My brother has been a resident at The Shores for three years. The staff is extremely kind and thoughtful. His suite is plenty large for one person and he has made it comfortable for him. The food is really good home cooking and healthy. Don likes fresh fruit and he is served as often as he likes. He has had speech ,physical , and occupational therapy and the therapist are excellent. Don considers the Shores his home and we are thrilled he has adapted and grateful to the staff for helping him with his transition.

My brother has been a resident @ the Shores of Lake Phalen for almost a year and we couldn't be more pleased with his care. My brother has a traumatic brain injury so he is unable to make appropriate decisions about his own care. The staff is very cognizant of his situation and treat him like family. We live long distances away but are kept very well apprised of his needs. The nurses keep us informed of both his health needs and moods. It is very comforting to know that he is not just a resident to them but a very much loved brother to us. His room is very nice, spacious and a little cluttered with the pieces of furniture and memorabilia that are meaningful to him. The staff are aware that before his accident he was a successful businessman, father, brother and treat him with warmth and respect. The facility is new, beautiful, and welcoming. The food exceptionally good and residents are given choices. Fresh fruit and vegetables are always on the menu as well as generous servings of other healthy foods. There are many activities should a resident choose to participate. My brother loves living at the Shores and we feel very fortunate that he is a resident there. I recommend without reservation.

My brother is a resident at The Shores of Lake Phelan and we feel he is getting very good care. He has a nice room and the employees make him feel like he is home. The food has been good and he has choices at meals. We love that "The Shores" has guest rooms and that makes it so much easier to spend more time with Don. The Shores is very nice and makes everyone feel comfortable. We are very happy our brother is here.

Its time for an update its been a year now . I do service work for a living in and out of many elderly homes and all are under staffed and the staff they do have have no compassion... those at the shores here feel more like family than friends they share the same tears we have shed for the last year in our tough situation and every single day they seem to impress me more and more. Im so greatful for them. .. if you are lucky enough to choose the shores you can rest asure your loved ones are in good hands. ... (Original post)... Most people are quick to post negatives at elderly living. We definitely had our doubts based on price alone (what could give so much cheaper than rest) I can answer that. Nothing gives I would reccomend 100x over staff great facility great and the lake near by is great for pops to get out and explore. Our search included every new facility and we are super glad he ended up where he did.

i was so happy to have found The Shores of Lake Phalen for my Mother and Father everyone there was so warm and welcoming us and made my parents feel very comfortable. The staff was very attentive and efficient. Unfortunately my father passed away just 10 days after moving in and poor mother passed away 3 weeks later from a broken heart with her beloved husband of 72 years gone. I had a aunt that lived there. Becky and Shelly were a rockstar team in the Elm area. I only give 2 stars because my aunt wasn't showered or offered a shower on her shower nights. Becky & Shelly did it during the day and the facility didnt know we had a camera in her room. Becky and Shelly were professional and the other aides talked about eachother and didnt pay attention to her needs. I would look around because cares were not being done unless Becky and Sheely were working.

This is a beautiul, well run community. This community has been under new Leadership for roughly a year. They are building a teamwork mentality among the staff, and leadership, which is bennifting the residents. They still have a variety of COVID restrictions in place to keep the residents and staff safe whie allowing a naormal day to day living expiereance. I am actually looking to move my mother to this community.

We looked at numerous of Assisted Living Communities that offered secure memory care before deciding on The Shores. It is an amazing place. I could not imagine anywhere better. The building is beautiful inside and out, the staff are kind, and the food is delicious! Great place!

Went for an application because they said walk in applications are welcomed so that's what I did. Front desk gal was very nice and helpful. Never got to meet the chef but did call her only to never hear anything back about the position.

Care is good, place is clean and staff is very friendly. Almost always someone around to help, responsive and supportive. Only issue is the food is sub-par, has been for the six months my parents have been there. Not the healthiest, not the tastiest and very unappealing to the eye as well. It is a bit sad as that's the one thing many of the residents have to look forward to...a good meal while they have a chance to socialize with others. I think the Shores could do better.

This is a gorgeous assisted living facility with beautiful scenic views. The director is very kind and goes above and beyond to accommodate families and loved ones. Excellent care and loving care givers.

The shores is a great facility and the residents are awesome.The staff is very unprofessional they need someone to go there undercover and just see how it's ran they don't appreciate their employees that's why they have a very high turn over people don't come back after orientation and that's bad.
