston Gardens is very well kept, including their beautiful clubhouse and serving staff. They know everyone by name, and always have a warm greeting for my family each time we visit!!
October 2023
Our experience with Aston Gardens has been nothing but positive. From our first meeting with Rita Armstrong; touring the facility, seeing the model and dining in the clubhouse-she is a treasure! My Mom is happier than she has been since my Father passed away years ago. Both the employees and the residents have made her feel so welcome! My Mom has been playing canasta, Rumi cube, Zumba, and walking around the lake, meeting her "friends" for meals that she says are DELICIOUS! She has changed her sleep patterns; going to bed earlier so she can wake up earlier because she cannot wait to get to the clubhouse. I know my Mom is happy and being watched over by people that care about her-thank you to the entire staff from my entire family!!
October 2023
My 89 year old mom has been living at Aston Gardens at Parkland and we both couldn't be happier. The staff are outstanding, caring, professional and always ready to go the extra mile. Instead of isolating in her old condo, mom has made friends, participates in social activities, and I am no longer in fear of her falling or not taking her daily medications. Communications with the facility have been excellent. She gets 3 nutritious meals daily (not including snacks) and has a beauty shop right on the premises. It is always a difficult choice to find a place for one's parents, but I know I made the right decision.
August 2023
My mom lived her final chapter in the memory support unit. The care and attend our Edith received is beyond commendable. We were lucky to have the community there behind us because they worked so closely with the residents families, we were supported, too. Mom was over 100.

A Beautiful community! The residents are all smiles!

A relative of ours was looking for an independent living facility in California and could not find anything in his budget. He had just had some health problems and his outlook on life was bleak. We looked around for him in South Florida to be near us and he came to Aston Gardens based on how we loved it. Turns out Aston Gardens is so much better than anything we had considered in California or Orlando! Aston Gardens has definitely made a huge difference for him: he’s happier than I’ve ever see him! He’s always talking about his friends at Aston Gardens now; he sings in their music group; he goes gallivanting around Ft. Lauderdale with one of his friends; he meets at others’ homes for birthdays and holidays. Someone is throwing him a birthday party this coming week and 18 people are coming. He just went to another person’s birthday party at a swanky restaurant. I was impressed that his friends raised funds to help Ukraine and they do other civic minded activities. The local high school has s Christmas parade on golf carts through their community. The synagogue nearby gave the residents gifts for Purim this past year. It’s a wonderful community. He was so excited when the dining room was remodeled and bragged on it, so I went to take pictures of it. Tee and Addie, the staff today, welcomed me to the dining area and added that they were proud of their gym, concert room and games area also. Tee and Addie knew my relative by name and by what they said I could tell the staff here cares about residents here. Aston Gardens is situated pretty near to a shopping center to the north. South of it are all the stores and restaurants and shops you could ever wish for. It’s a very nice area of town. When my husband and I moved to Orlando we toured other independent living facilities with our relative but he decided to stay at Aston Gardens. His friends told him they would miss him and I think that means so much to him. We couldn’t be happier that he moved to Aston Gardens. We hope it continues to stay as wonderful as it has been.

Aston Gardens at Parkland is an answer for so many of our needs. Rita Armstrong worked diligently to ensure that we were able to see all of the apartments that would best suit our physical needs. She continued to contact me updating me on the terrific plans and renovations that have been done on the buildings in the grounds and we celebrate living in this community now and making new friends every day. Kudos to Rita for all her hard work! We are blessed.

Rita Armstrong was outstanding through out the process of getting a unit and moving in my Dad. They really are so friendly and helpful! My Dad after 1 week said he should have moved there 5 years earlier. Stress free living!

Aston Gardens at Parkland Commons is a top notch Assisted Living option for your parent's golden years. Every star is well earned, from the staff, to the amenities, and the overall cleanliness of the properties. I can't say enough positive things from the moment you walk in for the initial meeting with counselors, to the administration, and the nursing care. A huge thank you to Ana McKinney, Melanie Riveria, and Julie Cooper and the entire AG staff that is making our Father's time there blessed and he is truly happy.

I can’t say enough about Aston Gardens in Parkland and the excellent care that my Mom, Beulah Kaplan received during the 11 1/2 months that she lived in the memory care facility. It all started with Ana McKinney, who laughed and cried with me and went above and beyond to assist me with the move in process. Then Julie Cooper came to my Mom’s apartment to assess her and my Mom loved her and told her so at the end of the first meeting. Julie always kept me informed of any changes in Mom’s health and safety. Lori Nicolaison also went above and beyond to manage my Mom’s meds and also kept me informed of any changes. Allyson Katz did a phenomenal job of planning activities for the residents and sending me so many pictures of my Mom singing and dancing. The staff members at Aston Gardens treated my Mom with so much love, kindness and compassion. Melanie Rivera is a true professional and kept us informed with weekly updates about the residents’ vaccinations. When I had trouble signing my Mom up for the booster shot, Melanie assured me that if I was unable to complete the application, she would assist me on my next visit to complete the application online. She is a great asset to Aston Gardens. This facility could not function so well and be so successful without the great leadership of Sue Butler. Thank you all so much for making the last year of my Mom’s life so memorable and for treating my Mom like she was your own Mom. I will forever be grateful. Sincerely, Laurie Byrnes

Sue and her team have done a wonderful job of keeping the independent living residents safe during the pandemic. My dad and his friends are happy and well-fed. It seems that they are following the rules as things begin to open up in South Florida. Thank you for the many emails- great communication with families!

My mother has been a resident at Parkland Commons for almost 2 years and has been delighted from the first minute. Early during the Covid-19 pandemic, Aston Gardens mapped out a long-term strategy to sanitize the apartments and common areas of the facility, maintain social distancing and limit visitors to the complex. In addition, on a day-to-day basis, the management has attended to every detail of the residents' needs to insure that they are healthy, well-fed, well-informed and safe. Even though I cannot travel to visit my mother, It is a great comfort to know that she is healthy and extremely happy.

This is a nice facility with great activities employees And great HB front desk staff BUT it’s only level 1 care so if your parents or you have any issues with walking or long term issues that will deteriorate over time, they will give you 45 day notice, which means go find a nursing home , which means you just spent years paying 4K a month out of pocket and could have found a more transitional facility like Harbor Chase, with a level 4 care so your loved one can transition. My mother in law was at Aston Gardens for almost 4 years at the end they gave us 45 day notice and now she is in a nursing home and lost. I was not a fan of the director of nursing while he was very professional he would always say I support my caregivers 100% even though the caregivers didn’t always give 100%, being honest my mother in law was not a cup of tea either but you still expect the caregivers to be kind and that was debatable. She was hospitalized 4 times, twice with stitches. Most caregivers were nice, not all. The nursing staff were wonderful, but only 3 RNs and very overwhelmed, the Dr is only in once a week so if mom has a cough your waiting till the following week or getting over the counter meds because again they only have a level 1 license. Overall my mother in laws experience was good but If I had to do it again I would choose a facility that has a higher level of care so I didn’t worry as much and she could have transitioned at the same place as needed.
