From the moment you arrive, you feel genuinely well cared for. Complimentary valet parking, warm greetings at the door, and a beautiful, modern interior set the tone for an exceptional experience. The Sales Director and Executive Director were both remarkably helpful and accommodating, taking the time to answer every question with care. The urban location offers easy access to everything San Francisco has to offer, while the facility itself feels like a high-end hotel. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the stunning rooftop and pool to the well-equipped gym. The activities, dining, and services are exactly what you would want for a loved one, and the studio designs are among the best I have seen. Overall, this is a community that combines thoughtful hospitality with elegant design, and I would recommend it without hesitation.

Thank you to the fabulously amazing team who took incredible care of my mother, enabling her joyous valued freedom and independence every moment. The facilities are wonderful, beautifully designed and well cared for. Everything is thought of diverse quality foods, cultural events and inclusive of all family types. Roof top gardens with expansive views, for pets too, exercise room and pool are a sanctuary and spa like. Worth every penny, so grateful the option even exists. My mom loved it there and I looked forward to visiting her there too! Valet parking and free car service built in. The neighborhood is a little rough, yet transit, JapanTown and the Opera are all nearby.

Went on a scouting mission to Coterie cathedral hill for my parents, who are getting up there in age and wow. The facilities are amazing. I’ve got a friend who parents live here that recommended it to us, but didn’t really expect it to be so nice. Gym, had everything you could want, views of downtown everywhere, and the common rooms were done to the nines. The folks running the facility were so nice, and really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We chatted with a couple of the residents and they gushed about the staff, which I took a took as a huge positive. We tried a meal at one of the dining rooms, and it felt just like we were out at a nice restaurant. Food was quite good, and it looked like the residents were enjoying themselves. Best part, through were the rooms. Really nice, and again those views. I don’t have the final say for my folks, but this is where I want to be.

Our mom lived at the Coterie 2.5 years, beginning in October 2022. The place is beautiful, and has all the amenities of a luxury cruise ship, with kind staff in crisp uniforms. It’s a great place unless and until you need assisted living. We paid a premium to have Coterie’s extra care for medication management, the ability to call for help when needed, a staff to check her vitals, etc. Unfortunately, there were countless times when meds were late, or she called for help and no one came. I’d get calls that she was out of meds, which would create an urgent situation (THEY are supposed to refill the meds, not me). One night they sent her to the ER, and no one called me! Another time we took her out, with her meds provided by staff, and later got a call that they gave us the wrong meds! It simply wasn’t sustainable to safely keep her at the Coterie. We suspect the problem came from the high staff turnover. Excellent concierge members such as Valerie, Jack, Colin “ gone. Or the head of nursing, Shirley, who suddenly left, and so many others. They were constantly short-staffed, and the pressure on the remaining staff was apparent. In fairness, I want to give a shout-out to Jimmy the nurse, who was SO helpful when things went awry, and to John in Concierge who went out of his way to get mom in the middle of the night from the ER - THANK YOU to both of them! Other issues were less dire “ the restaurant with service so slow, on 3 separate occasions, family members simply cancelled their orders and left. And the menu which says it’s approved by the Mayo Clinic, but there are few plant-based, heart-healthy choices. We moved mom out, and she’s happier, and so are we.

I moved my mother here from Ohio to be closer to me. I looked at many places around the entire Bay Area. Coterie was by far the most impressive facility. It has been 2 years and she and I are extremely pleased. The only downside may be the neighborhood, but for my mother of 95 years old it doesn’t come into play. The residence really have a great time with so much activities at their fingertips. I also like the no down payment. A great perk for us is the staff help get my mother’s long term care policy active which the other home was not helpful at all. I feel blessed.

The Memory Care manager, Christina Gonzalez, and the rest of the staff associated with the daily operations of the Memory Care floor do a great job taking care of all the residents under their care. I greatly appreciate all they do to try and provide the best living experience possible for my mother. Just the other day Christina volunteered to take my mom and a few of the other Memory Care residents to the S.F. opera to see Swan Lake. My mom has always loved going to the opera, but she hadn't gone in a long time because of her declining mental capacity due to Alzheimer's. She gave us a lot of push-back about going, but as I knew she would, she had a great time; and the experience has reinvigorated her into letting us take her out of the Coterie Community to watch/go to other shows and performances that we know she'll enjoy.

