The staff at Highgate were super friendly and accommodating as Dad went from independent living to an assisted living facility. The transition was not easy and Highgate was there to help. My only concerns would be the dining hall and introductions. We were told he could sit anywhere in the dining room and that was not the case. Previous residents have already established where they are sitting and don't like their routine changing. More than once, Dad had to move. It would have been nice if he could have been introduced to some residents and join them for a meal. As for introductions, the staff was great about introducing themselves but meeting other residents was more difficult. Other than that, his care has been great - we would highly recommend Highgate.

It's always a tough decision to move your parents and at first there was some resistance. Once my Mother moved in to Highgate Senior Living, it didn't take her long to adapt and really enjoy her new environment. The Staff is very helpful and friendly. They know everyone's name and make you feel like family. Visitors are welcomed every time you walk in. There are many activities and Staff encourage residence to participate. The size of the facility is just right, not a massive overwhelming building to get lost in, everything is easy to find. My Mother enjoys the Breakfasts, Lunches and Dinners. Daily specials and also a Menu of other available items. My Mother is Very happy at Highgate in Billings.

Quality care and commitment for my mom during a difficult transition. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. I moved back to Montana from Illinois after the passing of my lovely wife; who suffered from Alzheimer's, Rita. Highgate has been a wonderful place to live. The Team has been very welcoming and has made Highgate my new home. They have spent much of their time making sure I feel at home especially, with the loss of my Rita. The Team spends time playing my favorite game, chess with me. I would like to get a chess club started, which I have already gotten three people signed up. I am also teaching the Secretary how to play chess. Overall, I am happy I have chosen Highgate.

It was so hard for me to accept the fact that my mom needed to transition to memory care. When I was introduced to Mikala, I felt so well taken care up and the stress was slowly taken off of me. Mikala was so proactive with my moms care, she handled everything so smoothly. Watching my mom become acclimated, I couldn't have been more pleased. Although this process can seem difficult, I'm very happy with my decision with my mom to move to the Cottage and have such a great caring team that keeps me involved and loves my mom like our own family. I can't thank the team in the cottage enough for giving me that peace of mind! Anyone dealing with a family member with Dementia needs to meet with High Gate.

I own Munchkin Land Childcare. We partner with Highgate Assisted Living in Billings to do activities, field trips, and concerts for the residents. It is a joy to see the excitement on the residents faces when they see us coming. The residents sing along with the children when we travel to them. When they come to the childcare they enjoy an activity, reading a story, holding infants, or playing outside. Highgate is a great place for our children to experience elders and the knowledge they can share.

Since my parents have been at Highgate Senior Living, my parents have gone from liking the food they serve to letting me know that the food served is not up to standard. Front desk has gone from being help to talking at you instead of to you. There hasn't been a lot of thought into how we can spend time with our family. My father is almost 92 and my mother has Alzheimers. Time is precious to me and we are running out of time. It is a nice facility, but now, like most places, it has come a really nice prison for my parents. I know it isn't all there fault, but something needs to be done. Finally, except for one employee, most have tried to be kind and speak to me instead of at me and for that I appreciate them. I hope that the new director will be knowable than the last Director.

Mom came to Highgate a couple of years ago with early Alzheimer's, but still independent and lived in the Manor. Her apartment was lovely, spacious and the staff became friends. She is very social; enjoying a trip to Yellowstone, a winery, shopping and weekly trips dining out. As her Alzheimer's has progressed, the staff has helped ease her into the Cottage/memory care. The Care Partners have been patient, caring and work hard to keep her engaged and active. She likes her new apartment and feels safe. Telling me so when I visit. If issues come up with her health or Alzheimer's progression the Nursing staff and Care Partners are pro-active and contact the family; even if we are out of town. That commitment to her as a person is a comfort to our family. We appreciate that they care about her; even during this challenging disease progression. The staff make efforts to include us in special holiday events and hosts seminars that can be helpful. The attention to so many facets of senior care is great.

I love Highgate and feel forever grateful to this community for helping my dad when he needed it. My dad needed help immediately, and I was out of the state. Thankfully, someone at the hospital suggested we try Highgate, and I'm so glad we did. My dad was independent and free-spirited, but he needed a lot of care. Wendy, the director, is amazing. She took the time to really understand our situation and to make sure my dad got exactly what he needed. The staff clearly takes a lot of pride in their work and were great at touching base, providing ideas, and helping in every way. When I was able to fly into Billings, I immediately knew that my dad was in the right place! Each day they provide structured activities that both the residents and the staff enjoy together. Some residents brought their pets which cheered up the whole group. My dad had friends and family visit almost daily, and they were kindly welcomed into the community and even fed if they were hungry. The atmosphere was calm, warm, and welcoming. When it was time for my dad to go on hospice, Wendy and staff were tremendously helpful in the process. Highgate is worth every penny. It is so important to know your loved one is in such an excellent community.

