My husband and I visited his Mom this afternoon, and she was very comfortable in her room. Laundry was being done, as promised. We had some other questions, and Ashley was able to answer them to our satisfaction. She will have her 1-month anniversary of being a community member on Sunday, June 11. It is a beautiful and caring environment at Vista Springs Wyoming.

A friend recently moved to Cortland. She is experiencing poor response times from staff (sometimes hours) and a large turnover in workers. Avg age of the aides seems to be in the late 20s. One aide overshared with my friend. Another she had to ask to stop slamming her door so loudly. Its difficult to find people in charge, particularly on the weekends. Make sure you have someone to advocate for your loved one, because you'll need it.

My mother has been a resident at Cortland for 7 months. The caring and compassionate staff help with her daily needs. My mom is a social person, and enjoys participating in the many fun scheduled activities throughout the week. She likes the delicious meals the chef prepares three times daily. It is special when families are invited to attend holiday dinners and events with their loved ones. When touring facilities before deciding on Cortland, my family was impressed with its spacious rooms, open hallways, and colorful walls. I am very happy my mom loves her new comfortable home.

From the moment my mom arrived, it was clear this assisted living community truly cares about its residents. The staff goes above and beyond every single day. Many of the residents are quiet, blue-collar folks who’ve worked hard their entire lives, and the environment here respects that”calm, steady, and kind. The building itself has long hallways, which honestly turn into a benefit. My mom gets regular walking in, stays moving, and feels independent. When she was in memory care, it was an incredibly stressful time for our family”as it always is”but the staff handled it with patience, compassion, and professionalism. Knowing she was safe and cared for made all the difference. Now that she’s in regular assisted living, she absolutely loves it. The special events and daily exercise activities are thoughtful and appropriate. No one’s going rock climbing”and that’s perfectly fine. Games like keepy-uppy may sound silly, but they get people moving, laughing, and talking to one another, which is what really matters. The food is genuinely very good. Of course, if you listen to the residents, you’d think otherwise”but I’ve learned that complaining about food is part of the job description once you reach a certain age and your taste buds start to fade. From an outsider’s perspective, the meals are well prepared and clearly made with care. Most importantly, my mom is happy here, and that says everything. This place provides not just care, but dignity, community, and peace of mind for families. I’m truly grateful for everything they do and would highly recommend this assisted living home to anyone looking for a place where their loved one will be treated with respect and kindness.

My mom lived at Cortland Wyoming for 2 1/2 years. Our experience there got better and better as time went on. Great effort was put into upgrading the facility, which is still ongoing. Most important to our family has been the addition of critical staff, both in management and care staff. A bond has been created between myself, my mother and those who cared for her. A person can tell when someone is just doing a job or is truly dedicated to the wellbeing of those they are caring for. I truly appreciate the dedication, love, concern for our comfort and assistance to meet Mom's needs as she recently passed away. It made the experience one of comfort and peace for all of us. Thank you from all of her family to our Cortland Family!

We moved my Mom in in October and it was the best decision we have ever made for her. The staff is friendly and very good at their job. They work hard to get the residents to get involved with the activities they have. They do many extra things for the residents. My Mom is very happy there. I would recommend Cortland every time someone asks for a place.

The Courtland of Wyoming is a warm and welcoming community. The team is dedicated to the residents and work together to ensure all their needs are met. Eric, the Admissions Director is knowledgeable and friendly. He makes you feel welcome the moment you walk through the door. I have assisted with many events in this community and the dedication from the Life Enrichment Team is unmatched. They host happy hour every Friday and provide fun activities and events every day. I am a honored to work closely with this exceptional team.