Over the years, I have seen many types of assisted living and memory care locations, mostly heartbreaking. So when it came time to find a place for my aunt, I was not looking forward to the task. I checked out many places, but as soon as I walked into Coterie, I knew I found the place. The staff laugh and smile to each other and the residents, and remember people's names. So many of the residents are there primarily for community, still with so much life to live. Even the memory care floor felt energized and connected. The amenities are wonderful (tasty food, seriously wonderful musicians play in the bar, varied cinema programming), but the real key here is the staff. Izem was super-patient working with my aunt to set up her TV just how she needed it. Stephanie was super-sweet doing the home visit to confirm fit into the community. Collin was always reassuring during my frequent visits to get my aunt set up and settled in. It's so good that when my friend and I were going in and out setting up the apartment, we started to daydream about being able to stay there ourselves in the future...

I'm so glad we found Coterie and moved my dad in last year. The memory care (MC) director Christina Gonzalez and her incredible staff are caring, patient, and fun, and they see this challenging(!) line of work as a calling. My dad enjoys all the live music and activities, especially tai chi, floral arrangements, and cardio drumming. Whenever the MC residents' families come together for support group meetings, we inevitably talk about how we all want to move ourselves into this amazing facility”that's high praise! My dad also enjoys being taken to the assisted living (AL) side of Coterie. He especially loves the live music in the piano bar, watching movies in the cinema with fresh popcorn, and working on a big puzzle in the club room. On warm days, he likes to pick out a book from the library and read it by the rooftop pool, reclining in a chaise lounge. My dad's friends and relatives always enjoy visiting and eating with him at Coterie. Ruth Mendoza and the amazing culinary team serve up delicious & nutritious food, and they make both residents and guests feel special and cared for. Thanksgiving 2023 at Coterie was the absolute best meal I've ever had! My dad and I also love all the special events and parties that Coterie hosts. My dad's favorite was an impressive(!) tango dance performance in the courtyard. My favorite was when they brought a petting zoo to the rooftop. We got to pet and feed sliced apples to a pig, a goat, geese, and lots of bunnies and guinea pigs. 100% adorable. Besides all the fun (and Coterie really is a fun place to hang out), I value having a nurse on site 24/7 as well as 24/7 access to Sollis Health urgent care on the first floor. The nurses at Coterie are incredible care partners! I could go on and on about the bizillion things I appreciate about Coterie, but I'll stop here. We moved our mom into memory care at Coterie four months ago and feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful home for her. Every day is well organized with numerous activities that keep her active- from tai chi, foosball, and chair yoga to a constant schedule of live music: harpist, piano player, and singers. I am also pleased with the quality of the food they serve. Snack time is often a blueberry smoothie, avocado toast, or freshly popped popcorn. I also see how they adjust the main meals to support the different needs of their residents. The Staff is incredible and professional. From the concierge/valet to the caregivers, I am constantly supported by the most amazing and kind people. Christina, head of memory care, has been wonderful in her communications about my mom's needs and is always available for a check-in. Her positive energy and knowledge about dementia care have truly helped us not feel alone as we find the best way to support our mom.

When a friend of ours exhibited memory issues, we looked at numerous places where she could move so she would be safe and well cared for. We are very thankful that we found Coterie. It is so much nicer than any other facility we visited, although it is more expensive. The building is beautiful so it is enjoyable and comfortable for her friends to visit. Also the staff is excellent, especially the Memory Care Director and her staff. She pays attention to the needs of each individual and is aware of the resident’s needs, preferences and abilities. When problems arise, such as a fall or an illness, I am notified immediately. It’s not a one size fits all. When we visit, there are always group activities offered and the residents can choose whether or not to participate. We also appreciate that we can take a Memory Care resident to the main dining room or bar and share a meal with her there. We’ve had some very nice times with her there. I would highly recommend the Memory Care unit at Coterie.

I’m happy here. I find the staff, food, activities very delightful. We have many classes a day that I find enjoyable, I’m a bridge player and we have a community of very knowledgeable players. I also enjoy reading books and sharing them in the book club. They do a good job of keeping us busy. I find it a lovely place to spend my senior years.

Excellent Care at Coterie Cathedral Hill In November, I suffered a serious fall, compromising my mobility severely. Returning to my apartment to live alone after leaving the hospital was not possible. After investigating several places, my family selected Coterie for my recovery experience. I had not even visited before I arrived there for what was to be a ten-week stay. The staff and residents are friendly, warm, and caring Within two days, it seemed that everyone who worked there greeted me by name. The facilities are beyond immaculate. The food, available continuously from 7:00 am till past 7:30 pm is varied , delicious and graciously provided by servers who respond to every request by saying either "absolutely" or "of course". Mercedes cars are available to go to a doctor appointment or the theatre. I attribute my present well being to the nurturing care I received at Coterie. The many activities, and excursions mean you do not need assisted living support to enjoy living at Coterie.