The level and quality of communication, the quality of interaction, the quality of the private living space and common spaces, the food and the variety of dietary options, the personal attention she receives, the quality of activities, and the way they are able to help my mother feel useful and needed -- I feel like my mother is thriving at Highgate Cottage. When we began looking for senior housing for my parents I was attracted to Highgate Senior Living because of their philosophy of keeping couples together in the same apartment if at all possible. My mother requires assistance in her care and my father was relatively independent -- Highgate has been a wonderful fit for their needs for almost four years! This was their "community" where they could be involved in activities such as bingo, musical presentations and other Highgate offered family activities. I am VERY thankful that we decided to make this move for my parents! My father passed away about a year ago and my mother was surrounded by loving care providers who saw to her every need. Due to memory issues she has recently been moved to the memory "wing" and I continue to be very pleased with the care she is receiving. Not only are her physical needs being met but she has constant mental stimulation with games and other activities.

Our mother has Alzheimer's and was very reluctant to move to a care facility but could no longer live alone. This was a nice option for her because it offered more assistance than a senior living facility yet still allows the residents to have as much freedom as they desire. The staff is friendly and helpful and they are always on top of things. The residents are very friendly also. As a whole, it has been a very welcoming environment for our mother. We also like the option of having memory care in the same location if at some time in the future we need to consider that.

Recently my father transitioned to Highgate. We made this decision for him based upon the recommendations of others and conversations that we had with the excellent Highgate staff. After the past three months or so, I cannot say enough good things about Highgate. The staff members genuinely love the residents! The residents are treated with care, dignity, respect and love. We give Highgate the highest marks. My family now lives approximately 1000 miles away from Billings. We would love to have my father near. However, he loves Billings and he very much enjoys his friends at Highgate. Thank you for everything that you do in my absence. I feel reassured knowing that he is in your care.

I would like to express my appreciation for you and your staff. I must be honest the first three months we were ready to move do to the lack of response to his needs. But now that you and I sat down and talked and you responded immediately and did not make the staff feel bad about the situations that occurred. Dad and I spoke last week and he feels more confident in the facility. Only complaint is he wants to go do things, but then he won't go down to activities so that is something he and the staff need need to work on. He is happier now. Moving a family member into an assisted living facility is not an easy decision and the transition can be difficult for both the person moving in and the family involved. Alzheimer's (a heartbreaking disease when it's someone you love and adore) may make the decision a necessity, but it doesn't make it feel any better. It helps immensely knowing my mom is in such a high quality facility. The aides and other staff who are involved with my mom's care are amazing. The administrative staff have listened to any concerns I have had along the way and have made changes if they were necessary. I appreciate it immensely.

After several years in other assisted living facilites, in NE Montana and in Billings my 90 year old parents needs, included memory care for Mom and an attractive assisted living environment for Dad. Highgate offered both and their unique nursing needs were well met by the friendly, professional staff. We are very satisfied. The room they share is spacious and well appointed. Mom's special memory care needs are met by a friendly patient staff, who have her engaged in crotcheting again. An area for improvement is the variety and quality of food. Pasta and stir frys labelled with very imaginative names do not make up for blandness. Yet this summer's BBQ cook off among members of the staff promises to be a welcome change for those residents who partake. The staff is great about trying to adapt and be flexible in meeting the needs and wants of each patient. Being close to Billings' fine medical services and the VA facility is a plus!

Moving our mom into Highgate from another facility turned out to be a great decision. Mom needs assistance transferring anywhere, and the caregivers at HIghgate are exceptional. Medications are given in a timely manner, and any nursing attention is received promptly. The food is delicious; the grounds are beautiful. Various activities are planned: drives, shopping, restaurants, games, music, crafts. Caregivers quickly know the names of not only the new residents, but their families, too. My Grandma lives at Highgate, and I don't think there is a better place for her to be! The staff is very friendly and helpful. My Grandma really enjoys all the activities that go on daily. Whether it's Bingo, or her Spa day, there is always something new for her to look forward to. (I even found that there is a Happy Hour!) When she was living in her home, she didn't get the social interaction that she sees everyday at Highgate. Since being there, I can tell that she is happier than she has been in a while. I would recommend Highgate to anyone!

As a local business owner, I've toured many facilities for various events and functions and always thought Highgate was very warm, inviting, and truly a beautiful facility! I was happy when our family decided to move my Grandma into Highgate where she has lived and thrived for the last two years. Their is something to be said about being greeted on a first name basis and with a smile every time you walk through the door.