Quality and service are less than four years ago. New ownership has greatly decreased their member care, food & hospitality services while yet increasing the monthly payment. It’s VERY disturbing to hear mom express how unhappy she is with the lack of care she’s paying for, and the staff & director only excuse their lack of interest in addressing the issues as We’re working on that. So many times I’ve hard that phrase yet nothing gets done. I often wonder, if members don't have children or family to fight for them. Who’s paying attention to their rights/ services. I have MANY stories of sub-par service of other members while just visiting w/ mom what about those folks who don’t have regular visitorswho’s their advocate..? Would not recommend

Medication is lost or not given correctly. Numerous times I’ve had to question why my family member was not getting the medication that was ordered by the dr. The pharmacy blames Cortland and Cortland blames the pharmacy. Meantime the medication is not given until I make numerous phone calls to get them to take action. Or they say the patient was sleeping or unavailable and they would not get the needed medication that day

Beautiful place. The studio room was very nice and had room to move around. The help was never available. Assisted living had several levels but nobody could tell us why we were paying for level 3.

I researched the establishment prior to visiting with them. When we visited it just confirmed that they treated their people with compassion and kindness. We were able to observe the clients having a great time at a event they were having. And there were smiles all around.

The Cortland Wyoming is a beautiful and very clean building. Their staff is incredibly friendly, and they work so hard to care for their residents. As an outside vendor who comes into the building to help care for the residents in certain capacities, we love knowing that the residents are well cared for even when we aren't there.

I did a ton of research before a loved one moved in. I pulled audit and inspection records from the State of Michigan. i interviewed staff and residents alike. My loved one was very opposed to moving in, but the staff was SOOOOOOO supportive and my loved one (after the initial shock) LOVES it there. I worked in Healthcare and Senior Living for many years and the staff has completely blown me away with their knowledge, professionalism, and the way they interacted with my loved one. I slept soundly for the first time in weeks (possibly months) knowing my loved one was safe and happy.

Great management team! Fun and healthy activities everyday. Spacious and comfortable apartments. The Med Techs and aids make each resident and family members feel comfortable and make you feel at home. Vista Springs in Wyoming is a very nice living experience for your loved one.

The staff, caregivers, and directors care so much for their residents. Everyone is professional, kind, and excel at caring. The facility is beautiful and residents always seem happy.

This is a great facility that we found for both of my parents to live out their final days. Parents rave about the food, but even more importantly the staff. From the cleaning staff to the Facility manager, everyone seems to be equally focused on patient care. Staff calls my parents by name when they walk through the halls, making it more personal. This is a facility worth looking into. Parents had an apartment at Holland Home, but needed a 2 bedroom apartment with assisted living care. They accommodated their needs perfectly!

Vista Springs has been a wonderful place for my mom. After her stroke, she has been well taken care of. The staff is caring and wonderful. The food is good. No where is perfect, but Vista Springs does a great job. . . Much better than my experience with two other facilities I have experience with in this area. Whenever we have had a minor problem or concern, they have responded immediately and taken care of it.

I’ve had experience with several Retirement facilities. Overall, I have been very happy with the care my mother has received at this particular facility. She has made a happy transition due to the loving care she receives from her caregivers. For example, when she is in the hallway, staff smile and greet her by her first name. The reality is that no retirement home is perfect, but for the most part, my mother is clean, dressed, her room is kept clean, and any extra needs are addressed in a timely manner. The recreation staff also goes out of their way to include her in daily activities. She is happy, engaged and comfortable, which makes me happy and comfortable.

This community is absolutely gorgeous and the staff are very loving and caring. The activities are always fun and they even go on field trips to local places. I would recommend this community to anyone looking for a place for their loved one that needs Assisted Living or Memory Care services.

I have visited Vista Springs Wyoming several times and have been so impressed by the cleanliness of the facility. I am also impressed by how active the community members are. The other day they were playing "almost" beach volleyball! The laughter was infectious!

I gave this facility a five star rating seven months ago. I now lower that rating to three stars because of concerns that have not been given follow-through despite several instances of input from my physician husband regarding my mom's care. My husband is her medical power of attorney. The facility has increased her level of care status without observable improvement in care. I still think the facility is beautiful and that the activities are amazing. Some of the staff care very much, but just as many fail to execute the necessary care involved with her level. Possible reasons could be not enough managerial supervision, or understaffing. Whatever the case, mom deserves the care for which her hard earned money is used. It is a difficult decision to place your parent in assisted living. You want to be able to rest in the knowledge that somebody has your back. KVA
