I would not put anyone in this place. The floors and baseboards are filthy also the grout in the tile floor in the bathroom is black from not being cleaned. In the 9 days my mother-in-law was there housekeeping came in one time on the day before we left and went over the floor with a mop but that didn't clean the floors. The bathroom was never cleaned. The staff seemed very uncaring and that may be due to being over worked. I had a CNA tell me that two of them were having to care for fifty-two residents. I also had a housekeeper tell me that there were only three of them to clean all of the rooms and that they were doing the best they can do. There were a few of the employees that were nice, but most were not. Her physical therapists were good, but the therapy was limited and none on the weekend. The food was terrible most of the time it was barley warm. She saw a doctor one time and a nurse practitioner three times. They also ran out of one of her medications and didn't let us know so that I could have brought it from home. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. If you do have to put a family member there you really need to check on them.

My Dad was a resident of this wonderful facility for over a year and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about his experience and every person that we encountered during his time there. Each staff member went out of their way to make the last part of my father's life as comfortable as possible. Their Memory Care is absolutely amazing, Ted went above and beyond to help my Dad as he declined, he was our guiding light as my sister and I navigated his illness. I have the utmost respect for the entire staff at this Sprenger location from the Director to the house keeping staff. They all treated my Dad with kindness, dignity, and respect, we feel so blessed that this was his "final home". I would highly recommend Sprenger to anyone who has a loved one who needs any and all levels of care, from rehab to skilled nursing to memory care. They care and that is not easy to find in the world today.

A big thanks to the staff at Sprenger. My husband arrived on oxygen and unable to walk. After 2 months, he walked out on his own and no longer needed oxygen. This is due to the PT/OT group, the nurses, transportation, and aids that took such good care of him. My gratitude for all of them is immense.

I have been in the healthcare business for 40 years and I chose Sprenger ALF for my sister who recently became a resident in their assisted living facility in Bluffton. I chose this facility due to its caring, professional staff (nursing, aids, administration) and the fact that it also provides skilled nursing when applicable. The staff that I have had many meetings with are attentive to my sister's needs and communicate with me promptly and when warranted. They care about their residents and do their upmost to continually improve their best practices.That is our experience. I toured a couple of local ALFs and found Sprenger to be best suited for my sister who needs Physical and Occupational Therapy. Their therapy is on par with those found in hospital settings. I make this assessment due to my 40 years of experience in the business of orthopedic rehabiltaion, during which time I equipped private and hospital based Physical Therapy departments. Their apartments are clean, spacious and well maintained. I would not hesitate to recommend Sprenger to families wishing to find an facilty for themselves and/or loved ones.

My father was sent to Sprenger shortly after hip surgery for rehabilitation. I can't thank enough the nurses and the administration for the care given. He was always in good spirits and so well taken care of when I couldn't be there. I'm so grateful for all the nurses, therapists, and administrators for taking such excellent and nurturing care for my father . The first day was a rough transition but it was all uphill from there, my mom was there for a week, I just wanna give a shout out to some special people there that were so kind to my mom, Curtis,Tankna,Joan Jones, Kyanna, while I was visiting I noticed They all went above and beyond to make my mom's stay special and a plus my mom loved being able to get her hair done there so a nice amenity that they offer.

May 2020, I needed to find a Long Term Care facility to care for a 97 year old friend. Sprenger Health Care was recommended by Assistance + who had been helping me care for my friend. After a stroke, my friend was no longer able to live in an Assisted Living Facility and after leaving the hospital was transferred to Sprenger Health Care in Okatie. I worked with Shav Jones to complete the paperwork to get my friend admitted and have worked with Ms. Jones since. She and the staff at Sprenger have been wonderful answering my questions, getting my friend the physical therapy and other services she has needed to make her life at Sprenger one that my friend has enjoyed since arriving. They are quick to call me to give me Covid updates or if something has happened that I need to know about. My friend loves it and you very seldom find her in her room. She is enjoying all the amenities that Sprenger has to offer (bingo, craft projects, sitting and chatting with the staff and other residence and especially the ice cream social and milk shake days). I can't say enough about the great communication I get from the staff and their care of the residence. A lot of places see this just as a job. The staff at Sprenger see this as caring for their grandmothers and grandfathers - family. I hope I am lucky enough to find a place like this when my time comes to need this type assistance.

My Dad transitioned from a memory care facility to skilled nursing at Sprenger. Except for one nurse, the staff was excellent -- from the nurses, aides, and even the people serving food/drinks. The nurses were attentive, engaged, and always available for updates. We always felt he was getting the best care possible under the sad circumstances. Even in my Dad's last days, you could feel the true compassion and genuine sadness from all the staff. If you have to put a loved one in skilled nursing, I would recommend this place.

I was little leary about skilled nursing facility, but I am glad we chose this facility for our father. The staff is attentive and patient. If you have elderly family member that needs assisted living or rehab you should definitely chose Sprenger Healthcare in Bluffton.

My 86 yr old father needed a place to visit for a few days while I took a much needed Respite Care break. Our Hospice group organized everything down to the surprise treats in the room when we checked in. The staff at Sprenger are caring and professional. They welcomed my Dad with open arms making sure that he wanted for nothing. He was in the care of the Sprenger staff for 6 days and had a relaxing and enjoyable time. Though he was staying in the full care facility he was able to be transported / wheeled over to the assisted living side for their nightly "Meet and Mingle". Sprenger Bluffton is now my facility of choice even though with live in Hilton Head Plantation.

I just recently spent a little over two weeks in the Sprenger facility. My experience there was a great one. I felt taken care of, looked after and treated very very well. The food was good, with a menu that really pleased. I worked real hard with the phyiscal therapy team, and was really prepared for my home situation. What a great place to rehab.

2 stars is for the CNAs (mostly night shift) ,a few of the nurses and Therapy was outstanding. As far as the remainder of the staff and Drs. What Drs???? never were seen all I heard were phone consults with nurses. Head staff was more concerned about payment before the care of the patient. I could type a book of negatives on this facility !!!

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about This facility. My mother has been here twice. When she first arrived. October of last year. She has very little movement on one side of her body. She has a Brian tumor. With the combination of amazing team work from the staff. Both pt and ot. She was able to leave Walking normally. She even regained her ability to drive. The place is new clean. The staffs attitude is upbeat and goal oriented. Shav has is outstanding in arranging presentations for me as to her progress. Unfortunately I live far away and it's hard to know what is going on when your not physically available. She has been readmitted. I'm impressed at how tight they are to a side. Ovid transmission. Hats off to them and there hard work. This is a great facility. If you need there services for your loved ones. There isn't a better place for them to be Curtis Frank

My father was transferred to Sprenger after 15 tough days in the hospital to recover from surgery. He was admitted to the skilled nursing unit for approximately one month before being discharged in really remarkable shape. While there he was treated with politeness and respect by the staff and family members always remained in the loop with regard to his treatment plans and progress reports. Outside of the outstanding skilled nursing unit and physical, speech and occupational therapists there were many others that made his time there as comfortable as it could be. Whether it be the Clinical Liason, Social Services, Concierge, Chef and associates who were behind the bar and serving food, it was obvious "all" worked in concert to provide a quality patient and family experience. Beyond all that, the facilities are like vacationing in a resort and not nursing home and hospital like at all. It was very easy for my sister and I to hang out for hours visiting with Dad, the other happy patients and family, we even made new friends. You really cannot go wrong by putting Sprenger high on your list for short and long term care.
