My mother couldn't be in better hands. Director Janna Ritter finds the balance between the care that is needed yet never wanted. She expresses herself as a professional while maintaining a down to earth persona. Her staff is very open to family visits and always forthcoming with any information I have ever requested. In my opinion my mom couldn't be in better hands than those at Provision Assisted Living in Oshtemo!! Bravo to staff and leadership!!!

I am only giving this location a 2 star because the residents are absolutely amazing! As far as the facility, Let's do a run down. The food is old, so when your family members complain about the food being disgusting, please believe them. The salad bar is never up to par, but they still put it on their plate. The cooks do not use gloves or sanitize so there's that. I've witnessed them throw away loads and loads of food before assuring EVERY resident has eaten. There is an "All Day Menu" however, depending on the cook that day or their mood, good luck getting them to make what's not already prepped. There is also no one to sit and watch residents while dining in case of emergencies due to lazy caregivers and lack of kitchen staff. There are really good employees, but there also are employees that have no business caring for residents. It's becoming a requirement that everyone learns how to issue medications. RED FLAG! Trusting college students that are only here part time on the Med Cart when they aren't familiar with the importance and how critical it is for residents to take them is unacceptable. Then there are those who are so behind on Med's that it's often "missed". There are many things i'd like to address about the safety and well-being of residents in this community. However, I am just going to report more in depth to someone that can actually do something about it. They literally will hire anyone to take care of residents as long as the shift is covered. Even if they know they are not fully trained, they might as well be a babysitter until the real team comes in. Which typically is 9 am-5 pm Monday through Friday because all management is there so they have no choice but to be on their best behavior. Most, do not have the best interest at heart for the residents here. The attitudes are insane. To both each other and the residents themselves. You often see them sitting at desks on their phone. There are more things they will NOT do, than they WILL do. Thank God for the few that have been there for some time. That's the only thing that gives me hope that certain people will be taken care of to the best of their ability. I'll update again after I request an investigation for the stories I am ready to tell about my experience here. The facility is beautiful, but that means absolutely nothing when the most important thing is the care and comfort of your family members. Employment here is not recommended. They use you until they can't anymore. You'll kill yourself working doubles and coming in 6-7 days a week with no accommodation. No raises, ever. Unless you're their favorite and then maybe. I've seen people make more money just for knowing the management team prior to employment. You could do so much more than that person and they still make more money than you to sit on their bottoms all day. Referral bonuses? Good luck trying to get that as well. Please do not refer anyone trusting that you will get paid out. Too many things are overlooked. You'll find yourself doing many things not in your job description. I have stories for days, no room in this review to tell them all. Go here at your own Risk. Best of luck on your journey for a great facility, I wouldn't recommend this one.

My family found Provision Living-Oshtemo about a year and a half ago. Our mother was in a different Memory Care facility which we worried was not adequate for her care. We wondered about moving her at this late stage of her life. But we were so impressed with our interactions with Provision staff and our observations of the facility that we decided to go forward. This was the best thing we could have done for Mother. We experienced Provision Living as a community dedicated to care and compassion. Staff understood and supported the transitions Mother experienced as her condition declined. They were knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. I appreciated that caregivers were resident-oriented, giving mother options and choices despite her limitations. And to get basic, everything was clean public areas, individual living spaces, clothing and the residents well-groomed. When looking at care facilities, size matters. I think that Provision is just the right size, large enough to be professionalized, but small enough for the Director to be aware and involved in day-to-day happenings and resident concerns. Very important to us was the clear and consistent communication coming from Janna, facility Director. We always knew what was happening at Provision, including the many special events, related to holidays, seasons, or just having some fun. (Last Christmas was amazing!) Communication was so important, given that this was new territory for us in the family. Janna also answered her email and followed up on phone messages. Darkisha, Director of Nursing, was aware of Mother's condition and always willing to provide input and answer questions. In Mother's last days, at 95 years old, Hospice and Provision coordinated her care. We will always be grateful that she spent this time in her life at Provision Living.

