They are understaffed, and bring in help that don't know the patients, so those patients that can't communicate verbally sometimes are ignored by them. The regular staff are very good. The facility is mostly clean. I have to say I am unhappy with the amount of attention he gets. They are supposed to do range of motion exercises at least once a day, but he seldom has them done at all. I am there a lot and have seen them done only twice. I have brought this up many times. My brother had a stroke and can't move his right side at all. He also can't speak much. I also agree it can take a very long time to get the light answered.

My mom said she loves this place that she stays at because it has water next to the facilities that she can look out and she has her own room and we can go and visit her whenever we can and she like the activities She likes doing her puzzles And we love our mom so much, Barbara Courier. She’s our savior, Our mother Our friend, she is a good mother. Thank you for taking care of her. I really appreciate it and my sister too. Thank you so much.

Disappointed with transitional care. My mother-in law (MIL) with dementia was admitted with Covid. They dropped off food trays to her room and did not make sure she could even feed herself, and initially she couldn’t so one of us had to be there every meal. I placed two calls to the social worker and she NEVER returned the calls, nor did her voicemail or email say she was out (this was over the holiday). I eventually had to ask a staff to send a email to her requesting a care conference since she never called me back. Because it took so long to schedule the care conference, it ended up being more of a discharge conference. Had the social worker called me back, several of our concerns could’ve been addressed earlier and possibly not resulted in this two star rating.Very poor communication. My MIL was supposed to have a walking program and after the initial covid restrictions to her room, she was brought to the dining table in a wheelchair unless we walked her out. They didn’t want us to walk her but if we didn’t, all she got to strengthen her legs was less than an hour of therapy in a 24 hour period. We realize it was over the holidays, but it seemed like they had bare bones staffing. Another resident at the table with my MIL told me that the food was not served warm. We also noticed that each time a meal was delivered, the staff chose that time to come, ask questions, check blood pressure, Or do other things that resulted in my MIL not eating a warm meal. Most of the staff were friendly is about as good of a compliment as I can give.

I would just like to rave about how great it is to work with Linsey. We work closely with her when we have new referrals come in and she makes it painless. After our patients are there, she is quick to resond when we are looking for updates and to start working on discharge planning. Make it easy for us to succeed having such a great person on the other end.

Parmly is a great place to place.

The entire staff at Parmly are wonderful. They constantly worked above the call of duty. Everyone was always cheerful, helpful, and took care of my brother, Mark. Even during the COVID shut down they found ways to make some sort of visitation possible. I have been to several care centers, Parmly stands above them, cleaner, better staffed, more friendly. They work hard to make the place feel like a home, Mark always called it home. He enjoyed his time there. He enjoyed the activities, staff, and care he received there. The folks there were his last friends. I also appreciate the Christ center atmosphere. I have requested my family to place me there if I need care. Richard

I have had many encounters with Parmly, through caregiving for my boyfriend and his best friend. Both had significant health issues. My boyfriend stayed here three times and his brother-at-heart twice, all in the last three years. The care they received, even at their lowest health and cognition points, was excellent. Even visitors receive caring amenities such as low-cost meals so they can dine with their loved ones, and free access to the variety of beverages and frozen treats kept (at least in the TCU) for residents. The food is not great. If the expected stay is long, perhaps loved ones would bring in food (which is totally acceptable; but should be arranged in advance). And there's a fitness center that includes a lovely, well-kept swimming pool, weight machines, and art classes. There are yoga classes, and a lovely park and walkway by Green Lake. Also a beautiful little chapel, an aquarium in the lobby, and an interesting hallway with documentary photos, leading to a smallish museum room filled with interesting medical, personal, and historic artifacts. Artwork is everywhere. And there is a wall commemorating centenarian residents. Delightful! The only real problem I found was with the laundry. I spent every minute I could with my boyfriend each time he was there. His first time, he was fully cognizant and the staff followed my instruction to gather his laundry for me to wash. They set an expectation. The next two times, he was somewhat confused... and my instructions about laundry were ignored or forgotten, regardless of the sign hung on the closet or pinned to the bulletin board that clearly says "family will launder". They fell into habit, knowing they weren't being watched by the resident, and only gave me his clothes if I was there to intercept them. In fact, in his final stay (he never came home, he went to the hospital and passed) he lost one article of clothing in particular that was very special. It disappeared the day after he was admitted. I personally went through the lost-and-found on the floor and in the laundry room. I only recovered two items, neither of them the important one. I never labeled his clothes because I expected to bring them home, after that first stay. Labels have to be fairly permanent to withstand laundering, which means you can't reasonably donate the clothes or put them in a garage sale and expect them to sell. So. Beware of the laundry! And the food. BUT -- go for the care! And the swimming pool and the excellent PT. Check out the equipment in the TCU exercise room.

I had a great stay at Parmly on the Lakes the Staff and care was great and the food was very good too..

My father just passed away at Parmly on the Lake in the Park side LTC. I have been involved in the medical care of my father for over 46 years, so I have become very good at telling when he is getting good care. I have nothing but great things to say about the workers at Parmly! From the receptionists, to the administration, to the social worker (Stephanie), to the nurses (Rosa, Nikki, Terry, Lisa), to the aides, to the maintenance workers. They were all competent, caring, compassionate people who truly had my father's best interests at heart; unfortunately, I cannot remember more names. I have already recommended their facilities to two of my friends, and will gladly do it again in the future. Keep up the excellent work, because it truly takes special people to do what you do on a daily basis and it really makes a difference!

My Dad was put into the TCU for therapy after a hospital stay. I will say for a nursing home, transitional care unit, or the assisted living side all have been very accommodating to my Dad but also to me as a family member. Covid-19 has made it difficult but I think that they really went above and beyond what during the pandemic versus what I have seen from facilities that other family members have been in pre-Covid. My Dad say to food is delicious for the most part, serving sizes at times are a bit too much for him, but it is served hot and at the same time like clockwork. I have only met 1 staff member that wasn't friendly in the 6 weeks he has been there. I would highly recommend Parmly on the Lake in a heartbeat.
