I am normally not one to give reviews, but I had to for this facility I was in Concordia of Sumner after foot surgery at the Cleveland clinic for 3 weeks and I must say I could not have been in a better place!! The care that I received and the service that I received was the best from everyone from the time I got there to the day I left, not to mention the place was very nice and the food was pretty good too. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for excellent care!

i work in geriatric care so i tend to be more critical of facilities than the average person but i have to say that the staff and location are absolutely amazing. a moment that stood out to me recently is an employee in the activities department named Carmen sat with my grandma for hours helping her organize her jewelry to send to me for christmas (unfortunately she can't wear earrings anymore, so she wanted me to have them). it was all so perfectly packaged and you can tell by the care that it was made with love. i still can't believe all the effort she put in. people like this are hard to come by and i really hope she receives the praise she deserves. my grandma misses being independent so to have somebody so kind and patient help her for a long period of time means the world to my family. i've also had very positive experiences with the other staff but i don't remember their names (sorry!) The buildings are exceptionally clean. i am very appreciative of their work and i'm happy my grandma is living in such a loving and caring environment. in my professional experience, transitioning somebody from ILF to ALF is difficult for everybody involved. it's not an easy job but this extra effort is highly commendable. i feel so comfortable having my grandma under their care.

The nursing staff, doctors, and therapists were all very kind and helpful. Big thanks to Ashley, Carolyn and Olivia for making my therapy fun (at times). I can't single out all the nursing staff whose presence made my day brighter. There are too many to thank. As well, the food was very good so hats off to the kitchen staff, as well. Nancy and Amy were a joy to visit. My stay (if I had to rehab) was everything I could have asked.

This facility needed to make improvements. My family member has since left. At that time, many changes were being implemented. Hopefully things are beginning to improve. Some really sweet people work there and will watch over your loved one.

My grandma just moved into Independent living and she enjoys the terrace room dining and was surprised with how many lunch and dinner options there are. She is enjoying the pool workout classes as well as chair yoga.

Great place! My 94 year old mom has dementia and it has been a smooth transition from the Manor house. Shout out to Monique for her assistance every step of the way in dealing with our large family.

brought a huge change for our family. It was time for mom to move from our life long home. She's now almost 89 and just unable to keep up with the stress of a house and living alone. Everyone in the family was nervous. We started our search by visiting every option in the Fairlawn, Bath and Copley areas. Our search ended at Concordia (across from Copley High School). We are now 5 months into this residential change and it has been nothing but PERFECT. Mom moved into her new home with tons of support from the Concordia employees. Her two bedroom, two bathroom apartment is beautiful. Every detail and need has been addressed by caring staff. She only needs a little support at this point, but as time goes on, Concordia is designed to respectfully add support around her. She truly is living a life that is INDEPENDENT! This place is clean and beautiful, inside and out! Mom is pretty shy...and Concordia has given her the privacy to make her own choices and grow at her own pace. She has met other residents and is greeted by many smiles and waves each day! Mom was also permitted to bring her four-legged buddy, who was also welcomed with open arms by Concordia. From a great restaurant to a wonderful salon, library, pool, walking paths, and entertainment, Concordia has thought of everything. Mom is HAPPY and healthy! Never once has mom looked back, instead she is wonderfully excited about her new life! Thank you Concordia! My Mother is having a wonderful time. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Several years ago she started in Assisted Living apartments and is now in Nursing Care. I couldn't be happier with this experience.

I spent about thirty days here about 16 months ago Now here for 10 days The best rehab facility I have ever been to Last time they did a lot of anti biotics administration for me Really good staff and really nice rooms!

I can't say enough about Concordia. My mother in law is currently in assisted living.She could not remain at home by herself she needed 24 hour care. It took some adjustments for her but the staff has made her feel at home. In the past she was in rehabilitation for a fall so she wanted to go back to Concordia. My step father and my father in law were also in rehabilitation and the care they received was very good and the staff was very professional and caring. I also had a friend go to Concordia after a knee replacement and she couldn't say enough good things. She told me the food was great especially the soup! Another friend had an apartment there and loved it. As you see I highly recommend Concordia to my friends and family.

My mother has lived at Concordia at Sumner since it first opened This is the premier retirement facility in the Akron area, and is certainly a Top 10 property in the State of Ohio. I am a retired businessman with 45 years of experience, and I can't say enough about how well managed it is. The CEO, Charlene Kish, is the best executive in the business, and the entire staff has been a joy to work with over the years. 5 Stars!!!

Concordia at Sumner is a blessing! I looked at and compared many care facilities in the Akron/Fairlawn area before choosing Concordia at Sumner for my dad. I know I made the right decision! I go often to visit my dad and when I leave him, I am at peace - confident that he is being well taken care of! The employees and staff truly care about my dad! They are diligent in every aspect of his care. They treat him with kindness and respect. The doctors and nurses listen to my concerns, communicate well with me, keep me informed, and have taken good care of dad's medical needs. If necessary, they make outside doctor/dental appointments and arrange transportation. They have been very prompt and courteous in submitting documents for his insurance, etc. Dad's room is spacious with two large windows. We brought furniture and decorations from home which helps him feel at home. His room is kept neat and clean and it smells clean. His laundry is done and hung nicely in his closet. There are many activities and social functions available for my dad and our family. They also have ways to stay in touch with dad when I can't be there or for friends and family who live far away. It's home away from home for my dad! He's happy and so am I! Thank you all at Concordia of Sumner! You are a blessing!

I have worked on this campus for ten years and everyone I meet says to me "I can tell you love your job!" and hands down they are absolutely right! Concordia at Sumner has been my home and the residents and staff are one big family. The residents are so incredibly happy to call it home with caring competent staff who go above and beyond to make their experience in every level of care a wonderful one.

The facility is beautiful. Some staff were awesome. Some staff were inattentive, indignant and condenscending. Communication between staff and the patient's family is poor. I assume these problems are similar at many nursing facilities.

I have worked with Sumner for over sixteen years. Throughout all the changes our community has endured, it has maintained a high level of resident centered care. The campus and buildings are designed as attainable luxury. Many of our team members have served our community with excellence for years. During my career I have spent time in most senior living communities in northeast Ohio. I have yet to find a perfect community. However, I can say with confidence that Concordia at Sumner provides an excellent senior living environment by caring and compassionate people!