March 2024 - (adding to the review that we did in January before my parents moved in) we were very excited about the opportunity to have my mom & dad stay close by at Provision Living in Oshtemo. It has fully met our expectations, and has even gone above and beyond. All of the staff have been wonderful, and the personal care that has been exhibited has been exceptional. Darkisha, and the medical staff she runs have been on top of everything and made sure that both our parents get all the care that they need. All of the front office staff have been accommodating and quickly respond to any needs or unusual situations. There are also an array of activities that they can participate in. They love the movies and the treat cart the most, but also do chair yoga, exercise circles, go on outings and can have easy access to their car when needed. My dad has been very excited about the food and doesn't miss a meal. It is all served restaurant style with lots of choices. My mom loves the food too but her memory issues have her missing a few meals from time to time. But the staff has helped work with us to make sure she gets adequate nutrition. The room/appartment itself has been really nice. We brought in a lot of familiar items to make it feel like home and within one week my parents were both stating how happy they were with their new home. This is also one of the few places who would allow them to keep their cat, and this has helped with the transition and feeling of homeyness. We had our one month review today and getting the information from the high tech sensors that help pick up activity, restlessness, breathing, heart rates, walking skills, and other elements was amazing. While the images are heat sensor images so you can't see any faces. It's great to see how much important information this provides on their activity and healthy living. We absolutely love-love-love the AI sensors! We remain confident that we made the absolute best decision for our family with Provision Living. - Jan 2024 - We are considering multiple senior care facilities for my parents who are both in their nineties and would benefit from an assisted living environment. We toured Provision Living yesterday with Nicole Matthews to learn what they offer. Nicole did an outstanding job of providing insight into what Provision Living can offer and the points of difference that make this a top candidate for us. For example they offer care at many levels, from those who need only a light amount of care, to assisted living with help bathing, dressing and personal function needs. They also include medication management, great food choices, lots of activities, a great library, theater and more. Importantly they also offer memory care in the same facility so if needed a simple room change can accommodate this need rather than a disruptive move to a new place with new staff. The facility itself is new, light and airy with many garden and outdoor views. Advanced technology like fall detection is a BIG point of difference that adds value, since my dad has fallen a few times in the past year. Every staff member we met or came across was pleasant and helpful. We are considering three locations at this time. Here, Nazareth (St. Joseph) and Friendship Village. The cost is high but so are the benefits. Yet the cost here is not as high as some other choices. I will repost an update once a final choice is completed. Special thanks to Nicole for being so helpful, candid and up front on all topics. She was amazing to deal with and is a big part of why we are leaning towards Provision Living.

She did a really good job explaining what options are and I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent on the tour. it is an absolutely beautiful facility and the staff was all very friendly, professional, and helpful. The people I met that live there all appeared to be happy and were quite friendly. When my parents are ready to move into assisted-living. I definitely plan on Provision Living being our first choice.

It has been one year since our family placed my mother in the care of Provision Living at Oshtemo MI. We are so fortunate to have had the opportunity and room available for my mother to reside at Provision! My mother very much likes living at Provision: she has a beautiful room, residents that have become her friends, and staff that she very much likes. Janna Ritter (Executive Director), Darkisha Fance, NP (Director of Nursing), and Nicole Matthews (Director of Sales) have been wonderful to work with: they have the best interest in mind for my mother and the Provision residents. The other staff members are very friendly and cheerful: they all strive to keep Provision well decorated and accommodating. Thank you Provision for all you do for my mother and all your residents!!

Recently toured Provisions as our family considers senior communities for our Dad who deserves the best. We're looking for a place that doesn't look, smell or appear to be an old persons home; a place that cares for, honors and dignifies the people that live there. My siblings, sib-in-laws and I are very particular about where our Dad will live and we were all very impressed with Provisions. Nicole did a great job patiently and clearly answering our many questions (in person and via email), gave us an unhurried tour of the community and did a great job engaging my Father as well. The facility has the appearance of a beautiful apartment building with arches over each units entry and a shelf nook for residents to decorate as they desire. We were impressed with the size and layout of the units which were thoughtfully laid out to ensure safety, ease of living yet still homey. The safety technology that privately monitors, learns the residents movements and alerts staff as needed, is a huge plus. Facility has a library, salon, spa area, several living room gathering areas, workout area, theater movie room, outdoor areas and more. Lots of options for quality living. Staff seemed very friendly. Residents seemed happy. Lots of activities for the residents. Food menu look delicious with options for the residents. Overall, we were all impressed and agreed this is the senior community for our Dad.

I have been very impressed with my interaction with Provision at Oshtemo as we evaluate options for Mom. Tours have been great with lots of information provided and many questions answered. Nicole is also very responsive to follow up questions. The interior spaces are well thought out and nicely layed out. Apartments are good sized with ample storage. Outdoor greenspace is attractively maintained and has seating for residents. They're also getting ready to open a new outdoor seating area. Mom hasn't moved in yet but I am confident about the level of care and service she will receive once she does.