The Coterie came into our lives as if by design. It was new and we had new needs that we couldn't solve through other options. The people, the facility, and the operations combine to create a sense of "home" in a resort-sort-of-way. Coterie has been nothing short of amazing to my Grandmother and our family. It is an extremely difficult time, but with Coterie, we know Grandma is in great hands and receiving the care she deserves and needs. Coterie is not only a beautiful place with regards to decor, but they take exceptional care of their residents. The staff do a great job at arranging for activities and events for her and the other floor residents to participate in and remain engaged. My grandma talks about how she looks forward to those activities and that they make her day. My Aunt is a resident at this facility. it's a nice place, well appointed and well run; the front desk personnel are helpful and professional. The nursing staff work effectively to support the residents. The internal restaurants serve pretty good food. Lunch at the main restaurant is a pleasant experience.

I did not have much enthusiasm for other senior living places I visited. I learned about Coterie’s offerings, had a hard hat tour, and signed up while the building was still under construction! My delight at living at Coterie doesn’t stem from a single moment or event. It comes from being in a warm, friendly environment, where I can swim when I please, eat delicious food I don’t have to cook, and know I have help if I need it. I have lived alone for years and enjoy it; Coterie lets me have my alone time, as well as fun times. I recently entertained a prospective new resident who happened to be here for Drag Queen Trivia night. She said, Well, this is a fun place! Then there was the over-the-top Casino Night, where many of us had a reason to stay up past 7:00 and gamble with our friends. Another highlight was New Year’s Eve, when some of us decided to go formal for the party. And you are free to choose your level of involvementit’s perfect!

This is a wonderful place. Light, modern, generously designed with great care, with a chill senior apartment lifestyle combined with help when needed and lovely modern kitchens as well as a great dining room and restaurant for three meals a day for those who prefer not to cook, and a remarkably lovely gathering of neighbors. In addition, there are at least two films a day, lectures and resident-generated programming and classes. Never in my wildest dreams had I imagined living in a place like Coterie. I had thought that perhaps in my 80’s I would consider a senior residence when I could no longer be able to be on my own. Well, after visiting Coterie, interacting with the staff and some of the residents I decided that I could continue my life as it was but much more enriched. Here I feel welcomed, while engaging in the interesting and varied activities and events. It feels like a vacation! The staff is so dedicated to the well being of the residents: always willing to help with anything, always pleasant and loving. This place is amazing! We were looking a for a place for a very active family member and had been to a few other communities. Coterie truly set itself apart from the competition. Upon entry they valeted our car & had a beautiful Mercedes sitting in the front entrance, ready for all resident's trips. They have a Limo just for residents! We walked in to discover they had a harp player in the lobby setting the perfect ambiance for our entry. Then we were escorted into the 4th floor for our tour, where The Wellness Team spoke to us all about the wide scope of services they offer, along side the senior staff/directors stopped in to offer insights as to why Coterie is unique. A vivacious member from the Engange Life Team showed me how they would keep residents involved & active. To make matters more delicious, light bites with incredible flavors alongside mocktails were being served to all. We've been to a few swanky spots, but this experience has left us blow away. If want your loved ones in good hands, Coterie is the home away from home for you family is looking for.

I visited Coterie Cathedral Hill this weekend to see my Aunt who just moved into their wonderful community. Let me tell you...They are as luxe as it gets! From the moment I arrived everything just seem to flow, I drove in, the Valet was so friendly and offered to help me with my bags and my pup, Peaches. Upon checking in I felt so welcomed. To the front desk to every line staff I encountered they all said hello to me. The building is grand but not stuffy, they had books on modern - classical art to fashion. This is my kind of library! Folks, they have a red velvet cinema! Classic!! And ... a candy bar!! Who can top that? Her apartment is beautiful! Such amazing views from her living area to her room. I love that everything is automated, a total smart home dream. The rooftop is a must see! They even have a heated salt water pool! Pets are welcome too, they have a doggy area for my pup to play in. So much amenities, and daily activities and by the looks of it, my Aunt is truly at home. Thank you Coterie Team for making this dream a reality!
